Another video came up saying exactly "THE BASICS" which was almost 2 hours long. All I was looking for how to get the train going and it was just clicking on it and setting up a schedule. Thanks for keeping it short and simple 👍
I was about to say tha same thing! Thanks @moose2006LP
The damn wait condition is backwards! Instead of “wait if empty” they’re all “wait to be emptied”! Thanks to this I got face-slammed right into my train…
@@andylagger551 "Wait if empty" would cause the train to leave a station the instant anything was placed in it.
This would make it decidedly unhelpful for mass transit of materials.
@@alansmithee419 Still, the wording could’ve been more precise, like, most people wouldn’t think the wait condition “Full cargo” means:
Go to this station and fill up all cargo spaces.
Most people would assume it means:
Go here if cargo is full.
Which I did and that’s why my trains were going back and fourth until it finally ran into me…
@@andylagger551
Do you have any reason to believe that most people would think that (other than the fact that you did)? Because it's a demonstrably wrong interpretation of that condition.
It's a *wait condition.* Why would it mean "go here when..."? It must mean "wait until..." because it's a wait condition and "Wait if..." would be next to useless. What does your interpretation have to do with waiting?
Small bit of clarification:
It does not mean "go here and fill up all cargo spaces."
It means "when you get here stop until all cargo spaces are full, then go."
Wait conditions don't tell the train where to go, only when to leave once there (hence "wait.")
Whichever order you put the stations in in the train's list of stops is the order the train will go to those stops in. You can then add wait conditions to each stop.
What you're thinking of would be named something like "destination condition" if it existed.
That was exactly what I needed! And you did it in far less time than the other videos :)
Its like theres an idea in the Factorio community that if your video isn't long it's not worthy. Also i've never received, so many downvotes as I ever have in the Factory subreddit, its as if they've even automated downvoting.
I know. Fast and compact and not like 40 minutes.
This is the most underrated Factorio train tutorial on RUclips. Short, simple, and sweet, unlike every other Factorio train tutorial on RUclips. 👍🏻
Thanks! That means a lot! I'm glad it was helpful!
real
I was in need for this tutorial just to finish the tutorial xD . " Automate the train "
Same here
Very nicely done. This is a perfect amount to get me over the scary part. Would be great to see a series of like, "Here is how you start. Here is a mid-game / mid-way complexity, and here is a fully operational continental system."
Short and to the point - only had to watch once to get everything I needed. This is how it's done, have a like and subscribe.
Quick, to the point, and descriptive. Amazing tutorial 10/10
This is the best simple tutorial for factorio trains , thanks alot
thanks so much, i was trying so hard to make it go from A to B without a loop
didn't realize i need a second locomotive, thought it can just go backwards like on manual
thank you so much for this... Didn't have to watch an hour tutorial for this
Hello corny
THANK YOUUU. I tried to make one for 2 hours... Thanks.
This was exactly what I needed. just a description for the first steps, no theory or science. Awesome
Excellent tutorial doing exactly what it's supposed to do. No unnecessarily long and drawn-out tutorial about how to craft each item with a lengthy essay about its entire history; just simple and basic. 👍
Even copying the same thing, I am still getting the "No Path" error. 😭
Edit : OK, managed to pull it off finally
Thank you! :) Excelent tutorial, super simple, to the point and extremly helpful
Great video for someone still trying to get through the tutorial. I was getting tired of having to scan 42 min beginner videos and never find the what I was looking for. The Factorio Wiki is very comprehensive describing what things are and what they can be used for, but has very little on what it takes to actually put them to use in the game. Thanks.
Help! I can’t get my train to run both ways I have two trains that over lap each other and I’ve set up the signals correctly but when it gets to one side of the track and loads up on fluid it won’t automatically return???
I learned several things from this. Thank you.
Thank you for keeping it concise!
Thank you for making a much simpler and to the point guide, and thank you for highlighting how to create an efficient loading system, I can’t believe others completely overcomplicate this.
Finally decided to try my hand at trains and this is perfect introduction. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Finally one that’s not an hour long
I just started playing this game . Your tutorial is one of the best trains tutorials out there,
Plain and simple short with tricks.
Thanks mate.
thank you this was really clear and trains seem pretty complex. if you could, could you start putting lamps down so that when night falls, its still easy to see your instruction?
Cheers dude. Exactly what I was looking for!
I know this is an old video, but thank you so much for this. New to Factorio and I couldn't figure out how to get the trains to stop for longer than a second. Lots of videos and tutorials, but they're all like 40 minutes long. You covered everything I needed to know in under 10 minutes. You're the bomb, homie.
Thanks for the tutorial! Very concise and easy to understand, awesome job :)
0:00 Thought I'd tuned into Frasier.
I'm listening.
Thank you, exactly what I needed! My train didn't want to move, I think I need to put my 2e station on the opposite side of the rail ;)
Great tutorial man
Thank you for this SHORT video. I got 20 minutes into a different video and they didn't even explain as much as you in 8 minutes.
thanks; I was starting to think all Factorio tutoriaks were bloated, complex and not beginner friendly but this was good
my hero
wtf you can just make a two-headed train to go back?? I've been building loops in all my tracks, this is so much easier. There's so much this game doesn't even try to tell you
Very epic tutorial exactly what I was looking for.
Amazing you put in 8 min what some needed 20+ and I still didn't know what the fuck I was even watching half of the time. This IS the basics tnx.
Well 2 things I got stuck on....
First is , I did make a train with 2 locomotives, one on each end. The problem is, I forgot to change the direction of the locomotive So one was really just getting dragged along, while the other locomotive is actually the one going forwards or backwards.
This took a while to figure out when I was trying to see why it didn't work to automatically go to each train stop.
The second thing is, a train stop is not the same as the end of the railroad, even if the end is right there at the train stop.
Apparently, the train stop can be off by a little bit from the end . What that means is that if you didn't figure out about making the train stop automatically , and you were driving the train manually from and to each destination, and then built all your framework for loading and unloading, then it might be off by a bit for each car.
5:09 :O omfg this i the first time I've seen the personal robots be used, and holy shit I need those. I've been manually placing blueprints for so long :( better get that oil started. Excellent video though dude, I feel prepared to get into the train business now.
Thank you, exactly what I am looking for with my noob base, so many other videos are like an hour long going so deep..
Nice Vid. Now I see I used the Pump incorrectly. And to unload/load train 🚂
I got two trainstations, one where I load and one where I unload. But it keeps saying "no valid route to station" but there is a clear route sooo...???
Great to the point guide!
Nice, succinct explanation. Thank you for that!
Good video, just trying to get my head around trains. How many miners were on that patch?
Thanks this helped me out a LOT. I couldnt figure out how to use trains
I have this exactly set up but over a larger distance would that cause any issues?
Oh no. This was compact just for the sake of the video.
@@Moose2006LP My friend and I figured it out, this video was very helpful.
Best tutorial on simple trains. Nice and to the point.
Thank you, i could not understand hpw to use automatic trains, thx for the help
Thank you, this was very helpful:)
I just strarted this crazy game and saw the main train basics video was one hour so it made me not use trains till I found you
Finally got my Train going back and forth thanks to this
Could you help me with a train problem? Cheers
I Tried It And It Will Not Go
Thanks man, you're a big help
Wonderful guide! Thank you!
wait.....Dangerously Funny?!
So when I press play it is gives me a "no path" message on the opposite train locomotive, I have basically tried everything I can think of but I can't get this working...
Make sure to have signals on both sides of the track.
Thank you !!! More vids like this!
dude this is so helpful and the perfect length and level of conciseness. thank u
That's the goal. Thanks for watching!
for some reason it says path is unavailile from this location
I set up a wait condition and the train keeps on moving to the next station when i switch it to auto.
Instruction's very clear
this is exactly what I was looking for thanks. Quite a lot of a tutorials out there started a little TOO complicated when as you deftly perceived, we really do just want the basics! :D
thanks for the help you are the only one who helped :D
Thx bro ı used to make circle so ı was sad
How fluid vagons work?
Exactly what I needed thank you
Can you do a tutorial on the signals and such ?
I always use the simple train setup, it's easier this way, not overcomplicate things
Very helpful. Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!! sooo helpfule and jsut gets to the point!
Very helpful thank you
Great video. One thing I would suggest is to only record during daytime. It is quite hard to see at night time. Thank you for your video.
"no path"
Best tutorial
Thank you for keeping this nice and short , and showing your set up . this gives some good ideas to get started. like others have mentioned thanks for keeping this under 10 min everyone else is posting 30min + videos.
Very useful guide. couldnt figure out how to curve the tracks, thanks!
The coal must flow
mine says NO PATH
Thank you so much!!
Extremely helpful
Very helpful. I still think trains are massively expensive to make.
Thank you for simple and clear video. Great work !
Very helpful!
just what i needed, quick and to the point
THANK YOU
Thanks man.
THIS!!!
Dude thank you so much this was super helpful
Copy & paste?? I never knew you could do that
It's great, right?! They added it in .17 or .18 because a lot of players would instinctively try it anyway.
Nice and simple tutorial, thx!
When I first bought this game, I think to myself that this is just a simple games. Good God, I was wrong, this is not a game it's an addiction!
And thank you for the simple tutorial
1000 hours played and I still feel like I don't know much about it.
why exactly do i need 2 trains per side?
You don't. More engines will just move the train faster.
WOW, what a clear and ez video introduction to train track. Do you have any in a little advance like train signal and other stuff. If dont can you make a tutorials to it. (And maybe to use on more train tracks for more locomotives, so we can easily to understand). Very appreciate.
Not yet! I hope to make one soon I just need to practice with them some more. I'm glad this one helped you!
Thanks guy you really helped
Exactly what I needed. Thank you :)
thx this was a great help
brilliant thinking!!
Cheers Boss!
