- Do you ever feel like you or your kids are spending way too much time on your phones? Have you ever caught yourself scrolling for hours on end? When so much of our lives center around our phones, it’s hard to know how much screen time is too much. For answers, Dr. Sanjay Gupta sits down with self-described “mediatrician”, Dr. Michael Rich, (www.childrenshospital.org/dir...) who co-directs the Clinic for Interactive Media Disorders (www.childrenshospital.org/pro...) at Boston Children’s Hospital. Sanjay talks with Dr. Rich about his unique approach to treating young patients with problematic media use. Also, we hear the story of one college student who got lost down a TikTok rabbit hole.

I am new to the stock/crypto market. Every stock that I bought so far, I was out of luck because I bought them when they were expensive. I feel I missed out on all the stock opportunities so far for the tech stocks.l believe having 175K yearly income would be a good investment so I want to plug all my savings into the stock/Crypto market. I know this sounds a bit dull but I would like to know if I should learn investing or let somebody else (more capable like a FA) do it for me? Please share your thoughts. I am kind of tired of searching for a good stock/crypto to buy and losing all the good opportunities..
Indeed crypto is the best investment, Earning3x my salary soon I won't have to work anymore..women should start taking part in these kinds of digital investment
The only safe reliable, genuine and highly experienced expert I can refer you to is Mrs Claudia Walter's.

I agree about the problem with it not being something you can just completely cut out because it's beneficial or even necessary to some degree. I don't have an issue with social-media, but I spend literally _all day_ on RUclips. For every channel I unsubscribe from, I subscribe to 2-3 more. When my Internet goes out and I can't connect, I get filled with a tremendous amount of stress from worrying about what I'm missing and by the thought of the watch-later list growing and growing, but after a while, when I accept there's nothing I can do, I feel a tremendous amount of relief, like a massive weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I'm suddenly free, I can do any of the million other things I need or want to do. … Until the Internet comes back. - Even worse, I generally limit myself to educational channels, so I can't just cut it cold-turkey because it's not bad, it's "good", it's just there's way too much of it. As with all problems in the world, it's because of human overpopulation; if there weren't sooo many people, it would be easier to watch only a handful of educational content and still have time for life. 😒
2:46 reducing my "screentime" here not watching a poscast, that's not even interesting, any longer. You're helping more that you know Sanjay
Good work! I am sharing this with others. The comparison with Binge Eating Disorder vs addictions is inciteful and helpful to understanding the challenge. Your video has helped me. Thank you!
Ironically, this 35 minute video maxed out my screen time.
Very interesting and insightful discussion. Some very obvious points.
Thank you for sharing this. 👍
I was the victim of a fishing scheme on RUclips a year ago. I'm still dealing with the mental and now physical complications that come with it. Its extremely complicated. I wish there was no such thing as social media but I wont lie and say I'm not still dealing with this dangerous addiction
You literally posted this video two days ago at the exact same time. What's going on? Need ad revenue or something?
Maybe they deleted it and it's a re-upload

I don't like cnn but I like your program. 😊
I just got rid of my tic-tok about 3 weeks ago. I honestly never really cared for or watched it much anyway
if you enjoy tiktok then there is no problem using it but I don’t use tiktok I use youtube.
I was on TikTok for atleast 5 minutes and the ridiculous conspiracy theories and wacky music videos nearly enraged me beyond comprehension. So these social media apps are ultimately here to slow us down.
Very interesting 🧐 indeed…
One second of news!
I'm working on my job six out of seven days and on the computer on my day off, so I don't really care about "too much screen time."
What is a Tik Tik? I keep hearing about people being diagnosed with too much of it.
This is the ultimate first world problem and the blame is ultimately on the individual for lack of self control. It's not the app's fault that people spend all night in it. People are responsible for their own behavior. Not defending the app because it's absolute garbage, but this can be applied to video games, drugs, porn, whatever.
I think we have all played video games till the sun came up. Fortunately for me, it was Saturday...
I told my kids it was time to go to bed because I wanted to play GTA (playstation2) in the morning my son asked me if I had been playing all night, I lied and said that I woke up early. They left for school and when I heard them coming home in the afternoon, I lied again and said I just started. I got busted one day when my son showed me the stats I (an adult of 50 years) had been playing double as much as my 2 sons combined.
How much screen time is too much? The moment your gaze merely brushes up against the screen you begin to develop a shit outlook on life, less regard for facts and a general Karen attitude. The trick is to know what to look for and to spend only as long in there as necessary. Much like Ama, the Japanese pearl diving women. Who free dive for pearls for a living and have to learn when they have collected enough before surfacing for breath.
Where's Don Lemon???😂😂😂
I don't know how much screen time is too much, but I cant afford this 30 minute report to cut into my allotted time. There's only 24 hours in a day. #barcasim
Just learn piano and try to play all Beethoven sonatas by the age of 80. Or other musical instrument and learn real Music. Same with other arts, science.
I would say, 32 minutes and 52 seconds.
This video is too much screen time
Adding another 32 mins, is it worth it?
To be honest,I don’t really care about my screen time.
We are such disgusting animals. We have failed the test and we sit here acting like it is carbon. No it's this it is that. I remember i was 16 and had 2 ripped pictures from a magazine under my bed for months. That was enough and I didn't spend all day obsessing about these obvious mental abnormalities. Go to every kids house in the neighborhood to collect the troops. I am not that old but the difference in just 16 years is more than I could of ever believed. Don't believe kids aren't being completely indoctrinated in school, than on tik tok where all the popular activists get them after. College kids can't even read well. I mean wth?
