His lyrical use of double entendres is amazing, "I'm ready I'm heavy, I’m Mercury, I am Freddy,..." Mercury being a HEAVY metal, Freddy Mercury....😵💫 C'MON! Even the title is a double entendre - "Illest of our Time". He's firing warning shots in this one and making sure everyone takes notice. Nice to see him showing some attitude and confidence, being a little braggadocious. I Love it.
He did a live stream right after the video dropped (on Twitch), and to see his genuine, emotional reaction to how many reaction channels had already posted videos within an hour of the songs release, was truly heartwarming. He shows his soul. This young man deserves every bit of love , support, and success he's finally getting. I couldn't be happier for him, especially for someone so talented, so driven, and without question, someone who has been forged through fire. Love this kid! Fan for life.

What I like about Ren he doesn't need a chorus to produce a great song the beat and change of flows and styles is so wow this guy can switch up with ease
Sony you are such idiots for dropping Ren now you can just sit back and watch Ren become one of the best artists around and you let him go how sick you must be feeling right now has he's blowing up the internet
I've suffered with depression , Muscle Fatigue Syndrome and other health conditions since I was 19yrs old and I'm now 54years old so I can really relate to the song has it hits close to home and he's right in some senses that depression can be a blessing in disguise because if you look back through history most of the great artists and academic minds suffered with depression so inadvertently depression could open another part of your mind that makes you more creative if that makes sense
I know how you feel, but if record labels didn't drop artists, they'd go under. Would have been great if he got diagnosed properly right away, took antibiotics for 2 weeks and could stay with Sony, but he is a better person and artist for what he's been through as tough as it was for him. Only he knows how many times he was tempted to end it. 😢 Continual suffering is tough, especially if you are on drugs for something you don't have. Poor, poor guy, glad he's doing better, he deserves it.
@@shaundisch2020 Hi Shaun I agree with you I understand record labels needs to make money but sometimes they get it wrong most artists that are dropped disappear it's only a rare few that go on to be an independent artist because it become more difficult to get your music out there and it's hard thing to do beside Ren I can only think of few off hand like Tom MacDonald, Knox Hill, Tyson James, Struggle Jenning, Dax, Adam Calhoun, Brandon Hart, Nova Rockefeller there will be others that you probably know that are not on my list if there is someone you know I'm always open to listening different artists 😁
Your right also about the struggles Ren has had but he still puts himself out there that's shows he's determined regardless of the health issues he has said he's thought about ending it which I can relate to has I've been in pain everyday for more than 30years it's relentless and there's no escape I take 50+ tablets per day just to function they don't take pain away nothing does I've tried everything to the point Doctors have said there's nothing they can do so I have to live the rest of my life being in pain 🙁 I wouldn't wish my condition on anyone

@Darren Fryer Darren, sorry about your pain. Magnesium is used in 80% of all that our bodies do. Stress depletes your magnesium, the more you lose the more depleted you get. Maybe grab some quality Cal/mag. 75% of Americans are low in it. I always run out and my heart starts palpitating and my muscles get sore and tight. "The Magnesium Miracle" is a good reference. Doctors suck. Mine told me my palpitations were because of my head. Later a naturopath could tell I had no Magnesium and it fixed me up in 2 weeks. Good luck.
@@shaundisch2020 They are almost always low in vitamin D as well. Especially through the winter since we can't get any sun.

I really liked your song "The Calling". It was intense in some areas and soothing in others. I usually never listen to the reactors stuff because I'm here for Ren. But it just started playing and I stopped what I was doing and listened. Then I realized it was actually a music video. Was that beautiful dog an Australian Shepherd or a long haired border collie?

I am with you when you talk about the lyrics and the visuals. But "The music is dope"?? It is the same boring shit like billions of other rap songs. Many people are offended by Rap & Hip Hop because of the lyrics, not me, I just hate it to hear again and again similiar sounds. Music can be good, average or bad, it's all OK to me, but I hate it when music is boring. You must have very very low expectations in music😜 BTW: I subscribed a long time ago, so don't take this too serious.....(but damn!! It is simple and boring!!)

You miss the point though. This isn't like a normal record label produced song where a rapper or other singer is just given a beat or music track by their label (and even the lyrics in many cases), spends 10 minutes laying some vocals and then just buggers off. This guy has written the lyrics and music, created his own beat, produced and mixed the track, jointly produced the video and acted it out, even found the venue for the music video. It's the whole process of being a creative artist rather than just a singer (even then often supported by autotune and other technology).
You might find the music boring, fine, that's your taste, just like I'd probably find your taste in music boring or lacking in creativity. Difference is, I probably wouldn't expend the time in going to a track I didn't like and saying so - why add to the negativity in the world?
And if you listened to an actual artist (like Knox Hill) breaking down this track, you'd actually realise that the track is far from simple, and has many layers. But I'm not going to preach to the unconverted.
Weird, i'm not that into hip hop but didn't expect 90's Streets of Rage kinda beats were so prolific nowadays. And I expect Jacqueline is quite into this cause it has those 90's electro vibes to it. But what do I know
@@davidjames3080 Yeah, REN got my respect, no doubt about that. As I wrote, I am really impressed about the lyrics and the video is dope, too. Maybe I am too old for that shit, The first Rap song I listened to was "The revolution will not be televised" by Gil Scott-Heron in 1971 (well nobody knew that this was Rap at that time). Later I listened to "The Breaks" by Kurtis Blow and all the stuff from Grandmaster Flash, Fatback Band, Sugarhill Gang, Afrika Bambaata, Run-DMC, LL Cool J or the Beastie Boys. When Gangsta-Rap took over I was out. What started as music from the poor and disadvantaged of society turned to idiotic Rhymes about drugs, guns and "bitches" to get the money of the dumb (mostly) white middle classes youth. The music was kept as simple as possible and because the lack of creativity the started more and more sampling. I will never forget that my 12 yo son was thrilled by "Gangstas Paradise" and frustrated when I told him the original was "Past Time Paradise" and by Stevie Wonder. New stuff I am listening to nowadays hasn't much to do with Hip Hop or Rap. Bands like Tokyo Groove Jyoshi, Polyphia, Lovebites or The Warning (to name a few) fulfill my longing for creativity and excellent songwriting.
