    @lilbam19 Fargas struggled last season too running behind the OL. The Raiders do not have a good OL because they keep on switching out players. Bush has looked good because of his playing style. If McFadden can stay healthy he is a very effective player. He did average 4.4 YPC his rookie season, but struggled last season from injuries.

    That run against Southern Miss was insane, the defenders couldn't catch him even at an angle. You've got to be bad fast to outrun a defender who's further downfield and coming at the proper angle. I wish he could have stuck around with the Titans playing at a high level for a little while longer. But I'm happy for him and his season in Arizona.

      ***** you can't teach speed and of course the line helped if it was bad then no running back would run for 1000 let alone 2000. Only Barry could do that and thats why he is a HOF but when they had occasional bad blocks CJ would just run around the dudes because nobody could catch him. I hope he signs with a good team this year since the Jets just declined his option

      +robert johnson Maybe it took a competent offensive line for him to do so, but I've enjoyed watching him run this season. He's definitely a more patient runner.

    • @AreolaGrande94
      @AreolaGrande94 8 лет назад +1

      +Shakester71 Running backs have the shortest lifespan of any position in any major professional sport. (I believe 3-4 years is the current average). They just get beat up too much by much larger, stronger defenders. I think he'd be an exceptional wide receiver or slot receiver with that speed... but he was never known for having great hands. If he worked on that he might have lit up the field for longer. The pounding catches up with most backs.
      All that said, his 2k season was a thing of beauty.

  • @handsomethanos9072
    @handsomethanos9072 9 лет назад +2

    He WAS great b4. Top 2 running back. I thought at one point he was the best. He didn't have enough passion to reach his full potential. He needs an offensive line cuz he's a guy who relies too much on pure speed as a south north runner. It'd be great if he signed with the cowboys or patriots with great offensive lines so we can see a glimpse of what he used to be.

    • @YardratZ
      @YardratZ 9 лет назад

      I can't say he lacked the passion. Some players just never learn how to read blocks and not use their top speed all of the time. No matter how much they study or how passionate they are. And he was probably one of those guys. And yeah. He just can't really read blocks. Never could. But was fast as lightning

    • @handsomethanos9072
      @handsomethanos9072 9 лет назад

      joshblue32 I think he didn't have enough passion. He's one of those guys when there's all time great potential but just never got there. He just fell off the face of the earth after the 2000 yard season. That's when he just stopped caring. He's still productive and can be a solid starting back but he's not elite anymore. I think of him as a Vince carter. Just didn't want it bad enough.

    • @YardratZ
      @YardratZ 9 лет назад

      Sirion Heat i see what your saying..but i cant say he didnt have enough passion..they lost two offensive linemen that year after the 2000 yard season...and never could read blocks..some people cant just learn to read blocks, no matter how hard they try..now jamarcuss russell, coming in to trainign camp 40 pounds over weight is someone who didnt care lol

    • @handsomethanos9072
      @handsomethanos9072 9 лет назад +1

      joshblue32 JaMarcus russell is a special case of no passion. He hangs out at the strip club eating burgers all day.
      Chris Johnson is comparable to Vince Carter. They had all time great talent yet no passion. Had to rely on talent for the majority of their careers. Chris johnson is serviceable right now. If he was on the cowboys with that offensive line though, here comes back cj2k. Demarco has elite talent but couldn't stay healthy. I think if Demarco stayed healthy he'd have over 2000 yards.

    • @YardratZ
      @YardratZ 9 лет назад

      Sirion Heat but what i mean is, how can you say chris johnson had no passion??? i think if he didnt have passion, he never would have went from a 2 star recruit to a 2000 yard rusher..know what i mean? i think it was more of him not being able to read blocks, getting smashed behind tenessees horrible offensive line for 7 years, and taking a beating from being so small...and yeah .. i think cj2k bad years were based more on his horrible offensive line an the fact that defenders could place more players in the box because they havent had a good wide receiver since the early 2000s so defenders had one job..STOP CHRIS JOHNSON.

  • @icecru2
    @icecru2 11 лет назад

    Cj is arrogant only people outside of the Titans fan base says that, he is actually a very shy guy. thats why he mumbles in interviews, and has a nervous twitch which isn't tourettes. also if you ever pay attention cj has said for YEARS that he'd rather get to the playoffs than 2000 yards again/ And Chris johnson would actually beat Bolt in the 40 or the 60. Bolt would pull away after 60 due to his stride length.
    So when you try to rag on someone don't make up lies about him or his character

  • @RossfromCanada
    @RossfromCanada 11 лет назад

    I don't understand why someone comes on a CJ video to talk shit about his shit-talking and compare him to AP. There is only one AP so any comparison to him is dead before it even happens.
    CJ is a hard-worker and has produced good numbers every year he has been in the league despite being the ONLY star on a very mediocre offense. You can call him arrogant and any name you want to, but at the end of the day it is the fans (esp. you) who are the arrogant shit-talkers. Total hypocrites.

  • @theyoozernaim
    @theyoozernaim 11 лет назад

    Quit all this childish 'who's better" garbage! AP and CJ are both great RB's. They should both have bug seasons this coming year imo. The Titans haven turned a weakness (O-Line) into a strength. CJ is more reliant on blocking than a powerful runner like AP. The old Titans line was absolutely dreadful at both guard positions and center for 2-3 years. Not anymore. CJ should see lanes he can accelerate through like he used to. He's still ridiculously fast.

  • @miamiheatmattwade
    @miamiheatmattwade 11 лет назад

    Can AP Run a 4.24? No. Speed is the best trait a RB can have AP has a better OL than CJ does. the reason that AP broke the single game rushing record is that his OL was not broken down and he got a ton of carries. CJ doesn't get as much carries. The point being is that Speed makes big plays happen I'm not calling AP slow but he will get knocked out of bounds from the SS a lot on the other hand CJ can out run the safeties the only issue he has is the guards being able to block the OLBs

  • @sand-attack
    @sand-attack 11 лет назад

    I agree, that's what set Tomlinson apart from any recent runningbacks other than Peterson. Every single year he produced. It's nice to see another one of his caliber in AD.
    Not to take anything away from CJ's 2000 yard season though. He had 2,500 yards from scrimmage which is the most productive season from a skill player of all time. That was truly a thing of beauty and I wish more people realized how awesome it was. Not a single MVP vote was BS, sadly the same could happen this year with AD.

  • @dyrryc17
    @dyrryc17 12 лет назад

    Agree that the isnt as good a peterson, but hes been a 1000 yard back every season hes been in the NFL and his average has been above 4 yards every season hes been in the nfl also the offensive coordinator isnt running him enough hes been ran 25 fewer times than peterson and if he were run the same amount of times with as good of a run blocking O line as peterson, he stats would be just as good

  • @queefraptor
    @queefraptor 12 лет назад

    No doubt a few people will disagree with this, but i find Chris Johnson to be the most overrated running back in the league. Granted, his 2,000 yard season was phenomenal. But in reality, running backs come and go in the nfl, they don't last that long. So the true mark of a great running back is someone who's gonna continually be in the top five year after year - guys like Adrian Peterson and Frank Gore. Consistency.

  • @majhdogg19
    @majhdogg19 12 лет назад

    I agree with u a 100%. They should do the top 25 fastest players. Go on a track surface use 5 lanes per race. Have 5 groups of 5. The fastest player in each group move on to the final five and that race determines the winner. Distance should be 50 yards however many meters that is on a track and air it live in primetime on ESPN or NBC FOX, CBS, or whatever major network the NFL is associated with. But ur right on many that would get more viewers than the NBA finals and World Series if it happens

  • @Evazz22
    @Evazz22 12 лет назад

    @GRIDIRONKING115 He wasn't given a big contract because he had ONE great year. He was given a big contract because he had ONE phenomenal year, and TWO very good years, one of which while splitting carries with another back. Did he vastly underplay his contract the past season? Absolutely. But as of right now, the Titans have gotten much more value out of him than what they have payed him. I was really disappointed this last season, but I still think he can bounce back next season.

    First of all Chris Johnson was way underpaid for what he did in his record breaking season. He was outstanding. he WAS outstanding. Then he pouted about his contract and sat out the preseason until the Titans finally paid him a shit ton of money. Then what did he do? He under-performed all season....
    Secondly, why do you keep referencing steven jackson. This is about chris johnson not steven jackson... Talking about how steven jackson threw a temper tantrum as well doesn't help your argument

    @icecru2 There is a big difference between 4.0 and 4.4 and no I would say steven jackson was a pretty decent running back. He would be pretty darn good if he had a decent o-line. What you don't understand is that I am not saying that chris johnson is a bad running back. I just don't see why everybody whats to lick his balls and stuff. He was OKAY last year. After the little temper tantrum he threw, I would expect better performance.

    @BLong114 Exactly my point if Peterson wouldn't have goten injured he would of had 1,000 yards and look at there teams, Titans are able to set-up the run a lot easier then the vikings can, because vikings have one decent reciever and a declining o-line. CJs best season was when only he got the ball and they went what like 9-7? Petersons best season was when they played as a WHOLE team and they went 13-3.

    @VikeFan284296 well say that because what you are appearing to say is that adrian peterson is the greatest and as a Vikes fan i can understand where that comes from but i believe the hold out and the short camp really put him behind the gun but at the end of the year he's gonna have a 1,000 yard season i believe and Adrian needs to get that ankle healthy i knw personally how that feels

    @yeabuddy333 Lol no, I mean you can't look at stats alone and say "Peterson is having a down year" or "Christian Ponder is only completing 50% of his passes, he sucks." I overexaggerated saying "stats don't mean shit", but the eye-test is more important than stats alone cuz 10 other guys affect an individual's stats. Basically what I'm saying is if you watched every Vikings game this year, you wouldn't say he's having a down year at all.

    Because he played in C-USA and not a power conference. He would have still done well in the SEC, Big 10, Pac 10, Big XII, etc., but obviously not quite as good. He was a 3rd or 4th rounder until he ran his 4.24 at the combine. Plus the scouts didn't like his Wunderlic which was a 10 & questioned his durability.
    I love CJs running style. North & South with little dancing and doesn't get too fancy. Reggie Bush should take notes. Just blaze by people & follow your blocks.

    @Grenader080 Actually CJ was still faster than Usain with both electronically timed. It's because football players are all about the quick "first step," so a small number of them actually have better acceleration than some champion sprinters. Usain is faster at top speed, no doubt, but even among sprinters he's slow out of the blocks. That's why Tyson Gay was able to beat him once. He took advantage of Usain's slow first step to get out ahead and then held on.

  • @Juggernaut76
    @Juggernaut76 13 лет назад

    Whats the reason for saying "if he was hand timed?" Chris Johnson's 4.24 NFL combine was electronically timed and thats what matters. Hypothetical times based on shaving or adding time because of hand timing dont mean anything.
    'Well, Football players have really low tackling skill....'
    Not that easy tackling someone moving that fast . Watching videos is one thing, but dealing with that speed on the field is a lot different. You make one mistake and get wind burn as they run by.

    @phastman1994 yes thats at all the fastest moments out of 100m there is no cutting time in a 40 yard dash it IS the time and everyone knows usain is the fastest man so if u take his fastest moments no DUR his time is lower but everyone is saying Chris has the acceleration in which usain couldn't dream about take the first 40 m out of usains berlin sprint and drop off a tenth its a 4.6 somethin put that in yards a 4.4maybe considering he sped up considerably in the last few meters

  • @Juggernaut76
    @Juggernaut76 14 лет назад

    @Grenader080
    What? CJ's 4.24 was electronically timed at the NFL combine and Usain Bolt would not run a 3.9 40 no matter who timed him. The 40 yard dash is a measure of acceleration and burst which does not favor Usain Bolt who does better at longer distance where his long gait allows him to maintain a high top speed.
    There may be a few college/NFL guys that might beat Bolt in a 40, but they would lose in any Olympic events.

    @jrock8693 except for the fact chris johnson doesn't fumble almost every game, i mean c'mon 9 times in the 2008 season and 7 times in the 2009 season compared to chris johnson who has only fumbled 7 times in his career... not to mention Peterson finished the year FIFTH in rushing and lost Fed-Ex Ground player of the year to Chris Johnson who had over 2,000 yards rushing on the 2009 season... AP is definitely one of the best RBs in the NFL but he isn't better then chris johnson...

    @MrPdiddy28 Nah, he broke his leg his senior year of high school, so that might've slowed him down in the long run. But the day of the combine, he was feeling terrible, and the fact that he didn't lean aswell (which intertwines with him not feeling good), slowed his 40 down a large amount. If he ran a 40 yard dash today, I guarantee he would get a good 4.15. Also, he's only lost one race in his life, to Walter Dix in high school.

    @ChrisJohnson2K I have the best logic. I said Bolt would lose in the 40, that's obvious. But Bolt runs the 100 meter almost a full second faster then Johnson's career best time. And that 22 MPH is measured during a full out sprint by Johnson. 40 yards is only around 1/3 of 100 meters. Johnson wouldn't be able to keep up a 22 MPH pace the entire way. His body isn't trained to run that far at top speed.

  • @ChrisJohnson2K
    @ChrisJohnson2K 14 лет назад

    @Hondaftw1 You have no logic behind your reasoning. I understand where you're coming from, I mean, Usain Bolt is just the fastest man in the world, but he runs at a an astoundng 29 M/PH. Chris Johnson, on the otherhand, runs 22 M/PH in full pads. That's 81% of Usain Bolts record breaking 100M. Now if you take his pads off, that'll add about 9% more. Therefore he's running approximatly 90% of Usain's sprint. That's divided to 26 M/PH, turned into meters, he's only a foot away in the 100.

    @lulustu, Skip didn't find him. The coach before Skip, John Thompson, recuited CJ2K out of Orlando. CJ2K was a great one in million player. But, he did need a lot of work to make him what he is today. The first 3 years CJ2K didn't put up good numbers, he was an outside runner and couldn't run up the middle. His senoir year was his brake out year. Truth be told he wasn't even our best RB on the team or in ECU history, a great RB but, not the best, top 5 for sure.

    @Hondaftw1 You really have to be out your mind to think that CJ could compete at the Olympic level in track. He ran 10.38 in high school? He's gotten slower since and a time like that would not even qualify for the U.S Championships. CJ has 4.24 speed NOW, if he were to maintain that speed throughout the whole 100 meters (unrealistic) he would have a time in the 10.6-10.8 range. He'd get beat by the females running that.

    @papapapenis if osu, as well as every other top team, would have done their research on this kid in high school they very well could have landed him. but due to the fact that he broke his leg his sr. year, no one but ECU, E.Kentucky, and UConn were interested. tisk tisk. just goes to show how a 2-star caliber recruit coming outta high school can sometimes surprise the hell outta ppl

    @hondaftw! im with jjasmont on this one. Yea he would be fast as mess but in the nfl bolt doesnt stand much of a chance. football is more then just pure straight speed its lateral speed. left and right. in and out of your cuts. Bolt couldnt make it through the line of scrimmage. could he take a hit probably but high school players can take a hit. But being good in the nfl is different.

    @mcriswel1 Insinuating he has cheated his way through school is pretty low. Almost as low as calling him a "dumbass" when you don't even know the guy. You do realize he has Turrets Syndrome right? Which may account for some of his speech mannerisms. I think he is amazing because despite this, he is one of the most electric players in the NFL. Even if he is a "dumbass" and has public speaking problems -- they don't pay him to talk. What they pay him to do he does very, very well.

    @kleamat For all the holes the Bills have, the one thing they did well in last season was run block. Fred Jackson a relatively unknown RB ran for over 1,000 yards behind that line. A bad team can work out well for some players, and I think Spiller is one of them. The more touches he gets, the better he gets. And I do believe Bush won a Superbowl so he definitely didn't fail. Either way it was Brees who carried New Orleans and not Bush.

    @untouchablemvj1982 I didn't say shit about what round they were goin out in..I said who was better and CJ is CLEARLY better than RunDMC.. he gets 1800yrds that season and 15 tubs due to having a pretty nice line and going against hurt defenses and when they did play good teams who defense was coming to play what he do? Notta Damn thing..I like DMC but I preferred CJ over him because he didn't have a great line and supporting cast around him, that's what i account for..

    If CJ went from 2000 yards, to 1500, a 25% decrease in production, couldn't it be argued he had a down year? ya, i think so.

    boy boy boy...he might be small but MAN HE has power in those legs...His speed comes from excellent genetics and work ethic.. Have anyone ever watched how he DRIVES piles when he lowers his shoulders...If you watch him how many times does he gets put on his pockets when he's tackled head up....man..it's funny Mike Mayock said that Darren McFadden was better than him coming out the 08 draft, he clearly lost his damn mind

    Hey, maybe you're right. Maybe Johnson is slower now... but that's speculation. What we DO KNOW is that Chris Johnson has been the fastest in the NFL, that is the NFL. And Ford has done nothing to disprove that Johnson isn't still the fastest.
    The combine was his first chance... and he failed. So now either Ford has to race him to let people visually say otherwise or he has to be mindblowing in the NFL to a point where it's noticeable. Till then...you really have no argument
