I wear these Arcade belts regularly. When I travel, I only bring these belts. I've never had to remove the belt when going through US TSA or in other countries when traveling internationally. 10/10 must recommend
So glad to hear it! Seems like a handful of people around here have had some bad luck but I’ve had zero issues with mine from all of my flights the past couple of years.
thank you for the sun hoodie suggestion. they actually had them in Tall sizes which is always my issue in finding shirts that fit, and with thumb holes, and on sale in a decent color!
I can attest that after 100's of flights I have never removed my Arcade belts in any country. Before I had TSA pre-check I would occasionally get asked about my belt and I would just reply nicely that it is 100% plastic and won't show up on the scan. After speaking candidly with TSA agents during my travels, they generally just want to avoid having to slow up the line to search someone with a big metal belt buckle. If you can give them the knowing traveler nod they will usually not push back.
Glad to hear another good experience through tsa with them outside of my own! Maybe it’s the traveler nod like you mentioned, I haven’t had any issues in 20+ flights so far
I probably taken 15 to 20 flights with my belt and never had to remove it either. I've been asked to remove it, but as soon as I say that it's plastic they say never mind.
I can attest that the generic cheap belt I bought from Target has never been removed in the 18 or so flights I've taken in the last few years. Its not plastic but it doesn't make the machine's alarms go off. But to be fair, I've also had previous belts from Target and I have had to remove some of those.
I love watching your videos.....curious, which watch you are wearing in this one? I'm assuming a Casio ;). But I love the orange color and curious which model?
Definitely a Casio! I don’t think there’s stock anymore but it was a gshock x nasa collab from a few years ago. One of my favorites for sure, the orange is a really fun pop of color.
I have the Matador travel bottle and really liked it but I found that in long travels the liquids inside tend to dry out and leave a residue inside it. Recommend it but be mindful that it shouldn’t be used to store liquids for when you return from your trip.
Same issue here, put some suncreen in it and it turned into yellow grease ruining the bottle. Terrible design, no idea what they were thinking allowing the contents to dry out. Great for the soap bar case though.
I don't understand why everyone loves the Matador bar soap pack so much. I travelled with it for 5 months using Dr Bronner's soap bar and it was always slimy and wet inside. The soap only dries if you leave the pack open for an hour after showering, which isn't ideal when checking out of hostels first thing in the morning after a shower. I saw a video on RUclips comparing it to a Ziploc bag. It doesn't do much better.
Not sure why you’ve had so much trouble with it, mine has been pretty consistently dry in my experience. Hopefully you find something that’s a better fit soon!
Sorry for the rant. I just had to get that off my chest lol But I ended up making holes in the bottom to help drain left over water. I think it's a bit better now
Have you had any issues with the travel pillow? Do you feel the plastic little clip that is on the bottom side of the pillow when you sleep on it? Great vid as always!
No issues at all for me! The amount of foam definitely covers the plastic clasp, I’ve never felt it. I’ve had about 20-25 nights using it while backpacking and it’s been great. Not as nice as a big home pillow but a huge upgrade from inflatable.
I might have mentioned it but for facial hair care (I kind have a similar beard like yours) I carry the Wahl micro groomsman. It details and cleans any rogue hair quickly. And if I want to remove it nothing beats a mach3
I used a Wahl for about a decade and really loved it! It finally died on me last year and ended up replacing it with one from Norelco. So far it’s been great but I’ll keep this in mind!
I try to cover some of them during my seasonal EDC updates, but a dedicated video could be fun sometime down the road! Always happy to send over a link in the comments too if you see one you want to check out.
I went on a pretty long (unsponsored) rant about my coffee details before mentioning PERC. It wasn’t required or paid or anything, I just really love talking about coffee stuff when I get the chance.
I had no idea the poncho existed! Really neat concept as a robe replacement but I’d imagine it would get a bit annoying to use as a traditional towel. Haven’t tried it though so I could be way off, I’ll have to keep it in mind!
i have that adult acne, too: the standard benzoyl peroxide soaps works pretty good for me, but i'm using the 4% and might go down a bit. the Matador travel bottle is super cool, and i've never seen it before, so this is a cool thing!
I’m pretty sure I have a type of rosacea but haven’t had the desire to spend the cash at a derm to find out. Been keeping it under control pretty well the past few months luckily, I’ll be sure to keep that soap in mind!
Hello From a long time viewer, For me, Arcade belts are the worse to go through TSA. The reason is the way TSA reads my gender at security points. I am a women who wears baggy or men’s clothes. With that, I had purchased the belt as to help avoid having to always get pat down when going through airport security. Unfortunately this was made worse on the four separate occasions that I have used to the belt. Each time it has caused to be stopped & pat me down. With the last trip we’re the confiscated my belt as they stated it is not allowed in the airport (JFK airport). Josh is right that your mileage will very with the arcade belt, but for me it was more trouble that it was worth it.
Sure! It’s the last NASA x G-SHOCK collab. These sell out pretty fast so it’s out of stock unfortunately, but you might be able to still find one around somewhere. Here’s the Casio page for it: tinyurl.com/yc64atks
Thanks! Good eye as well, it’s the most recent nasa collab that they did. Found one for retail late last year and scooped it up immediately. One of my favorites!
Do the USB-C batteries support USB-C to USB-C cables? I'm currently conducting a personal holly war against all non USB-C USB ports (USB-A, MicroUSB). It's definitely a war of attrition but I believe the tides are turning in my favor.
Haha I commend your efforts and totally get it! They’ll charge with a c-c cable but it’d have to be one at a time so that may be more trouble than it’s worth depending on your situation.
@@joshfenn I should have opened with how much I enjoy your videos, so I apologize for letting my alarmist out. I just hate to see others have to go through this.
Happy to! Learned about them a while back from James Hoffman’s channel and they ended up sponsoring a video last year. They essentially make mineral blend packets that you add to water to make ideal ‘coffee water’ for brewing. Makes a huge difference in overall taste and water is often overlooked for coffee even though it’s a main ingredient. Still have a link with an active discount code if you’re interested: tinyurl.com/3y82em83

@@joshfenn the link for arcade belt is missing. May I know what is the type you are using?
Thermarest pillow has a permanent spot in my one bag travel. Well worth it for good sleep.
Absolutely! I don’t think I can ever go back to anything else for my outdoor backpacking, we’ll worth the weight and bulk for way better sleep.
That Bluetooth receivers is dope. Thank you!

I have that same Sun Hoodie from REI. Used it hiking in Zion. Worked well.

Having gone through the whole melanoma removal nightmare I can tell you that you're more likely to get it in areas not exposed to the sun.
No doubt that preventing sun exposure isn’t a catch all, but the risk seems unnecessary to me
