You're content is underrated, theres some ok testing of some plates on other channels but yours always has everything you need to know
Thank you!
Nice I have the regular 1155 been wanting to see multi curve !!
Thank you
this video is very nice.
Thank you! Did you end up here after watching MAC destroy one?
Would you pick these or Spartan Armor Ares? And secondly to date which level 4 body armor is the most supior? In your opinion
I'd pick the Ares over these because of the less weight, and them stopping my M2Ap at higher speed. The toughest Level IV I've tested to date is the RMA 1189
@@BuffRANGE Thank you
@@BuffRANGE Now would you choose the Ares or RMA 1192? Which is stronger.
@@thealize808 Honestly the 1192 MIGht be stronger if the backer is pressed. But I haven't tested it yet. I've been asking RMA for a year + to test it, but customers come frist. Call their support # and ask for me to test it :D
@@BuffRANGE will do
Can you try and test spartan level 4 or hesco level 4 or shot stop level 4
Spartans is going live Tuesday. Hesco could be someday need to get a plate. Still in talks with ShotStop
@@BuffRANGE sweet i was pretty intrested in both of them and you tests are as close to the nij standards i can find even though you go over their standards . It would be nice if you tried 16 inch barrel for the 5.56/.223 rounds before you move all the way up to 22" TC Compass.
@@oleredwhiteandblue3613 with level IV generally only m995 is a concern so usually that’s why I always start with the 22” :) I think you’ll like what the Hercules can do :)
I was bummed to see that you were able to destroy the hoplite level IV with a hot loaded xm193 and m855a1 as i had just ordered the hoplite 26300 and couldnt tell they used monotholic ceramic instead of tiles or that it didnt use uhmwpe instead of kevlar as a backer prior to seeing the video , i w
Not bad. Its about time more companies are coming out with low cost multi curves. Good job.
You pay for it in weight but if you're not wearing armor a lot it's worth it
I work with multiple armor companies and a few people have told me this is the only guy in YT that is not completely full of crap and has real content. Watch and get a major knowledge transfer #coltwasneverhere
Love the 300 win mag ... It beats those plates up really well.
It’s not nice in some games though, it does low dmg. 🤣
Dr Matt and Dr GarandThumb on the same day? Going to be a great day for gun science!
Look I wasn't ready for the Dr. Squatch ad parody.
Holy smokes, that second shot of 300 WM was pissin' hot. I love the fact you do the drop test, and also test the M855A1. Is there generally something significantly different between the single curve vs the multi curve? If the single curve passed the NIJ why doesn't that auto grant the multi?
Same materials but curvature in this case makes a new design and new model number so it then needs its own certification.
Just picked some up. Gonna be heavy as heck but it’s not like they’ll get used outside of a crazy scenario
Those new camera angles are awesome Matt, thanks for video! 👍
There are some of use who’d like to see the Hoplite 26135 tested. It’s often considered as a better alternative to the Hesco L210 but rated to level 4. It’s a NIJ 04 plate so maybe there will be a contrast in the testing results between the NIJ 06 vs 04 plates.
04 plates don't have the drop impact requirement so it'll definitely be interesting to see what it stops after the drops.
The 26135 is the pair that Corey H donated. They’ve been dropped tested and I will try to get them done next.
@@BuffRANGE how soon?
@@The_Lane_Splitter it’s tuesdays video. Been up on Patreon for a week or so
You should test hoplite armor
said he would awhile ago being the "next video"
feeling really lied to
Please keep making these videos and keep testing some of the HESCOs/Hoplites, a lot of requests for these. Good stuff.
That's the plan! Hoplites 26135 are next.
@@BuffRANGEkind of a dumb question but how many shots of m2ap do you think this plate could take before failing
@@holymonolith maybe 3 possible 4
Exceptional Work!, Format and Bloopers B :-))
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@BuffRANGE Yup best in the business, keep it pumping.
@@MobileAura Yep i,ll second that :-)))
Wodpecker is on semi auto I hear lol
FULL semi auto even! ;)
After months of researching, I said screw it and finally decided to grab a set of these. Used your code and got them for under 300 shipped.
Edit: I got the single curve 1155 set actually
Thanks Buffman 💪🏼 Keep up the quality content, you have the best armor testing videos by far
It is my pleasure!!! Glad you got a set.
Just saw your reply now, I appreciate it thanks man
Finally pulled the trigger on my 1155s
Quality video as always
Much appreciated
Bubba's pissing hot M2 AP Win Mag. Nice. That's just a cool loading overall, have you thought about trying that against some mild and/or rolled homogeneous armor?
I have never tested the limits of it, but imagine it would do quite well :D
Great stuff! I've been drooling over the new multi-curve, too bad I have two sets of regular ceramic/PE.
What state is your range in? Looks awesome 👌
Michigan
@@BuffRANGE beautiful property. Awesome videos by the way you got a new subscriber
@@smithnwesson990 Thank you. I strive to bring as much info as possible in my videos, and if you can learn something that makes my day.
Please, Please test Premier body armor's new STRATIS IV Enhanced - Multi-curve
Size: 10"x12"
Thickness: .8"
Weight: 4.4lbs
They have any social media posts about it?
@@BuffRANGE I've only seen one video and it was so, so with the test...ruclips.net/video/PhAdPxl0V5s/видео.html
The thumbnail is great.
The .300 WM AP load is what pushed me over the fence to get a Falkor Defense Petra.
Very fun episode
Is there a noticeable difference between single and multi-curve plates when worn?
More comfort and ease of mobility with multicurve
This, battle steel, or lapg
I don't have a comment, I just want to help your channel grow.
Much appreciated!!
Just picked up a set of RMA plates because of your testing. I really didn’t see anything else in the price point that can fit what it does
The 1155 is hard to beat as the cheapest NIJ Certified Level IV
Would really like to see Tactical Scorpion level 3+ Extreme put to the test. They say it stops M855A1, it's really light, and comes multi-curve.
I have their level IV to test. I think based on results from that and popularity their 3+ could be requested :D
@@BuffRANGE I really appreciate your reply! Been watching you channel for years. Great work, and thank you for what you do.
One more thing. Tactical Scorpion has a 3+ and a 3+ Extreme (Ceramic/PE Hybrid). I am specifically curious about the 3+ Extreme. Thanks again!
@@Chuck_Stick Got it. that's the one I am most interested in as well.
very imprssive for multi hits
I wouldn't bother you again because you said you will do it and I am sure you do remember it .... but since you told as too ask for armour testing ...
I am going to ask again for the safelifedefense NIJ certified Level iiia+ panels...
At this this testing If possible I would love to see some 7.62 tokarev pistol threats (7.62×25 Tokarev)
I finally have their FRAS plate for testing. They were sold completely out of IIIA panels when I discussed testing with their marketing person. If the FRAS goes well I am sure they will want to see the IIIA+ tested. I have not forgotten :D
@@BuffRANGE This is awesome!
First off all thanks for replaying to my comment .
More over thanks for no being annoyed from me asking twice the same thing
And of course thanks for trying to make this video possible !!!
Can't wait to see a FRAS Test from you !
Test the safe life defense FRAS
Indeed. I have 1 panel of it at home
Although it's expensive, I would love a video on the safe life flexible rifle plate. I think it's around 400 per plate. it's still a lot cheeper then there full body FRAS system, and I think they have nearly identical construction.
Awesome video my friend!! Would you still recommend these plates currently? Love your content, you earned a sub!
If you can stomach the 8lb each plate, yes. They are still one of the least expensive NIJ CPL listed level IV plates.
@@BuffRANGE thanks so much for the quick reply! I recently got the Agilite K19 3.0, it is super comfortable, Im thinking these will be excellent with it. Ill be going thru your other videos this week, cant believe I just found ya brother!!
@@blankexpression2u YTube I think doesn't like me, or I've been around for so long I have YT has me on a permanent shadow ban

Prettiest man I ever saw
Amazing product and video review. Thank you sir!

Thoughts on safelife defense body armor?
Their FRAS? I have tested the ICW III+ and it performs. I have the standalone III+ to test this summer.
@@BuffRANGE Yes their FRAS
@@thealize808 It's a very capable plate .
@@thealize808 made in Italy using cheaper materials.
It’s pronounced “Kevin” 😂
I got 8.3 on multiple scales for 16.6 for 2 plates
Does RMA use a large ceramic plate instead of tiles like everyone else? Does that actually change anything?
This model uses a solid one piece strikeface. In theory it would be more prone to multiple hits over tiled.
RMA mostly uses monolithic (1 big piece) ceramic for the strike face, but they do have at least one model (#1189) that is the tiled array design.
Would be interesting to see some of these with a IIIA backer
I don't think the IIIA backer would have helped us on the AP threats that penetrated.
From your experience. Who has the strongest level 4 plates?
I know there’s controversy around him but can you test some of hoplites armor?
I figured an overpriced body armor company would do such
It's coming. A follower donated a set of Level IV's awhile back, and now that it's warm They are next.
Controversy? I thought they were just "pro-civilian"
My man Buff!
M995 was fuckin zoomin.
Sucks that these are so thicc and heavy because they are the lowest cost multi curves that can actually stop anything.
And let's be honest here, if you catch an AP round from a .300 WinMag, you probably deserve it.
I would say the thickness isn't the disadvantage here, so much as the weight. But that's edge to edge coverage for you with an Alumina strike face.
Would Love to see Safelife defense Fras tested. 😁
Can you test Hesco 4401?
Got this today. Thanks for the review.
Hope you enjoy it!
@@BuffRANGE FedEx lost the carrier so as of this moment they're basically really heavy frisbees.
I’m pretty positive that M995 is illegal to Sell and to possess
No it isn’t.
Would like to see testing of the Scorpion Tactical multi curve level IV plate. 👍🏻
Id love to see some light weight bullet testing in 30 06 and 300 wm! Think 125 or so grain pushed to max on ar500 and level 4…… thanks for this testing and data! You rock man !!
Thank you for this! Looking to get armor for my new job, you made my decision happen.
My pleasure. My goal with my channel has always been delivering information to anyone looking for it, so that they can be as informed as possible when making buying decisions. I appreciate you taking the time to watch my video!
Have you tested the RMA level 4 lightweight?
Only the 1199 a long time ago. We keep hounding them about the 1192
So m993 penetrated this but not the single curve varient?
M995. It didn't penetrate the single curve because I used the 16" barrel originally. It penetrated on the 22" back then too
Can you try and get your hands on the “new” AR-500 lvl 4 ceramic alsc plate for testing? It’s 3/4 in thick and 7.5 lbs.
I can ask them.
find some old dragon skin to play with
That stuff is overplayed and over hyped. I have some Dragon Skin 2.0 to play with though..
Have you tested the hesco 4400 multi curve plates? I’m trying to decide whether to go with the hesco 4400 mc or these rma 1155 mc. I’m looking to replace the rma single curve 1155 plates in my carrier with a multi curve ceramic plate. I don’t like the way the single curve fits.
I have only tested Hesco's 4400 Single Curve awhile back, and that's since been replaced by the 4401, and I think that might even be discontinued now? There's a lot of Hesco plates I want to test, it just comes down to funds :(
@@BuffRANGE I feel you man. Hopefully somebody can donate a hesco 4400 mc plate to you #forscience. It would be interesting to see how it does compared to the rma 1155 mc since they’re not much different price wise and from the specs, they seem to be pretty similar as far as weight and thickness go. Keep destroying armor bro, these videos are informative as well as entertaining.
I just realized you refered to the 995 as a 100$ dollar bill. Did it really cost that much? Lol
Yes they did!
@@BuffRANGE holy crap, I'll never complain about ammo prices again lol
Well maybe...
Maybe some shot stop lvl 4 In the future
That’s coming as well. They promised me one months ago. This week they said they should have one ready.
I bought some plates from them before they got a NIJ rating on them that they ran a special on, think they were suppose to be exactly like these level 4.
What’s the model # on them? Before 1155 they had them
Labeled 1145.
Will have to pull them out and check. All I can remember is they ran a sale before the NIJ rating went all the way through, but should be a level 4.
Love the video. Be careful or Bruce and Michael Buffer will come knocking for their cut.
OHH true, didn't he copyright "Let's get ready to RUMBLE"?
@@BuffRANGE Yes. They sued the band System of a Down years ago because one of the members was saying it to start their show.
Do one on Botach/Battle Steel level IV multi curve.
I’m pretty sure he did a year or two ago
He's already done that video awhile back.
If I wear a level 2 or 3a soft armor with the rma plate would it stop the other rounds that went through.
It's hard to say without specifically testing it.
@@BuffRANGE I would love to know because in the future I want to run a level 3plus plate with a possible 2 or 3a vest carrier. Im going with light weight plates.
@@The-last-son 3+ plates may benefit from a IIIA behind it. but we'd have to specifically test it.
@@BuffRANGE unfortunately for me our department issues level 2 soft armor. Cheapskates lol.
Interesting takeaway… remember kids, a plate might stop the bullet from penetrating but consider the impact trauma that could kill you too. Good plates disperse that energy.
But they can only disperse so much energy :D
Data from the fbi shows that blunt trauma while wearing body armor is not a significant concern.
What is your go to amor in your carrier?
Thank you
1155, and Militech RF2's
@@BuffRANGE Nice. Thank you for the reply
@@BuffRANGE Militech is made in china?
@@thealize808 Yes sir they are.
@@BuffRANGE I worry about trusting the QC from plates made in china. Especially when it's life and death. Cell phones, TV, clothes don't matter as much lol
Great Channel. Best armor Channel reviewer
Hey Matt, is there any chance you could get your hands on some Ace Link armor for testing? I've seen several videos of their Level III+ and Level IV armor plates, and they were impressive.
I would love to see how they'd do in your more accurate representation of NIJ testing protocol vs. everybody else's backyard tests with the plate just leaning on something. Lol.
I tried at the beginning of the year, and I think the guy forgot about me. I'll reach out to them again.
Do these plates fit in your invictus carrier?
The 1092's fit, these should too :D
300 win Mag +P in my op should be tested on a fresh plate.
I think the previous load weakened the ceramic, prior to the +P .
Love your tests ! ! ! Keep em coming Matt :)
