Roy, I have looked at a lot of videos, but most people don’t show exactly what to do. Your camera work is perfect, and you can see just how this is accomplished. Great job!
Great video, my went out this week and opened up the center console and sure enough the grommet was in pieces... Very easy fix to do your own service and not get ripped off by the dealership thugs...
Absolutely! If you were to take this exact problem to the dealership, they’d tell you to change out the whole cable! Don’t fall for it! Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Thanks! Great information that saved me a lot of money and hassle on my 2007 Titan. Got lucky: my grommet disintegrated in my driveway late on a Saturday afternoon after returning from a road trip with my wife. Ordered the $30 piece of plastic late on a Saturday and truck was repaired less than 24 hours later! (I get the reason for the expensive grommet. The seller discovered a Nissan OEM workaround so he gets rewarded)
2004 pathfinder armada just went out. It's exactly what you had shown. Bought a fix kit online. Too bad it wont arrive till 2 days later. But i can wait. Thank you Roy. Very informative video.
Unfortunately there are a lot of people that don’t know, and a few of my customers told me the dealership told them they had to change the whole gear shift cable!
This helped so much Amazon doesn’t have a single video up of how the tool works or that it makes it so much easier to pull the cable up bc I had already lost the first one I tried to install fighting with how low and tight the cable was, it fell in the abyss of my center console
@@RoysGarage808 finally got it in the mail. Took 20 minutes finding the stupid thing after I dropped it down in there, lol. And 10 minutes to fix it. Thanks again man, God bless
Great video. Thanks for sharing. This happened to my '05 Titan, in 2010 (35k mi.) and the dealer charged me close to $800, and $100 towing. I think I may go ahead and change it again (2021, 71K mi.) and save the hassle. Thanks again. "Live and Learn" !!
Man, I'm having issues trying to find any info on how to remove shift cables from the rubber grommet that I removed from the firewall. It's a 1999 Saturn SC2 manual. The ends of the shift cables have huge ends and I can't see how I can get them out without cutting something
This video helped me tremendously. Fixed my truck within 5 minutes and I'm no mechanic. THANKS FOR THE HELP! 9/18/24 👍🏽
I Paid 13 dollars gear bushing in Amazon and fixed it in two minutes ..THANKS TO YOU.

I was at a stop sign and pressed the gas to go and I heard a bang and lost my gears. Is it possible this is the problem? Trucks starts and runs fine
Great video, but I am still struggling with grommet.

Does it matter what side it’s put on?
What if put the gear on the wrong side? Lol i just noticed that…

Hope you can find your grommet🤙
