When schwarbs was in Iowa he gave my (then) barely 4 year old a ball right in her glove and was SUPER about it!! He was and is her favorite player and he made that a last memory for her!! Also Taylor Davis gave each of my 3 kiddos (6, 4, and 2) at the time a ball and autograph and took time after the game (a loss actually) to talk with my girls about playing ball which they love and he encouraged them to keep playing. He took a good chunk of time, a good 5-10 minutes talking TO them not just at them. He also listened to them and their excitement!! A+ to these guys and the Cubs organization in general!! They were already life long Cubs fans just like me and my dad but that definitely cemented that into them. Those memories are truly priceless!!
I know Torii Hunter since working for his AA Club. I loved that story about him saying to make your autograph clear for the fans. That is so Torii, a super nice guy. With a cool autograph, too!
kristin lampart I am hesitant to agree with you because it makes me seem greedy. Every time the Pirate Parrot (the mascot) comes around, the kids stop caring about players in the vicinity and want to interact more with the mascot.
Listen up ballplayers. You need to sign your name that people can read it, not as a scribble just so you can get done and leave. If it bothers you, then don't do any autographs, because all you do is scribble something on it and move on. So why bother getting a signature done for your fans??? If I went to one of you and you sign the ball and if I cannot read it I will speak up and say whats this written on it? That can be embarrassing when others witnessed you signing my ball and then they too will see it and oh oh, you got a problem.

I'm not even a Cubs fan, but how much do I love Ben Zobrist? And autographs after the game? Super cool.
I hate how they say they always try to go to little kids but the bigger kids are people who wants this autographs more than little kids

Kids who are around 9-13 i would understand but under than that doesnt make sense for that exact reason
Too bad ALL Major League players can't be as nice as Ben Zobrist.

All crap signatures. Harmon killebrew would throw a tirade if he saw some of these
