For 30 of my 42 years on this earth, I've been a metal fan. Everything from hair metal to Metallica to Trivium and lately Nightwish. Maiden still gets me like few others can.
We're Blood Brothers, mate!
Keep being metal, brother 🤘
The GOAT🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Nightwish leads to Epica (song: Sancta Terra ft Floor), which leads to Kamelot (song: The Haunting ft Simone Simons).
Such an amazing song! It's about the Battle of Britain from the perspective of an ace Spitfire pilot. Hearing the Churchill speech live gave me chills then the band just exploded onto the stage with Aces High. Fucking incredible!
Bruce's grandad was a ww2 fighter pilot
I am pretty sure if Bruce was alive in London during ww2 he would have been an Raf fighter ace.
you know what synonymous with Aces High well it's 2 minutes to Midnight
Tailgunner.
2 mins to midnight will knock him flat haha
Anytime I listen to Aces High, as soon as that last note ends I’m expecting to hear the opening riff to 2 Minutes
@@salamanderpete he did 2 minutes last year
@@MoMoMyPup10 did he? I must've missed that then! I better go check that out, thanks :)
Iron Maiden Paschendale - Live Death on the Road
Great if you like Iron Maiden's war themed songs and shows their heavier side.
With all the maiden masterpieces you want pashendale? No whrthchild, no murders in the rue morgue, no the prowler, phantom of the opera, strange world, invaders, children of the damned, where eagles dare, back in the village, caught somewhere in time, the evil that man do and also my nickname..... .."pashendale"??
@@skyscraper7474 Yeah ! Paschendale is great !
You still need to check out The Clansman by Iron Maiden live in Rock in Rio.
This this THIS!!! HAs to be the Rio version as well.
YEEAAH! What a great song! What a great version!
Yeah please!
Saw them in September and they were better than ever, they opened with this.
Opsman Six Oh yeah definitely especially with that fucking incredible Spitfire plane. They did an incredible job with the tour. I hope they bring out the spitfire again whenever they play this song live when it’s not the LOTB tour.
Saw that show twice.... fucking epic
Same here. Saw them September Friday the 13th in Las Vegas then again on the 14th in Los Angeles.
They should open always with this one
DUDE! Everyone needs more Iron Maiden for their lives! Can't wait next summer to see em again!
They're coming to Sweden (which is where I live) this summer but the tickets sold out so quick I never got the chance to buy one
I got a ticket 😀, love the Ullevi shows!
@@christianweideborg4119 Lucky boi🤘😃
Can you imagine, being a pilot in WW2 and listening to this while flying ? :)
Where Eagles Dare is another great Iron Maiden song. The riffs will blow you away!!!
The Rime of the Ancient Mariner ❣️🤟a masterpeice ✨
Iron Maiden - Sign of the Cross ROCK IN RIO 2001
Exactly
It's astonishing to me that you have done seven iron Maiden songs, and still haven't reacted to *_Hallowed be thy name_* (I recommend the 1982 Live version)...just sayin.
I suspect you'll be steppin through that door again! lol
Chur from NZL. *\m/*
My favorite MAIDEN song ever. How can you not have known of this?
Nice AC/DC hat
Watching this from a live performance adds so much to this song, hearing 100,000 Maiden fans singing this song with Bruce takes it to a whole other level.
Hallowed by thy name iron maiden is my favorite
Probably my favorite opening track on any album 🤘🏻
That intro and song!... I've seen them twice live in Costa Rica, amazing concerts and great memories
Hallowed by thy name, The Clairvoyant, The Number of the Beast, Wasted Years...
You just made my night ,as a Lady in my 50s that grew up with Maiden, you made me laugh so much i pissed myself, its an age thing lol
I love that small smile Steve (bassist) and Bruce (singer) share at the end of the video. It's like FUCK YEAH, WE RULE!!! And I agree, they rule!
I think you are thinking Ace of Spades by Motorhead
Maiden have so many great tracks, picking a favourite is nigh on impossible. Tbh i find picking a favourite Maiden album is hard enough.
I pick my fav Iron Maiden every week or so. Over 50 songs easily.
I hear ya!
Facts
When the wild wind blows is another fantastic song!
That was Churchill indeed and the song is about British Spitfire interceptor pilots in WW2 who would risk their lives defending Britain from German air raids. As far as I know the British Spitfire became a symbol of fighting spirit and resistance during the time. Pilots with a certain number of confirmed kills would be called Aces and the song pretty much describes their lives at the time.
Churchill nope. The words are his but the speech is Norman Shelley.

www.powell-pressburger.org/Reviews/Shelley/Shelley01.html
Not just Spitfires, don't forget the Hurricane. The Hurricane accounted for two thirds of the kills but for some reason always gets ignored. Slower than the Spitfire but easier to fly for a novice pilot and a more stable gun platform it was the mainstay of the RAF.
@@andrewlaw I thought the mustang was the fastest ww2 plane
@@sorrysorry1877 the spitfire was slightly faster than the mustang, look it up, both had Rolls Royce engines, anyway he only mentioned about the hurricane being a slower aircraft, both aircraft played a pinnacle role in Battle of Britain and took air superiority from the Germans even though the British planes were way outnumbered, Mustang came shortly after Battle of Britain so wasn’t in it. Sorry about long explanation just needed to be put in context.
@@sorrysorry1877 The Me262 was the fastest plane. If you don't count the rocket plane tge Nazis developed as a high level interceptor. Generally not counted as it was a rocket craft; not a 'plane, per se.
Iron Maiden you get a history lesson with awesome music
One of if not thee best metal band to come from Britian I started listening to them as a teenager I’m 47 now and my son is now a huge fan too !
Truly enjoy watching you brother! Iron Maiden EVERYDAY OF THE WEEK!
Up the IRON'S 🇭🇲🤘🤘🇭🇲
YESSSSSS! I fucking love this song. I think it’s my favorite. I was excited to see that you were doing it, and then extra excited that you showed me suggesting it to you! Hell yeah!
Is anyone gonna talk about how stupidly insane those damn drums were??? That drummer went bezerk and smiled the whole song
This is one of my favorite iron maiden songs !
One of my favorite Iron Maiden songs is "The Evil that Men do", It's awesome! And after that you type in After Forever - The Evil that Men do (Iron Maiden cover) and you get to hear and see Floor Jansen sing it 😀
mr harris on the bass is a legend that galloping bass is insane
Aces high is one of my iron maiden songs an absolute classic
Mad respect man. I love how you like the music for the music not caring what language it's in. Rammsterin, Motorocker, Band-Maid, Babymetal. All power music.
love this band so much! Have done since I was 14 years old and I am now 45 🙂 Bruce is my fav metal vocalist by far! I also love your reactions bless ya ! their music just gives you so much energy and you demonstrate that perfectly! Keep rocking out dude x
Nice reaction 👍🤙
Caught Somewhere in Time by themselves 🤘🤟🤘🤟🤘🤘🤘🤟🤘🤟
Well done sir, glad you know your WWII history. Maiden absolutely rocked in the 80s.
Rock out my friend..... you’re making me feel like I did in 1984 when I first heard this!
I remember the legacy of the beast tour in July last year they had a life size spitfire overhead while they tore it up!
Grakei, Avatar of Chaos I was at that
This one is still my favorite also, can't help it, it's so damn awesome!
Hahaha i had the same reaction back in the day when i was 12 and heard this song for the first time!
The exact song i would want if i was a fighter pilot 🎼🎵🎵🎶🎶 ❤️
YOU ROCK!!!! THEY ROCK!!!! RIGHT NOW EVERYONE ROCKS!!!!!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!
Omg imagine Maiden and Nightwish doing a song together
Lovebites - Rising. You can never have just one bites from those ladies... 💜
Rhyme of the ancient mariner... hallowed be they name... listened since the early 80's
Rime.....
We shall defend our island .whatever the cost may be.... awesome!
I met Nicko McBrain (Maiden's drummer) in a Dennys in San Antonio in 2012. Really.
I met them all early in there career in a rock club . They where just sat at edge of stage having a beer and a chat asking us did we enjoy the show . They where great but little did we know how great they would become 🤘
Great reaction. Here’s another ear worm with awesome early 80s energy: Manowar - Black wind, fire and steel.
Iron Maiden - Die With Your Boots On.
Hard rock, heavy metal forever)
About time you did this one! 🤘💀(And nice Dickinson-esque flying leap at 4:48! 🤪😂)
I´ve seen Maiden live at Wacken...
Awesome Band and they put up an awesome show live...
" Nevah surendah!"
Fly to live👏👏👏
Bruh , Hallowed be thy name (1982 hammersmith live version). The best song heavy metal has to offer.
what a song man, what a song!
Great song. The ww2 pilots diced with death on a daily basis , bringing out their basic instincts to kill and not be killed. Once done, they would count their missing friends and then enjoy a delightful cup of tea !
Shout out to those brave pilots which included men from the Indian Sikhs, Canada, West Indies and Australia!
As Stone Cold Steve Austin would say Oh Hell Yeah. One of my favorite Maiden songs
Follow this with back in the village
The G. O. A. T.. 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Iron Maiden is its own musical experience....love em!!
This guy cracks me up! 😂😂😂😂😂
That last "hiiiiiigggghhh" is testicle exploding greatness!
Powerslave was the first LP I bought with my own hard earned money. Absolutely love this song Have not looked back since....... now it's time for some more Band Maid!!
Next up, caught somewhere in time, wasted years, rime of the ancient mariner, different world, dance of death or sign of the cross, all of them great songs.
@@ICBMSteve True, forgot about that
One of Maiden's absolute best and one of my all time favorites.
You should start dong live songs from their "Live After Death" 1985 concert. I'm not sure if they get blocked though.
No, he shouldn't. He should listen to the studio songs first. Bruce sounds like shit on Live After Death.
I was at one of those shows in Long Beach CA when they taped it for the album
I seen this show its a blast in person
DUDE! YOUR REACTIONS MAKE ME SO HAPPY! Thanks :)
Had tons of fun and laughs seeings you react to some Maiden reactions!🤘 Aaaaahhh! Where have u been 😂
FYI, the song was inspired by the Battle of Britain... The "Aces High" in question are fighter pilots, Spitfires against German bombers.
Caught Maiden in L.A. in 2019, and bet your ass the only part of the entire show I filmed with my camera phone was Churchill/“Aces High”.
the bass line of iron maiden is insane. normally i couldn’t hear clear bassline on my earphone. but this is lit
Fear of the dark - Live at Rock in Rio
Mary's Blood - Death Queens March live will blow your mind
Iron maiden tunes you are yet to listen to that are a must:
Powerslave
Killers
Remember tomorrow
Prowler
Maiden in the 80s were fantastic, still Great band.
Churchill, what a great speech.
This dude wild😂
Probably my fave Maiden.
Love that fret-work!
...but still "Somewhere in time" is my favourite album. "Caught somewhere in time"... not as strong opener as "Aces high", but very good. "Wasted years", "stranger...", "Alexander..."...
This song is basically a tribute to the RAF for their winning the Battle of Britain outnumbered and outgunned they still held the Luftwaffe at bay. ‘Never before in the field of human conflict has so much been owed by so many to do few’
Phantom of the Opera from Live After Death 1985 album.
Their first real classic "epic".
Also the Air raid Siren sound is produced by the guitar
So much respect for Bruce and the whole band for that matter still touring and all hell these guys are amazing!! Gonna recommend something of maidens a little newer but blood brothers or when the wild wind blows so you can get a good range of songs form early to the (not as popular middle years (Bruce left the band but later returned) all maiden is good maiden!! Up the irons!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Everyone needs more Maiden in their lives. UP THE IRONS
Up The Irons!
That is Mr. Winston Churchill -- and his speech is, appropriately, called, "Our Solemn Hour."
It is, I believe, why Britain did not consider surrendering during the Battle of Britain in 1941.
Minor point but it was 1940
And it was Norman Shelley's voice if it is true what they say
www.powell-pressburger.org/Reviews/Shelley/Shelley01.html
Churchill was a drunkard and a womaniser but also one hell of an inspiration and orator in times of war.
@@andrewlaw Best of both worlds
Keep em coming bruv 👍👌
I just love mr rock n roll I love acdc my fav band too
Up the Irons !
Quite the Adrenaline rush.
Even after listening to this from it first released still get that gotta thrash around.
React to:
Can I Play With Madness
El Dorado
Two Minutes To Midnight
Die With Your Boots On
BOW DOWN...BOW DOWN TO THE METAL GODS!!!!!!
If you like Maiden fighter pilot songs also check out Where Eagles Dare.
The "life after death" album is ALL epic. Not a bad song in the whole album, all live too. Greatest band of all time with Bruce dickinson absolutely phenomenal voice!!
Blood Brothers - form the Brave New World album, epic
Thus is one of my absolute favorites! Maiden is my favorite band ever and Steve Harris inspired me to play bass.
Interesting fact: That is not Churchill..that is his own personal impersonator..for that particular radio broadcast.
Dude, Iron Maiden has so many classics! I suggest a couple of good ones you haven't listened yet:
2 Minutes To Midnight
Be Quick Or Be Dead
Run To The Hills
The Evil That Men Do
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Iron Maiden (Like the band name)
The clansman live in Rio, flight of Icarus, o dude, so may awesome tunes
