Followed the steps, the solutions/methods worked beautifully. Ran a malware cleaner, checked my bios to see whether there was a problem with the number of cores and yup computer is running as good as new. Thank you so much for the video.
friends i have installed windows 10 in my laptop and pc as well. both were working fine with windows 7. but *after upgrading to windows 10 My disk usage raise to 100%* without running any heavy application. Above mentioned superfetch fix works fine for me. to normalize disk usage. but recently i bought a new laptop with preinstalled window 10. and know what it has the same issue of disk usage 99%. _What i mean the problem exist in windows 10 not in our system._
Until few days ago ....my PC was fine ,but now this problem appeared to me too , If it is an update Bug problem it will be fine in future ,but i think there are other issues
guys i did everything he did in the video but didnt help my disk tho. turns out my problem was coming from a trojan under my windows file somehwere on my laptop. i installed panda (not the best antivirus but it gets the job done and still better than windows defender) and found 5 trojan named isas.exe. it was causing my processor to work overtime as well as my cpu so both were running 100% all the time with nothing being used. i deleted that and my processor when back to operating normally and was no longer heating up after 10mins. just saying alot of things can cause this to happen and disabling windows search might not help you. hope i helped
THANK YOU SO MUCH, IT ACTUALLY WORKED FOR ME, My disk was showing 99% used but I followed your video and now it show 0% being used...Pretty sure ReadyBoost helped also, Thanks a million.
I know you posted this a while ago but thank you so much for helping me. I was searching in forums but i didnt undertsand anything but your video made so much sense. You deserve a new sub (:
wauw thnx alo alot dude.. ive been searching the inet over 48 hours to find a solution to my pc stutter after installing windows 10. I just did all the methods u adviced and although the disc still peeks at 99% sometimes i am no longer experiencing troubles/stutters. Thnx alot!
My Task Manager was lagging before I watched your video. It turns out 2/3 of my drives did not have the automatic managing of page file size on. After I turned that on for all my drives and restarted my PC, it fixed it. 8)
This Worked for me so if you have problems with Service Host: Local Service using too much Disk space then this may work i went from 90-100% to no more than 15% with nothing running.
Thanks, Change custom size seems to have done the trick. Will monitor this change though. The hard disk was 90%+ for ages now down to less then 10% after a few seconds
Bruhhh i tbi k i just jinzed my self but when i did the first 3 steps my disk persentahe was at 0 and i was like "ehhh what.... wtf" lol thank you man.:) And i loaded up a game and it sky rocketed to 100% great
Best video, thanks bro, definitely fixed my problem, i think the most important part is setting the virtual memory. Before I do that, I closed some unnecessary services, it still does not work. But after I set the virtual memory, this disk becomes from 99% to 2%,now my pc becomes Ferrari again!
Louie I use a desktop PC , ASUS G11. One thing I have to mention is even though I set the virtually memory, next time I start my PC, the disk becomes100% again. Then I open task manager, after I end the process Windows compatibility tele,it decreases to 2% usage. It works every time
ok cool. does it go to 100 again when you open apps or surf the web?. I was wondering what if i factory restore my computer like its new. will that fix the problem
Louie no it doesn't, i'm not sure where the windows compatibility tele service comes from, but the pc will function well if I stop it, otherwise the disk usage will be 100%
You my friend are a life saver! Followed everything you said here and it WORKED!! I have my pc back running like a champ! Thank you so much!!!! Subbing too!!!
It is absolutely unacceptable that we should have to be doing this. It is clearly a "bug", on Microsoft's end. Why have they not gotten off their lazy arse and patched it yet? This is supposed to be "the best Windows evar!!!" IMO, it's worse than Vista so far - and I NEVER though I'd say anything was worse than that turd of an OS. I miss XP. I want XP back. I had ZERO problems with XP. Screw the new Microsoft. By the way, I didn't even elect to install this POS... did it itself. Wasn't amused. That too, isn't acceptable. If I wanted absolutely no control of my system, I'd have over-paid for a MAC...
tnks its work a lot when my computer start and i open my computer its laging to much and even i did't see drives for a while but now its runing perfect Tnks .......... :)
If disabling Superfetch and Windows Search fixes your issue then you have bigger issues at hand. The most common cause of the hard disk running at 100% is the cheap mechanical hard drive that manufacturers insist on still putting in computers, it is probably on its way out. Many built in hard drive tests that come from lenovo, hp, or dell will show your hard drive as passing when they should not. Do your self a favor and get a SSD. Another cause is a corrupted system image. Using the DISM command to clean up the image or reformatting will fix this issue. And yes, Windows 7 had this issue as well. However you had to go to the performance monitor to see this statistic so many people were unaware that their hard drive was causing their slowness.
Thanks. After trying those things nothing worked bu then around [6:24], you suggested that there might be a virus problem, so I ran CCleaner and it worked.
If Superfetch and Windows Search cant solve this problems, maybe you can do once to stop Windows Update (Manual/Disabled) because windows update can automatically works in background while we're doing something, and try to "Disabled" third party services on your computer
try this for Windows 10 1. Hold the Windows Key, while pressing “r” to bring up the Run dialog box. 2. Type “services.msc“, then press “Enter“. 3. The Services window displays. Find “Superfetch” in the list. 4. Right-click “Superfetch“, then select “Properties“. 5. Select the “Stop” button if you wish to stop the service. In the “Startup type” dropdown menu, choose “Disabled“. 6. Restart your system
guys i have found a solution that has worked for me, i disabled most of microsoft services in msconfig and no more spikes in Disk 0. Try the following : 1. go to run, type "msconfig" without quotes, enter 2. go to services tab, sort by running services status 3. stop most of the services that you may not need (ie : adobeupdateserv, windows update, task sceduler, etc) 4. hit apply, OK, and restart the system.
If the Disk 0 still shows spikes, you might have to try this : 1. go to start menu, search "task scheduler" 2. under "Task Scheduler Library > Windows > WindowsUpdate" folder, modify any tasks that trigger the update and disable them. 3. check other tasks in all folders that might trigger the update. 4. restart please reply back and let me know if this helps.
For those who cant find Superfetch is easy New versions of windows changed the name of Superfetch with SysMain Also the Processes says that nothing uses my disk but when I go to performance it says that my Harddrive (for me its disk J) is always at 100% for no reason (I have tried muultiple fixes but nothing happends, I think my new harddrive just died)
Hi, thanks for the tips. I thought that the reason my laptop all of a sudden could no longer open photos in or pdf files was because my disk was always at 100%. I deactivated the processes you mentioned which lowered rate of which the hard drive needed to work but I still can't open photos or PDF files. Do you have any other tips for me? Cheers F
Windows search and Superfetch was the problem; (the first solution) thank you!!
Followed the steps, the solutions/methods worked beautifully. Ran a malware cleaner, checked my bios to see whether there was a problem with the number of cores and yup computer is running as good as new. Thank you so much for the video.

try this for Windows 10

+Obey Buzro you're welcome :)
guys i have found a solution that has worked for me, i disabled most of microsoft services in msconfig and no more spikes in Disk 0. Try the following :
1. go to run, type "msconfig" without quotes, enter
2. go to services tab, sort by running services status
3. stop most of the services that you may not need (ie : adobeupdateserv, windows update, task sceduler, etc)
4. hit apply, OK, and restart the system.
If the Disk 0 still shows spikes, you might have to try this :
1. go to start menu, search "task scheduler"
2. under "Task Scheduler Library > Windows > WindowsUpdate" folder, modify any tasks that trigger the update and disable them.
3. check other tasks in all folders that might trigger the update.
4. restart
please reply back and let me know if this helps.
It worked! Thank you thank you.
Great video has saved me many times!
For those who cant find Superfetch is easy
New versions of windows changed the name of Superfetch with SysMain
Also the Processes says that nothing uses my disk but when I go to performance it says that my Harddrive (for me its disk J) is always at 100% for no reason
