      I feel for Alice D'Amato and would have been happy if she won Italy's first all-around bronze, but just as happy that Suni ended up winning it. Her floor routine was the best she could have done at the right time, and even her dance improved from the team final. I want a bar and beam medal for her, and with how China has been performing, it's possible for her to win even with lower difficulty.

      How can you say the women were fighting when the D and E scores literally declared the winners. Between the first and last place winners, there was a nine point spread. Between Simone and Alice, there were over two points! Many of the gymnasts didn't even make it to the 14.00, and their start values were too low to make a difference!

    • @ravanne3746
      @ravanne3746 Месяц назад +8

      @@fredrika27 There were a number who were contending to be on the podium. While Simone and Rebeca had the highest D scores across the board, the two of them had a real battle for the gold medal which was very exciting. And the battle for bronze was very fierce and hinged on a few mistakes here and there through the event.

    • @fredrika27
      @fredrika27 Месяц назад +5

      @ravanne3746 The scores were:
      Biles 59.131
      Andrade 57.932
      Lee 56.465
      Simone had a 1.199 advantage over Rebecca and 2.166 over Suni, while Rebecca had 1.467 lead over Suni.
      The only time things got challenging between Simone and Rebecca was when Simone performed poorly on bars. She broke form, and the judges were brutal in their scoring, treating her break in form like she fell from the apparatus! If anything, the scoring should have been reexamined, but Simone showed her sportsmanship by not spending her €200 on their pettiness!🤣🤣🤣 Simone went into concentration mode and let her competition below her shell out their 🪙 💰 for the digital proof of violation!!!
      That was a wake-up for Simone to stop making so many mistakes despite being ahead of Rebecca. However, the gold was decided when Simone did her vault that basically gave her a one point lead, which is a huge lead in Olympic history!
      Likewise, Rebecca had left both Suni and Alice D'Amato in the dust. If anything, the real fight was for bronze between Suni and Alice, who scored 56.333 but lost to Suni by .132!
      That was the nail biter, and not Rebecca losing to Simone by more than a point!
      Let's face it, many of the gymnasts were STRUGGLING to make it past the 52.000 mark! Many, including the Chinese, had start values of only 13.500 when a value of 15.000 is needed in all four or at least two disciplines to even be a contender!
      Within the last four Olympic cycles, never has the number of points been as high as what Simone, Suni, and Rebecca have posted in the last two Olympics.
      Therefore, winning by one and two full points for me isn't a nail biter, especially for Simone and Rebecca who consistently leave their teammates and competition in the dust!

    What always amazes me is the level of amazing sportsmanship we see in WAG. The number of elites at the top of the sport is very small and they all know one another pretty well. Simone and Rebeca were in a real battle for the gold medal after the second rotation and even though Simone really needed to do better than Rebeca on BB to pull ahead, she was still cheering Rebeca on from the sidelines and urging her to do well and the way she hugged Rebeca after her FX showed more than anything the kind of people they are. It’s a little sad Andrade isn’t planning on continuing All Around. Obviously, competing in the era of Simone pushed her to heights she might not have reached otherwise. But it just seems a little sad she won’t get a chance to win the AA gold because she was competing in the era of the Goat… (yeah, I know, she had the 2021 shot but Rebe still improved afterwards and would’ve won gold by a large margin this time, if Simone hadn’t come back.)

She has already been piled on by thousands of people to a point where it went way beyond holding her accountable. She’s really been called every name in the book, apologized and reflected on why she said these things. At that point, the team obviously doesn’t need to accept her apology but to come out, and publicly troll her is simply petty and immature. It frankly gives HS mean girl behavior.
