The first women's Olympic Champions have been crowed. We will discuss all the details!

The meeting the U.S. team had last night that helped them win today
How Italy won their glorious silver
Flavia's fall and why she looked like a wrestler on her way to helping Brazil win their Olympic bronze.
More moments from the press conference and why the U.S. team had us in stitches.
I think Canada laid the foundations for a future bronze/silver. They did so well.
P.s. You guys are awesome, thanks for all this coverage.
As a country, I'd say we have more appreciation than the superpowers for gradations and nuances of victory. Fifth place is glorious, and we should cut all ties to the British monarchy since Ellie is clearly our Queen. 🇨🇦 🍁
I was so gutted when Ellie Black fell... I wanted them to take 3rd or 4th. Also poor Ellie in quals on beam. I wanted her to get a medal so bad!!!
@@JoleneDaviesITKWJ I sadly don't think Canada has much of a chance for team medal and sadly Ellie's best days were years ago. I would hope for a miracle and she gets bronze individually but not likely. 2016 was her time maybe? Shei is in the vault finals but in last of the top 8 against Rebeca; Simone and other top vaulters.
@@georgeroyce3459 I always saw so much potential in Ellie Black, but she didn't necessarily showed what she'd appeared to promise in training. There was always too much expectation over her difficulty level and execution, but in the end she had problems putting it all together.
The bit about Suni being expected to take care of her family… every first or zero generation Americanized immigrant kid feels this.
💯
Are her parents even there? I know they keep showing her sisters. 😢 but I understand if not.
@@abbyo6311 estranged.... Not speaking with the step dad in years... Pleasantries only with her mom
@@abbyo6311 her mom was there to greet her at the "spot" after the ceremony
@@davedavey-y8e the man that built the beam in the backyard? the one who Simone sponsored a wheelchair for after Tokyo? Omg.
Once again the Chinese end up out of the medal position after they were securely there after the third rotation because they REFUSE to choose a more well rounded team, one that has at least two DTY's. They keep making the same mistake when choosing a team by relying HEAVILY on beam and bars workers, two apparatuses on which most falls occur and that is EXACTLY what happened. SHEESH! When will they learn?????
LITTERALY AND Zhou falls and gets a freaking 12.3 😢 and then all there floor gets devalued disappointed. If they got a 40 on floor they might of gotten it Ou Yushan got a 5.6 D in qual and then in team they get a stupid 5.1 annoying ugh
YES! In 2020 they did but they all fell because they never practice it at there own domestic competitions
Well they didn’t have to many falls though. Only Zhou did but it sucked. FLOOR IS THE REASON they must of not gotten credited for the dance moves or Ou triple twist……
It's so sad to see this repetitively. The ladies are absolutely beautifully talented bar and beam workers. Until they break out of the tradition, this is going to be a team of simply bar/beam specialists.
They are gonna keep trying those "clean" full twisting tsuks until somebody finally scores them well (except that won't ever happen because height and distance are important for vaults 🤷)
When I saw Flavia fall, I gasped.
I live for Jessica’s wheezing laughter and Spencer’s facial expressions! Thoroughly love this podcast! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙🇺🇸
Omg, the things that happen behind the scenes just make me admire everyone that participated in the olympics ❤️❤️
"Final Five" made a ton of sense actually. It was a reference to the end of the Karolyi era and how these were the last five who would have to deal with the abuse. It was a statement of change. I actually think it's incredibly powerful.
They did it as more of a tribute to Marta and her retirement which they said multiple times and because they also thought they’d be the last Olympic team of 5 people (since the team for Tokyo was going to be 4). At the time their intention was not a statement about ending abuse. Though in hindsight now we can pretend that’s why they chose it ;)
@@embeth446 Oh okay! I think was just repeating the popular narrative that arose around the name. Thanks for the clarification :)
So happy for the medalists. Congratulations! I'm always saying to my family, "Do you KNOW how difficult that is? Do you KNOW how amazing this gymnastics is? I also want to give a shout and to Canada and say how PROUD I am of Team Canada! They were solid, and in my opinion, pushed the third and fourth place teams to hit.
Very proud of Canada too. Silver and Bronze was an exciting fight.
This is LITERALLY me trying to get my family and friends to understand how difficult this stuff is lolz! I made my brother watch the TF with me and I drove him crazy stopping the feed on nearly every skill to explain why it's so hard and why we are so lucky to witness it!
What struck me through the two team competitions - qualifying and finals - was how happy, how much fun, how many smiles I saw from the Chinese team - and I was like "Whoa, something has changed! They seem to be enjoying gymnastics and being at the Olympics." So... ??
Were we watching the same competition? Or are you talking about the men? The Chinese girls, in finals, at least, were looking very stressed and crying before even going to the last event. I think, they have a really long way to go in sorting out the mental aspects of gymnastics competitions
Can someone talk about the new D'amato beam era? Because wow. I used to see her doing high 12s and low 13s on BB. Good job Alice!
She's been doing so great these past months on beam, it's incredible👏
She got mid to high 13 in Euros. It's not new.
I loved Flavia’s Floor X. I loved the samba in it!
Man I never realized how real Jessica gets in behind the scenes! I might have to become a gymnerd
It’s $4.99/month and SO worth it.
That final was sooo exciting. I'm so happy for Brazil. The girls were on fiiiire.
This was so funny and excellent. Jessica is so obviously running in fumes and Spencer is such the perfect broadcast partner! Very entertaining!
I love how someone in the live stream said the women's US team are great role models but then someone right after brings up that their team name is F around and find out💀.
LOL. They are the Golden Girls. FAAFO was a joke.
Just for mentioning here, as you talked about the athlete's struggles, that Lorrane Oliveira from Brazilian team lost her 21 year old sister this year... such a loss before the Olympics may be tough as hell. That besides all the injuries they had to overcome... they've endured through kinda everything
So Mykayla still think you could have made the team?? ...🤣🤣🤣 Our girls are golden!
Why even bring her up? She said some dumb sh*t, she was universally torn to shreds for it, she apologized. I thought the initial public reaction was justified (though the personal insults were over the line in some cases). But right now, it just takes away from the team to take a swipe at someone else.
@@Chris-g9iCouldn’t agree more, now it’s far beyond anything she said or did. Ugly stuff.
Everyone is hating on Laurie's commentary but I thought she did good! She was pointing out all the right things commentators are supposed to point out without being too harsh. At least she wasn't like Tim Dagget or Nastia.
I was expecting Sam. I don't hate Laurie's commentary, I just think she needs to work on herself. Her experiences as a gymnast are spilling out in the commentary. If she'd just stick to calling the sport and not editorializing she'd be fine. No one asked her if Hezly deserved to be there, but she found the need to defend her being there. It was uber weird and out of nowhere. It's like she reads socials and using the mic to 'check' commenters. She has a streak of green that is obvious probably because she failed on her return. She's pretty much in the ballpark of Mykala but with a bit more charm and cuteness. Underneath her hair is something ew.
@@creating1_c1999 If the worst thing she did is try to build up a teenager to the American public then you don’t have much to work with. Seems to me Laurie is not the one with a streak of green.
I agree, and honestly the average of the audience probably aren’t people who normally watched gymnastics so today she probably did fine as well. Some people just love to complain about any and everything
@@embeth446 There's more. The one the stands out the most was Suni's FX. Suni performed FX in both quals and finals. She gushed over both but Suni had some misses in finals. As a color commentator, the novices rely on her to call it. She didn't instead. Score returns, Suni is in the yellow at team final and many are in despair about why it was low.
Countless viewers said they prefer watching with her on mute because she's essentially showing favor to who she likes and shading those who she doesn't like.
I prefer Sam. She has more experience and she's more technical and less fangirly. If you have a problem with Sam state it.
When it comes to Hezly, she earned the spot. But Hezly doesn't need anyone defending her because the reasons she was on the team are valid. Chellsie and Alicia selected her. If you didn't hear the context of that defense then you have no need to speak on what you didn't observe. For the record, it is on RUclips. I implore you to watch it. FYI, it was during Hezly's beam.
@@creating1_c1999Can someone tell me where you heard Laurie? I’m hearing BBC people.
Was disappointed by the tv coverage of this on Peacock. They really just showed US and them sitting around doing nothing. Alot of the times they didn't even show other countries complete routine. I did find that if you want to see every gymnast that competes Peacock has every event by apparatus. No commentary though.
@KelsKingdom1 Thanks. I'll look into it. Or I can just watch it by apparatus to see more.
I had the tab open to the team final and literally would have missed it if I had not refreshed, because it didn't wake up out of the delay. Then, the medal ceremony was hidden. Just weird. I'm so done with this trash app after Olympics.
@@creating1_c1999 Live did have buffering issues. I think I'm just going to watch the replays. I only watched it live because I had today off.
The only place I can go see other countries compete is on channel USA or on the internet. NBC does a decent job. I doubt Peacock will be choosen for Olympic coverage next time.
Peacock had the Multi-View feed. It was pretty good.
Great win for Team USA and definitely a 'feel good' event - but not very exciting. The second Jordan led off the competition the US was in first and it never changed. That's a good statement about how dominant they were. Jordan-Jade-Simone on vault - you could have just printed the shirts right then. It was over.
still exciting for the other competitors. historic medals for Italy and Brazil. first canadian women's team in the olympics EVER. redemption arcs for many individual gymnasts all around. flavia powering through four events w that heinous injury in the warmups. and even tho us were easy favorites, this was a big FU to all the haters post Tokyo for Simone
I agree, the Americans were unbeatable, especially with Jade added on Vault, they had two gold medal Olympic all around champions, and an Olympic Floor Champion. They had a great all around gymnasts and world floor silver medalist. I was still impressed with the Italian team though. They have promising juniors and I am wondering if they will continue being a medal threat in the coming quad.
I'd name them "the femme fatale five" they slayed like the baddest queens.
AYE!! LOVE THAT!
@@aliciamcdonald7105 Thanks, they are way to great to have that awful name, I get itr is funny but they deserve a cooler name.
@@2FLIPS3.5TWISTSIt was a joke. They are officially the golden girls!
I really liked the name Kathy Johnson Clarke came up with-- The Phoenix Five! They rose from the ashes of all their personal struggles and the challenge of Tokyo to get Gold!
I‘d just go with Femmes Fatales. No need for the five. Great suggestion, though.
We're going to need to see a screen shot of Ali's sparkly shoes!
I do think it’s very important to recognize that the US lead in E scores as well - sometimes I feel like people think the only reason the US performs well is high D scores and that’s just not the case.
I’ve enjoyed these recap-podcasts, but I do miss the mix zone interviews
We're not allowed to record them at the Olympics. All we can do is take notes and report anything noteworthy.

Thoughts about who will be invited on Simone's post-olympic tour?
Hezly is one I think who may get invited and maybe Suni because she's not going back to Auburn.
Brody, Stephen, Fred, and Paul are on already, along with Jade, Josc., and Jordan.
Curious if Shilese will still be there given her injuries 😢
@@abbyo6311 She has a torn ACL and meniscus and that rotator cuff. I think she should sit this one out and heal.
Maybe Suni? They have some spots to fill since some gymnasts got hurt during trials.
F around and find out 5!!👏👏👏👏 I love it.
Jade Barboasa had a potential to deliver MUCH more considering her experience.
Love love you guys’s coverage. Can’t wait for AA tomorrow ❤
If you take the highest vault and the average of the others, it would seem Simone has a 1.4 advantage over Andrade in the all-around.
This was the expected podium finish, glad they all survived this without serious injuries.
One of the Italians was limping the entire competition. Am hoping it’s not really a serious injury though
I think both China and France need to rework their entire program in terms of culture and sports psychology. Yes, the Chinese also continue to fail finding better vaulters, but one can pretty much count on them falling on even their best events. Negativity/pressure/fear has been shown in so many studies to be destructive. Positive reinforcement/emotional safety are much better at getting results. Has been proven once again with France’s meltdown. I hope heads will finally roll and they revamp the program with better people in charge.
I absolutely love the podium, but I have to say that Rebeca was given several gifts in terms of scoring, particularly on beam and floor! And when you think it was a couple of tenths between winning a medal or no medal at all... makes you wonder!
I love Jessica, such a beautiful happy soul ❤️
Do the MAG judges also take a group photo?
So funny about the food because Paris was boasting that the village menu was created by a Michelin three-star chef!
When you are dealing with humans, all of that heat, and that water issue in the Seine...one can never know with an event this size how they chose to cut corners.
love your discussions
Stephen Nedoroscik is 2024's Superman / Clark Kent
I also like it better when they don’t stick their vault. A little rebound IS healthier.
Simone will be back for vault and floor for LA 28.
The USOC will pay her to compete in LA.
Agreed
I was crying more for the Italians than the Americans. We all knew the US was unbeatable and would rock the house, but no one was talking about Italy and Esposito, who reminds me of an Italian Mustafina. If she can add more difficulty, she would be an amazing all arounder in the next quad. Italy is a dynasty in the making.
P.S. I hate Putin, and am Ukrainian myself and I am all for economic sanctions, but I think it was wrong to ban Russia from the Olympics. Sports and politics should be separate and especially considering that in Russia political dissidents are murdered and often sent to labor camps. There was no way the Russians could habe competed under a neutral banner even if they secretly oppose the war.
First, I totally agree with your view of Esposito. I think she is going to really challenge in the coming years for a podium finish in an international competition if she sticks around and add a little bit here and there. As for your position on Russia, I absolutely do not agree. As I said in another post, no one should expect these athletes to be VOCAL in their opposition to Russia's war mongering actions in Ukraine but we should not expect them to be VOCAL in their SUPPORT for those deeds EITHER and sadly some of them have been.
These kinds of team sports are sponsored/managed/controlled by the Russian government of that there is NO DOUBT and as such it is hard to sanction the government without sanctioning all the sporting entities to which the government is tied. It is unfortunate but I don't see another way that would not OFFEND the WIDER WORLD on this. This is SMALL PRICE that Russian athletes have to pay for the destruction that the Russian government has wreaked on EVERY DAY CITIZENS in Ukraine.
I would have loved for the Russian team to be at the games in their fullest capacity but I am quite fed up of people pretending that their omission from the games could even BEGIN to compensate the Ukrainian families for what THEY HAVE LOST during this war. It is time you people stop minimizing how EGREGIOUS it would have been for Ukrainian athletes and the MAJORITY of the athletes competing at the Olympics to have Russian athletes there who have CLEARLY supported their government's actions.
@aliciamcdonald7105 well then why wasn't America banned during Vietnam, the Invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan ? If your going to ban athletes, you should do so across the board. The Israeli athlete literally went rockets to Gaza and which is basically an open-air refugee camp, and he was the flag bearer in the opening ceremony. I have family in the Ukraine, and I pray for them every day, but banning Melnikova and Listunova is not going to stop the bombing, and if anything it makes the statement that Putin has the power to ruin the lives of his athletes.
@aliciamcdonald7105 well then you would have to ban the United States because it has waged wars of aggression in the Arab world. Look up how many children died in Iraq and Afghanistan and how many civilians had been killed. Are we sanctioning the Israeli athletes for their support of the bombing of Gaza ? In the case of Russia, their athletes are being coerced and narcissists like Putin get off on being able to control people. Banning the athletes is not hurting his ego.
@aliciamcdonald7105 it's bs to hold the Russian athletes responsible in that cause hold Ukrainian athletes responsible because their leader was warned several times not to do what he did. He was defiant and could have avoided the war for his people . Didn't try to deescalate . Ban them for the being involved in a war in the first place. You can't pick a side... Every side believes they are on the side of righteousness
@davedavey-y8e Russia hasn't had an election in 30 years. Putin has offed every political opponent he ever had, most recently Navalny. You can't even say that he represents the people because the people have no choice. That is why you can't hold Listunova responsible - if you don't have a choice, then you're not really accountable. Let the athletes participate and let the best gymnast win. The American team would have probably beaten the Russians this time around, and that would have been a bigger political statement than eliminating them from the contest.
Regarding Hezly: I don’t begrudge her being picked after what happened - she was the clear choice once 3 top contenders were out. What I do question is the US way of doing trials. Shilese and Skye, at least, had been the clear frontrunners. Why were they forced to do all-around, when they were nursing niggling problems? Brazil had Andrade only do 2 events - notably not including vault. Had the US only put Shi up on bars and beam, she’d almost certainly have been an Olympic champion and qualified to an EF. And in my opinion, she‘d truly earned that this quad. If I was her and I watched Jade doing only vault in TF and Hezly not competing a single event and both of them walking out with golds after the US had made it so clear they wouldn’t take people for 1-2 events, I‘d be pretty bitter. Like sorry not sorry. The US ran several of their top contenders into the ground, which is especially upsetting and inexplicable, when the final team was almost 6 points ahead of the competition.
Because Brazil has Rebecca and only Rebecca.... Philippines has Carlos yulo and Carlos yulo only ... Everyone is replaceable here..the problem was their pacing and ego... Did they really have to be at such high difficulty for Soo long? Shilese was going to fail from the start thinking she was going to catch Simone instead of doing what suni did last quad of reaching a certain point and waiting .. waiting for the moment Simone had mistakes. Morgan hurd made the same mistake as shilese.
Soo did many others during Rios quad
@@davedavey-y8eShilese was never going to catch Simone and I think neither she nor her coach were dumb enough to think that. I agree that her pacing was off, but I don’t think that was ego; it was fearbased. She thought, she needed to cement herself as the number 2 to achieve her goals the second time around. She hadn’t received any attention from Tom, so seemed determined to force people to take her seriously the second time around. While she’s an adult, and she really wanted a shot at the AA, I think that’s precisely where the national performance committee or whatever they‘re called, should be giving some advice. They knew Shi was struggling with her shoulder but she was on any highest scoring team (I‘ve seen the spreadsheets) just with bars alone, so I‘m not sure why they forced her to rush recovery by making her compete AA. Saying Morgan was stopped by ego is honestly insulting. She peaked at the wrong time but that wasn’t so much pacing as just her body being at its best at the wrong moment. And then seriously breaking down from a genetic elbows issue that would have never allowed her to make it.
Skye was not a guarantee unless she maintained her scoring range. Just hit clean and repeat what she did at Classics for Trials. She (and her coach) decided to add a skill on floor and tore her AT warming up on FX. I think she put unnecessary pressure on herself because she knew Shi was coming into trials rested and wanted to not lose too much ground.
Shi was just compounded with injury and petitioned to trials to show her AA.
Shi wanted to compete her bars at trials. She injured her ACL/meniscus warming up vault.
Since we are here, Kayla was the one with the wonky AT that snapped on her vault.
US didn't run them to the ground, their coaches did because they knew Simone, Suni, Jordan, and Jade were strategically applying upgrades. Shi was discouraged to try anymore after she took palm burns grinding through her bars. I repeat, she was discouraged. But the choice was left to her. In the end she realized with compounded injuries her quest to Paris had come to an end. There was no way she was going to be able to petition onto the team.
@@creating1_c1999 pretty much my point... She was not a lock on everyone's team.. not everyone was giving her benefit of the doubt since she passed on all international assignments this. Year. Her domestic consistency isn't an issue it's internationally where she falls apart. But gutted for any one going to Florida the Florida Olympic curse is real. Soo many broken dreams and bodies at that school
@@davedavey-y8eYou could make the same argument regarding falls about Jordan (who fell again this time^^).
Queen Latifah probably doesn't have a deal like Snoop because she's committed to other things which do not allow for her to take time off. She's not interactive with sports as far as I know on her socials. Snoop has been priming for this gig for years. He, Kevin Hart, along with Leslie and a few others have been hyping the Olympics through their socials. Queen is not into the Olympics like that. She loves basketball so you'll find her around those venues. During Tokyo when it was deathly scarce, many of the comedians were piping energy into the space.
So because of feelings can each team be awarded an extra medal to award a person of their choosing or like an injured teammate because it’s killing me that Asia D’Amato didn’t get a medal
Shi kills me. I wanna be happy for Hezly, but jeez. Why didn’t the US allow Shi to cut down on events? Her leg was almost certainly a result of pushing too hard too fast due to her shoulder. She‘d still have contributed more, if they had just decided she wouldn’t have to do all-around and could cut down on hours. After her amazing quad, it’s just not ok that Shi missed the entire Games and has to go another 4 years to finally become an Olympian, hoping her body can withstand it. Hezly walked onto the team at the last second and got a gold without competing a single event in finals. It just doesn’t feel fair.
Thank you for praising the joy on the podium. Marta who?
Jade Barboasa could've delivered MUCH more considering her experience.
Maybe they should try host housing at some future Olympics!
FACTCHECKER = HUSBAND?! I've been a follower for like 5 years and did not know this! 😆
If Brody Malone could have a wobbly qualification round and be allowed an opportunity to hit his routines in the finals, why couldn't Hezly Rivera be afforded the same opportunity for her beam routine?
Because she was always selected as the 4th gymnasts on bars and beam hence why she didn’t compete either in team final.
Because Jordan scored higher in qualifications… and she was still higher today then Hezly was .
Brody has medals and world's experience. He is a specialist on several events. He is a lead senior performer. Hezly is a wildcard at this point, virtually an alternate who by the misfortune of three made the team as the fifth. Her best performance was Day 2 of trials. She's up/down/up/down. Brody has way more stock value due to his experience.
She didn't place in trials anywhere to make her a threat on the mat. Coming to Paris she needed to bring that same flame. She was presented as stealth under pressure. But she floundered to the committee. If they'd put her on and she cost the team the gold medal that committee would have been fired. Hezly wasn't worth the gamble, just to have her do something.
I wish she'd been in the finals, but she didn't place top three anywhere where she should be which was Bars/Beam at any time even during trials. Her beam/bars were the lowest and dropped.
I feel for her but on the positive she is getting a gold medal. Remember there was one spot open that could have gone to any number of girls and it was Hezly's spot. We knew this is the person who was along for the ride and a gold medal. Don't cry for her. She will end up with the rest on the cover of wheaties and doing the television tours. Meanwhile there are three other American gymnasts crying their eyes out they didn't get to compete and they aren't coming home with an olympic gold medal!
@@creating1_c1999 let's be honest Jordan, Jade and Henzley wouldn't have made the team if three better gymnasts didn't get injured. The only locks were Simone and Suni. Suni wasn't that great at Nationals or Trials but she's the reigning Olympic All Around Champion and has been used in alot of the promotional materials for the Olympics.

Hezley Rivera is giving me 2000 Sydney Olympics Tasha Schwikert doppelgänger.
Not at all… Hezly only did okay, while Tasha did the best job relatively to the others as an alternate, which was a total surprise…
@@foodieforyou3165 I’m not talking about her performance. She looks just like her.
Incorrect about the feast at Opening. The Smurf dude said it was meant to be The Last Supper so…
@ 56:29, the creators of that portion of the show did admit that they were trying to do something with the last supper. However, they've also apologized because they didn't realize if would offend so many people. They said that they were trying to do the opposite by trying to be inclusive. But yeah, they were trying to mix the concept of the last supper with Greek mythology.
It was BEYOND STUPID AND OFFENSIVE!! They absolutely knew what they were doing! They wanted to be controversial, well congrats you got your way and now MILLIONS of people have boycotted the Olympics. There were soooooo many awful aspects of the opening ceremony. But I'm just here to support the USA athletes.
They were inspired by the *picture* of the last supper (which honestly isn’t all that accurate either - funny, how no-one takes issue with a bunch of people from the ME being depicted as white blondes). That said, I don’t get why it’s offensive; I truly don’t. Jesus was constantly hanging out with people that the heretics looked down on. He was about inclusivity, compassion and told people not to judge etc. The type of pearl-clutching „Christians“ that are constantly virtue-signaling while condemning most of the world and are looking to be offended have absolutely nothing in common with the person they claim to worship.
I think they named the girls, the"Golden Girls"
Hezly Rivera: with all my respect, it was the easiest way to get a medal!
What she did didn't even count to the teams qualifying score. They should have taken Leanne for her experience alone. She could have done floor instead of Suni.
@@iamsoverybored878not Wong...should hand her Gold medal to Roberson
@chcandela74 I get what you mean she was the first alternate, but I like Wongs gymnastics more, and she has more world experience.
So easy because she didn’t have have to compete at nationals and trials. She didn’t have to outperform Wong and Roberson in the 2 apparatus the team needed to fill. Bless your heart though sweetie.
I havr a lot of respect for Team USA. They have gone through so much and have excelled. I love that the gymnasts are actually happy when other countries did well. I wish all sports treated their competitors thr same way.

What did she say??? I missed it!
How about we don’t talk about this? It’s been a huge scandal and I‘m honestly a little sad, Simone brought it back up with her tweet today. Right now should just be a moment of positivity. Mykayla has a way of putting her foot in it, though as someone who watched her channel a lot, I think it was another instance of pure ignorance and poor wording rather than malice. I think, the focus right now should be on the team. Also, at this point, Mykayla has had enough in terms of people dumping on her. There were around 5k comments about her on Reddit/gymnastics in the days after her video and they were saying way worse things about her than she’d been saying about the team. I am not in any way agreeing with Myk, but I think it’s super problematic when the „justified rage“ turns into non-stop personal attacks and bullying. Myk has apologized and she is a product of an abusive environment, too. So, I wished everyone would just move forward rather than gearing up for another round of trashtalk.

We barely got to see anyone with the feed but I’ve been complaining about those close ups forever now. I don’t need a close up. I want a whole body shot just like I would watch it in the stands. I don’t swing with bars when I watch it therefore pull back the frame and show the whole thing please. Same thing with a dance routine. Don’t show me just the feet ffs!’ It’s infuriating. The U.S. has millions of more blood on their hands than Putin and continuing to push him as all evil is ridiculous propaganda. The U.S. has invaded and bombed countless countries and have never had to sit out while the world hisses at them like is being done to Russia, their athletes and their president. The U.S. is sponsoring a genocide but they competed today. Over a million Iraqis in the grave yet they competed in the 2000’s. We’ve only not been at war as a country for 19 years. Shame on your one sided commentary on this issue sponsored by the war machine stealing from all the tax payers to enrich themselves with no end in sight demonizing other systems always to continue their theft.
You need Jesus.
@KelsKingdom1 right cause ignoring the crimes of our own empire should always go unsaid.
@KelsKingdom1 they brought it up. I didn’t just add that thought from thin air. Putin bad mkay is not the answer for all the meddling our government has done there and continued to do with our public money without declaring war through the congress.
Correction . The USA was bombing Yemen during the Olympic Games . And I am horrified how the world did not kick them out
Why do you all gush over everything Chiles says and does. All her dancing, now this comment on name of the team ? It's not cute...she's crude. How can it be redemption when the Russians werent there ?
She can be happy !!! Let her dance . Sheesh ..
Brazil should thank Russia.
I don't see this as a redemption team due to no Russian women's gymnastics team. When the Russian teams return to the world competition, I'm guessing they will be close to the top or at the top in gymnastics.
@@creating1_c1999why?
@@robertoomena3801 Because if Russia was present Brazil wouldn't have been on the podium for bronze.
Me: Jordan signing autographs halfway through instead of focusing? Unwise.
Me: Jordan is not lined up for beam right.
Jordan: ::falls off beam on mount she was not lined up for correctly::
Me: Jordan should have spent more time focusing on her beam routine in a few minutes instead of signing autographs.
Sign them after. Focus. Or during individuals do whatever hi the team did not need that pressure on beam. STUPID MISTAKE caused her to to fall and it was an attention error.
Let’s not
Really? Interesting. I felt SO bad for Jordan to be tasked with doing the all around today when she won't get to go for the individual medal while Suni does (and I am THRILLED for Suni)... But somehow your story makes me feel like, well, okay then.
I also thought it was in poor taste to be signing autographs before the job was done.
@@justlina2769 I just feel like during team finals, your focus shouldn't be on autographs. At least until you're done for your part (Jade was done, Hezly was not competing, so that would not have stuck out to me). There's a reason MOST gymnasts won't wave to the crowds from the podiums until their last routine of the competition day - they are focused. Then they let the attention swing to everyone there to cheer them on. I dunno, I mean obviously it isn't a massive thing, but I don't think it's coincidence that she was doing that just MINUTES before she fell off beam in a really silly way. I mean not lining up correctly? That's... basic.
@@vjones4769 Glad it wasn't just me that noticed😂 Like I said, there are bigger problems in the world, and maybe I'd feel differently if she then proceeded to hit the rest of her performances. Problem is, she did that moments before falling in a really silly way. Mistakes happen but she can't say she was fully focused and when the team is relying on you - ESPECIALLY as event anchor, and on beam no less - you owe it to your teammates to be fully present.
You guys giggling and co signing Simone's shenanigans is nauseating
You should be nauseous at yourself sitting through watching it. Scroll past it next time.
@@likeisaidjenkins3689 I did quit listening fyi
Just curious, what shenanigans are you referring to?
