    Drove one and noticed it was a little warm inside that compartment where the aux input is 🤔. Thank you for this video 🙏🏾

    Thanks for the video. I have 2009 MDX. I have battery drain issue since I bought the car. When I was check the amps drop, I found 0.273mA drop from the radio fuse. I disconnected wire from radio, amplifier, display screen still was unable to find the drop. After watching the video. I disconnected the wire from the Bluetooth module. I saw amps drop to 0.056mA. Thanks again.

    Thank you! On my 2nd battery, and the car wouldn't start after 3 days sitting in the garage. Popped open my compartment and that bluetooth unit was HOT. Hopefully this fixes it. Thank you for posting the video Azuz!

    Thanks for the vid. I believe my wife's 2009 MDX has this problem. I was searching here first before I spent too much time finding the drain.

    I stumbled upon this video by dumb luck. I paired my phone to my MDX tonight. If I hadn't seen this video I would have had a dead battery tomorrow morning and not know why. Thank you so much!

    I have a '07 MDX Tech package. Had a new battery last December. This April after 3 days of not driving - dead battery. Had it checked out twice. Battery/alternator good. Noticed my HFL button was non-responsive yesterday and couldn't pair my phone and this lead to your video. You made it look easy to separate the center panel but mine just doesn't move like that. I'll figure that out but fingers crossed. Thanks for the video!

    • @sharkbait63md
      @sharkbait63md 18 дней назад

      How did it go? Did you just disconnect or replace the HFL module? I'm going thru the same and I'm trying to weigh my options.

    • @donmiller61
      @donmiller61 18 дней назад +1

      @@sharkbait63md With a lot of courage I pulled like hell, and the cover came off intact. It's easier when you see where the clips are (but you don't know until you take it off) but I remember pulling more toward the middle of the cover. Then, disconnected the HFL in a second, the cover went back on real easy. As I remember, the price for a new module was $300-$400? So with a 17 year old car that I probably used the phone for about an hour or two total in that time (I don’t take long calls when driving), and I have the phone in the car anyway, I’ll spend that money on something fun.

      @donmiller61 thanks for the reply. Your absolutely right about putting the $into something else. Apparently there's a class action. Thanks again.

    Thank you for your video. The dealer also wanted to charge me $160 to disconnect the unit.
    I guess I will never buy another Acura ever again even though I was thinking of buying the RDX until this happened to my MDX!

    Thank you for posting. I followed your directions and popped the panel off myself. before I found your video I called the dealership and the service manager told me I may not be able to do it myself I may have to come in and let one of the men there do it. Eye roll...
    I hope this takes care of my battery drain. I've had to have my car jumped 3 times in the last 5 months. I've gone through four batteries in this car.

      Danelle Petero don't listen to them guys at this dealership they just want to overcharge you. I did this same repair in my 06 Acura TL and it was in the overhead map light/sunroof button compartment.

    I just bought an '09 MDX, and I remember doing something similar to this to my RDX after it kept draining. I'm not even going to wait until morning to wake up to a dead battery, I went right out in the garage and unplugged it. Thanks for saving me some frustration, the MDX and RDX are both excellent cars, but knowing how to fix these little bugs is key to owning one. Now I have to figure out why the 6-CD player is giving MECH ERROR code and not wanting to play or spit out the CD?!

    Wish I'd seen this a couple of years ago. After working 2 days myself to try to find the cause of a parasitic battery drain I finally gave up and took it to a repair shop that charged me about $250 to unplug the Bluetooth. They said a new replacement Bluetooth was about $700. After seeing this I think I probably got ripped off since they probably only spent about 5 minutes or less fixing the car.
