I love the progression of Rockwell through the maps. Each map he grows more and more egotistical and narcissistic. Had he been handled correctly he may have been saved from himself but nobody knew HOW mad he was growing cause he always holds his information and intentions so close to his chest. He actually starts as a somewhat decent man. Then he grows unstable as his ego grows and his principles bend and eventually you can’t call him anything less than a mad scientist off his rocker.
I noticed the same thing actually. I’m a new player to Ark, still learning the Island. I have one character in single player called Natasha and one on a multiplayer server called Sophie. It’s interesting having the two to compare. Single player is easier with everything centred around me, but while multiplayer is more dangerous because everyone else and many of the dinosaurs are higher level despite being PvE, the other players often help and teach me. I’m going to advance the two characters concurrently. Anyway both Natasha and Sophie seem to be a lot of Meiyin, mixed in with some of Walker and a good amount of “early stage”Rockwell. Additionally I noticed that Nerva grew increasingly unstable and egotistical as the story progressed. He became very almost as bad as Rockwell once he started believing that the Obelisks were some kind of weapon that he could use to destroy his enemies even though it was costing his hard-fought “New Legion” heavily. While this video has been of magnificent help in making sense of the explorer notes and given me a goal to achieve beyond simply surviving and mastering the whole Island I’m encouraged to continue playing and getting further because I’m curious. It’s obvious that all of these events with Walker, Rockwell ect took place a long time before our character wakes up on the beach naked like they did. There are only tiny broken ruins around these notes and all the tribes are gone. Also it seems they didn’t have the system of waking up in a new body every time they died nor being able to loot the old one. Curious. I wonder if it’s some kind of transferring the mind of say, Natasha, into a freshly cloned body whenever she dies. I wonder if there’s a whole cryogenic storage system with hundreds if not thousands of mindless cloned bodies waiting to receive the mind and be teleported to the spawn point/sleeping bag whenever the last cloned body got killed? Heh, I’m just speculating. When I get far enough myself ingame I’ll watch the next video and find out.
I like how the lore acknowledges how fucked up the ecosystem is. How unrealistic and unnatural it is, and yet the fact it being acknowledged makes it amazing. Like the characters are realizing how terrifying that is, and that they’re in something much larger than can be understood.
That's how ARK can evolve so quickly and amazingly... they turn a huge hole in logic into a reasonable and understandable storyline that skyrockets another predictable survival game into an unimaginable submergance of futuristic gameplay and lore...that's a big reason ark is so amazing. A quote form a great RUclipsr... "if you saw where ark was going, you're lying to me, and you're lying to yourself" one of the most invigorating aspects of ark is how far the devs have taken it. @@andrewlounsbury9733 Exactly. I'm surprized how many of the game mechanics of which i was convinced were just the way they are was just for gameplay purposes actually fit so well into the story. Given how poorly written alot of modern cinema and shows are, I unfortunately have grave doubts. Let alone the shaky history of video game and book adaptations. Now the Netflix Cyberpunk anime was a notable exception, bankrolled by a successful game studio and managed by a high-end anime studio, Trigger. Unfortunately the group doing the Ark series is little known. Also nothing wrong with good female characters; however, the trope of strong, independent female characters has taken a really lazy Mary Sue turn. Some 90lb (soaking wet) teenager with little training wrestling specop soldiers is laughable at best. Let alone any notable male characters being rewritten as stupid and weak. Agreed. It helps me to hear all the explorer notes in order. It’s given me both new knowledge and inspiration to explore more of the biomes that I haven’t spent much time in. This was a wonderful dive into the lord of ARK. This is criminally underrated, I enjoyed every moment! I finally was able to learn about the backstories of the characters thanks to this video! Amazing job to everyone who participated. I'm very excited to see the Survival Story for Scorched Earth!
When I first got ark I was expecting PvP to be just like this. You make good videos and I watch your journeys core around once a week, its just soooo good. Have a good day/night!
Absolute Masterpiece!! 🤘 Watched it with Butch so glad you two have crossed paths. I’m headed to watch your narrated explanation next. I’m already playing ASA but you can never have too much back story. Once again BRAVO!
I loved watching the story unfold and evolve over time since ARK was initially released. I remember when nobody had found all the notes on The Island yet and everyone was really unclear on how to fight the bosses. This game is really organic as far as the lore is concerned, and easily one of the best Sandbox-style narratives ever made. It's incredible how well ARK blends an immersive and deep story while also remaining completely out of the way of the experience of the game itself.
Tell me why I'm almost moved to tears by the fall of Wuzhui. And lil baby Wuzhui at the end. God, props on such a phenomenal performances and editing. I know the Ark Machinima game is barren, but you'd be at the top even if it wasn't.
I’ve probably watched this video 3 or 4 times now and it still feels incredible to be able to visualize the survivors and their stories. It never seems to get old. Very well done, Ned. I’d call this series of yours a masterpiece! Can’t wait for Aberration part 2!
Found you by accident. So glad I did. that was a great piece of content to produce and I loved every second. Now on to scorched earth :D so much to watch, and I got the time!😍
This is amazing! I've only ever collected like 5 of the explorer notes, and never even tried the artifacts, I spend all my time building and playing with the dinos. So this was wonderful to get the full story and background of everything!!! And the voice acting is top notch!!!
I had very similar experience back when I was a new player to Ark. I had to go north to find obsidian and crystal to start building modern technology but I was having so much fun building my bases and taming/breeding my dinosaurs that I almost level capped before I got around to going north. It was even longer before I got around to hunting for the artifacts in the caves. I absolutely hated going caving for quite awhile at first. It was a harsh learning experience and I didn’t properly level them up and train them. Now it’s not so bad in most caves though there are a few that I hate to do.
Minor point. Rockwell supposed be like 29-35 and througg out hit logs he always says how "he could have done that if I were a bit younger" but id like to point out this guy apperently went into a cave by himself with no mount and no one with him. The fact he surivived ajd got it is genuinely impressive to me
I listen to this as I play Ark and every time I hear the voice actor playing Rockwell, all I can picture is David Tennant (or the 10th Doctor) voicing this and I get a huge smile!!
This was an an absolute masterpiece that left me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Between the amazing cast of voice actors, the music and narrative choice. Absolutely amazing mate. Cannot wait for extinction! You deserve millions of views, I'll be sure to watch this 1000x times.
Thank you for putting hits together. I played through Ark but never really got the picture that this video really portrays. Having all the notes broken up actually does a pretty big disservice. To be honest they should have just payed you for this video, and when you collect all the notes, the option to watch your cut-scene should appear. Great work!
This was an amazing video! It was like watching a movie. Excellent work to the voice actors, the in-game actors, and the editors, everybody involved did a fantastic job. I am hooked, and about to watch the scorched stories right now.
Rockwell really embodies the vibe of "British colonizer baffled when foreign groups refuse to partake of habit-forming substances, claims to be misunderstood and refuses to refer to others as anything other than barbarians"
Be proud of this creation man.. because they sure as hell butchered the "animated series". This is without a doubt much better, conveys the emotion perfectly and I had to come back to this after the animated series, I feel for those that only know the animated series and think that's the actual story of ark :[ once again, thank you for this (all of you) and well done.
Absolutely incredible, start to finish! Everything from the buildings, scene setup, camera positioning, editing and phenomenal voice acting made this video truly amazing. Excellent work to everyone involved in the project! I can only begin to imagine how long this took and how much effort went into it.
Absolutely awesome reenactment of the notes and storyline. I've been waiting for someone to put something like this together to really help everyone see the depth of Ark. Although the devs most certainly need to educate their selves on the business side of things, they truly do understand what gamers are looking for, and are gifted at best. 👍🏼
FOR REALLL! The ARK lore, though you would expect a sandbox game to be half-baked, is pretty incredible! So when they literally have a script WRITTEN IN GAME, how did they fuck it up so bad??
Oh it’s simple. They hired “diversity writers” to satisfy their corporate overlords. Not a single one ever played the game. Just read the Wikipedia article and then immediately began working on THEIR story. You know the one where they are competent and tell the men what to do all the time? Oh and they of course didn’t forget to put a chick in it and make her gay.
It truly baffles me how Helena is more likeable in these fan films made in game than in the official animated series, they dropped the ball so hard. Ark addicts are calling it good or atleast decent, but in my humble opinion as a non-biased casual player, it's just trash even if you ignore the wokeness
Even thought I have watched it all separately it was amazing to see it all together and worth watching again! I love the ending with young Wuzhui. Truly amazing what you've made here. =D
saw this recommendation and was gonna hold off until I finished the The Island. then realized how big this game is after playing for 2 months and barely found 1/5 of the notes. finally watched and love every moment of it!
Holy shit, i didnt even know the ARK Team created such a interesting Story. And HOLY SHIT you guys did a wonderfull job by animating, voice acting, building and playing the Story. This was just great too watch, even do i'm very sick with headache and stuff, i just watched this full without a break. Absolute masterpeace and i lay on my knees and beg you for doing all the other Biom story's too.
What a Amazing Art of Storytelling. I play Ark for Years now and now bits n pieces about the Lore. But after watching your Video, it all make sense now. Its like having having a good Netflix Chill watching the Video. Great Job and thanks for the effort and good Time!
Top notch voice acting and animation, lots of fun and good for a drive! Looking forward to the next installment, you have a new subscriber. Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much for making this! I've had 3k+ hours of playing this game but never bothered to really get into the story. This is just perfect! Again, thank you for all your hard work!
Oh wow, this is just what I needed. I’ve started playing Ark Survival Evolved a couple weeks ago. I’ve been exploring, growing and developing a network of outposts across the southern and western edges of the Island. I’ve found great success with the north eastern mountain with obsidian on the sides of crystal at the top using the Argys I caught to drop in, grab the obsidian and crystal and fly out. Repeat as necessary until I have everything I need for my northeastern base. For the most part I’m playing single player though I have created a character on a friendly server and I’ve had fun playing with them too. With both characters I find the exploration notes randomly and out of order so I can’t really make sense of them yet. But there’s one thing I already know. All these stories and characters are long gone by the time my character shows up. I only find very faint traces of their ruins and existence. Don’t get me wrong, I’m having great fun in both modes though in the server it’s not tribes but singular people in massive fortresses with big Wyverns. Still, as a baby player they have helped me so much. One gave me a Theiso and an Argy egg plus saddles when I was only just starting to tame Pterodactyls. It’s great fun, and they can teach me so much. But their server has set things high and it’s often difficult to survive difficult areas there. It’s fascinating contrasting with how I play the game in multiplayer and how I play in single player. My character Natasha is a curious mixture of “Beast Queen”, Walker and a hint of Rockwell. I’d learned about the dragon and teleporting being related to the Obelisks through one of his notes. I don’t quite understand it all. The characters seem to come from different eras, places and civilisations. All wake up on the Island naked with the device in their wrists and must survive against the dangers. And clearly this has been happening for a long time if the ruins are anything to go by. And if the people are strong enough and smart enough they overcome the natural dangers of the Island as my Natasha is learning to do, and become strong enough to defeat the dangers of the caves and the monsters of the Obelisks to… earn the right to see the Arks and travel between them? I suppose the different maps now make sense. Aberration, Ragnarok ect are all separate domed Arks in orbit around a clearly dead, barren Earth below. But it seems like these people that came so long ago didn’t have the same system where they would be immediately respawned in a new body upon death, let alone actually be able to actually go to their dead body and loot it if it’s not too dangerous. In single player mode it’s just you alone. Admittedly while I have a mild preference for it, the lack of anything but animals is a little lonely. I’d much prefer npc tribes to interact with. Natasha is in for a very lonely adventure. But then again while the server where my Sophie resides can be tough, hopefully I can continue to compensate enough to progress or my fellow players will continue to teach and assist. And while I’m curious about how the story continues, I’ll wait until I’ve gotten to that orbital space station myself before I watch the next. At least now I have an additional goal beyond mastery of the whole island. The frozen north and the redwood forests still need to be mastered as I have the beaches, jungles and plains. I haven’t enjoyed a game so much in years.
ok I am going to comment again. because I need to give credit to the absolutely amazing voice acting. While watching this HLNA came to life, Rockwell was uncannily like david tennant.. just me? Mei yin moved me the most and Nerva was perfect. Thank you all so much
I was looking for a compilation of the explorer notes b/c I want to create a map to play on that reflected those notes, and I came across this. Beautifully done, and had been a great help for my server project!
This is awesome!! I've been watchinf Syntac's "Ultimate Ark" series and in the comments someone shared a google doc with all notes in chronological order. I read all the notes before watching Syntac play the map. I've also been filling in my boyfriend on how amazing the story is just from notes alone. I can't wait to show him this series. Thanks so much for making this!

I got to be honest this is better then the animated series idc what anyone says
Absolute Masterpiece!! 🤘 Watched it with Butch so glad you two have crossed paths. I’m headed to watch your narrated explanation next. I’m already playing ASA but you can never have too much back story. Once again BRAVO!
It's really damn well done how you can see rockwell's decent into his element obsessed madness throughout this series.
Neddythenoodle series > Ark animated series
I loved watching the story unfold and evolve over time since ARK was initially released. I remember when nobody had found all the notes on The Island yet and everyone was really unclear on how to fight the bosses. This game is really organic as far as the lore is concerned, and easily one of the best Sandbox-style narratives ever made. It's incredible how well ARK blends an immersive and deep story while also remaining completely out of the way of the experience of the game itself.
All the voice actors did a great job! Excellent video.
Tell me why I'm almost moved to tears by the fall of Wuzhui. And lil baby Wuzhui at the end. God, props on such a phenomenal performances and editing. I know the Ark Machinima game is barren, but you'd be at the top even if it wasn't.
I love when a game has good lore
I’ve probably watched this video 3 or 4 times now and it still feels incredible to be able to visualize the survivors and their stories. It never seems to get old. Very well done, Ned. I’d call this series of yours a masterpiece! Can’t wait for Aberration part 2!
Same here!
I expected this to a cringey mess but I am extremely enjoying this. It feels like something the Devs would make themselves.
Absolutely incredible. So well done it's hard to believe it is fan art. The voice acting was so good.
Found you by accident. So glad I did. that was a great piece of content to produce and I loved every second. Now on to scorched earth :D so much to watch, and I got the time!😍
This is way better than the Ark animated series lmao
The fact he surivived ajd got it is genuinely impressive to me
The story of Ark is already a good one, but you really bring it to life! What a wonderful retelling of the story. The voice actors are amazing!
7:09 that fish is certainly fresh!
I enjoyed watching them all together. I love how you included Mei Yin's theme!
I listen to this as I play Ark and every time I hear the voice actor playing Rockwell, all I can picture is David Tennant (or the 10th Doctor) voicing this and I get a huge smile!!
We need a tenth doctor in the Cretaceous…
Me too, his voice is beautifull
@@thephasmidpharm459 imagine an Ark live Action movie with David tennant as Rockwell xD
_guess what_
This was an an absolute masterpiece that left me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Between the amazing cast of voice actors, the music and narrative choice.
Absolutely amazing mate. Cannot wait for extinction! You deserve millions of views, I'll be sure to watch this 1000x times.
This is way better than the animated series. The animated series done the biggest disservice to the original story*
Thank you for putting hits together. I played through Ark but never really got the picture that this video really portrays. Having all the notes broken up actually does a pretty big disservice. To be honest they should have just payed you for this video, and when you collect all the notes, the option to watch your cut-scene should appear. Great work!
These make me hyped for the animated series.
Anime is terrible and cartoons are for children

This was an amazing video! It was like watching a movie. Excellent work to the voice actors, the in-game actors, and the editors, everybody involved did a fantastic job. I am hooked, and about to watch the scorched stories right now.
Rockwell really embodies the vibe of "British colonizer baffled when foreign groups refuse to partake of habit-forming substances, claims to be misunderstood and refuses to refer to others as anything other than barbarians"
i dont care what anyone says... im still watching these even a year later and they are STILL interesting.
fr
Be proud of this creation man.. because they sure as hell butchered the "animated series". This is without a doubt much better, conveys the emotion perfectly and I had to come back to this after the animated series, I feel for those that only know the animated series and think that's the actual story of ark :[ once again, thank you for this (all of you) and well done.
Hands Down BEST VIDEO ever created!! Thank you for everything you have done for us :)
Hey dude, we're like twins
I have a feeling this is better than the animated series ever will be, I love it Neddy!
I can’t wait for this, I believe Neddy is perfect for this
The guy voicing Nerva almost wants to do a Scottish accent, even though the character is Roman. This video is a work of art nonetheless.
The actor is Scottish, but he did try and tone it down a little :)
@@NeddyTheNoodle got nothing but love for Scotland and the people
Love these! Keep going!
Thank you! Will do!
Absolutely incredible, start to finish! Everything from the buildings, scene setup, camera positioning, editing and phenomenal voice acting made this video truly amazing. Excellent work to everyone involved in the project! I can only begin to imagine how long this took and how much effort went into it.
Y'all just blew me away! I couldn't stop watching and lost a couple hours at work to boot! Please keep up the fantastic work!
If I had the money, I'd pay a fortune to have a whole series made with these voice actors!
Better Than Ark the animated series
Ark animated series is still great
@@simmiehoeft2591 as a fanfiction sure
I have not finished the show but yes
Absolutely awesome reenactment of the notes and storyline. I've been waiting for someone to put something like this together to really help everyone see the depth of Ark. Although the devs most certainly need to educate their selves on the business side of things, they truly do understand what gamers are looking for, and are gifted at best. 👍🏼
This is what the show should’ve been
Agreed. This is the best explanation of the explorer notes and the stories of those long-ago characters whose only remnants are ruins.
This was one of the best videos I’ve ever seen on RUclips we need more!
What I don’t get is how the hell they failed to adapt this to a show format.

Huge respect for the amount of work that got into this!
I enjoyed it alot!!!
Even thought I have watched it all separately it was amazing to see it all together and worth watching again! I love the ending with young Wuzhui.
Truly amazing what you've made here. =D
Thanks. I may have given the wrong impression, that was my head cannon for Wuzhui having a kid before he died.
Thanks!
Thanks mate :)
"I knocked her unconscious"
*Helena proceeds to be flung 15 feet backwards.*
saw this recommendation and was gonna hold off until I finished the The Island. then realized how big this game is after playing for 2 months and barely found 1/5 of the notes. finally watched and love every moment of it!
To the dude who voiced Rockwell: That's actually a really good David Tennant impression, good work my dude
What a Amazing Art of Storytelling. I play Ark for Years now and now bits n pieces about the Lore. But after watching your Video, it all make sense now. Its like having having a good Netflix Chill watching the Video. Great Job and thanks for the effort and good Time!
You're an Ark Legend now, if you were not already. Thank You for this.
This is awesome and deserves so much more views!
Top notch voice acting and animation, lots of fun and good for a drive! Looking forward to the next installment, you have a new subscriber. Keep up the great work.
I love ARKs lore, so many don't know how in depth it is. Great Job!
Thank you so much for making this! I've had 3k+ hours of playing this game but never bothered to really get into the story. This is just perfect! Again, thank you for all your hard work!
This was genuinely impressive. Now I wanna watch the animated series.
You earned yourself a like and a new subscriber, I hope you guys make more of these,I really enjoyed it 😁
Oh wow, this is just what I needed.
"A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one."
To walk out onto the island for the first time again
ok I am going to comment again. because I need to give credit to the absolutely amazing voice acting. While watching this HLNA came to life, Rockwell was uncannily like david tennant.. just me? Mei yin moved me the most and Nerva was perfect. Thank you all so much
*_nobody tell this person the news_*
This is way superior than the animated series.
every scientist villain ever is English for some reason
This series is wonderful, it really brings the lore to life!
I was looking for a compilation of the explorer notes b/c I want to create a map to play on that reflected those notes, and I came across this. Beautifully done, and had been a great help for my server project!
This was incredibly well done. It was amazing . Thank you all 💗
Bro how is this vid not more popular
Ark lost most of its mainstream popularity after scorched earth
Didnt expect to watch a feature lenght ARK: The Island movie, but here we are. And I loved every second of it.
