@2:47 did you glue the new fitting to the existing pipe that you reused? Later in the video you stated you pounded it in there, I'm pretty sure its supposed to be primed and glued but I didn't see it.

Great question! I did not end up gluing it! Definitely an oversight in my part to not mention that in the video as that is best practice but when test fitting it there was no way I could get it back off 😆
Also not that it matters but that part is submerged anyways so as long as it's not pumping water through the lack of seal you should be all set either way!

@@DigitalDavidI have the same pump as you. The pump sounds like mine. I replaced the old second one. That old semiconductor one is old superior pump with a different float. And was so freaking dirty and rusty. Smells like rotten stuff. Water was brown and flooded. Replaced it with a new Flotec. The first old one was old Flotec. I replaced it too. With a new superior pump as same you had. My house is like 80s or 70s and also my basement is old. Used to flood. Not anymore.

Buddy, you speak too fast , esp for DIY. Novices like me. What was that pin hole - did you say VPull? That you spoke about?
So what’s the purpose of that hole in the pipe?
Answer:? Perhaps To ensure that the motor doesn’t burn out but has some level of water always standing around the sump pump motor?

Thanks for the feedback! You have the option in RUclipss video player to slow the speed of the video down so hopefully you won't ever have that issue again on any video you watch :)
Yes from my DIY understanding that is to prevent an air lock which would render the pump useless!
Good luck on your install you will do great!
