just looking at the quality of the clothes barbie use to have makes me want to scream at what we get now :/
Yeah, comparing it to one another is almost unfair 😅 the quality back then was exquisite !! 🥲💖
Not to mention the clothing and hairstyles were fashionable and on trend for the time. Barbie clothes now are cartoonish and dated.
She is another cutie on my shelf. Never had her as a kid back when, so now that she is available to us again I couldn't resist. My collection is so mixed up. The only complete series I have left is the Birds of Beauty Swan, Flamingo and Peacock. Not rare at all. One day soon I will make my way back to the Doll Room closet and pull out my remainders. I sold off all my Princess of the World series for next to nothing. Also many others, I regret letting go of some, but thanks to you Arjan, I have a new appreciation for the newer fantasy hair and Barbie Extra Dolls. I never realized their potential until my recent discovery of Barbination my favourite adult channel on RUclips.

Hello! I'm from the west coast too up in the San Francisco area now I live in Arizona. I had a lot of dolls from the 60's but got rid of them because "I was to old" to have dolls. 🙄 I've been making up for my mistake and have a few that I had back then. Francie and Casey are harder to get again because they are too expensive. I wish they'd do a repro of Casey. Of even Twiggy.

Francie was always my favorite as a little girl. I adored her mod clothes. She's still my favorite of all the Barbies.

This is a beautiful reproduction! I have been downsizing my Barbie collection of the past few years and focusing on Francie. I have this doll, all the Silkstone Francie dolls, several vintage Francie dolls, outfits and cases, as well as my original Malibu Francie (yes, I am that old). A Francie was my first doll ever in the Barbie family and I just love how sweet she is. Thanks for the review!

11:54 I think it's better to compare her with Barbie 1966 mold, not with Barbie 1959...it was the new "twist and turn" era and Barbie was more modern too ❤️

I had both Francie and Casey growing up. I didn't have the black Francie, my dad wouldn't allow it, unfortunately. You didn't argue with dad about it, not even mom. I never understood why he was that way until after mom and dad got divorced but by then Francie wasn't around. Like, I mentioned I did have her and the one who's hair "grew", which was my favorite.

I love Francie. Glad to see you are enjoying her as well. Have you thought about swap her body to a Made-to-Move body? I have been doing that with my other Francie dolls and now with the AA Petite MTM, Francie can be articulated and wear her own fashions. When I get a chance to reset my Francie's hair, I will check to see if she can match the AA petite MTM body.

@@Barbination Tamika is close enough, but the first gen Barbie 1959 Petite is a more precise match. Using the petite body for Francie will also allow her to wear Rainbow Hight fashions. Of course, if you use a regular MTM for Francie, her wardrobe can expand even more. By the way, Licca Chan's head on a Francie body looks good to me as well. Skin tone match is not so easy but the Francie body goes well with Licca Chan--still youthful but a bit more grown up and better proportioned in my opinion.

The fashion this doll is wearing is called "Floating-In". It is not a new design.
Also, I don't know where your book gets its information, but there was never a Talking Francie doll. The doll's torso was much too small to house the mechanism.

Do you know that the plastic stands break down in time? I got the anglo reissue with a green dress and coll blue glasses and coll green hat and boots. Well, I have to hold her in the stand with a rubber band now . Her boots are also cracked.
