- When Steve Jones describes a ride as "One of the best things I've done on two wheels", you know it's been a good one! Such a ride takes a special location, and also a special bike - in this case, the mighty Sgùrr Bàn slab, and the Giant Stance E+. Could Steve and his friend Ady conquer the epic ride to the peak of the slab and back, or would the inhospitable terrain, wet conditions, and untested route thwart them?

Interesting time we live in. This quality of a production, free to be viewed by anyone and everyone, yet by scale of availability only a tiny audience will ever see this mini masterpiece. Well shot, well written, well edited. The solace being it will live forever in this digital landscape.
I could easily watch hours of this.
Kudos
Nail on head. This video (and most of Steve's adventures) is epic.
This has to be one of the best videos embn has ever done the view's music everything about this video makes me want to watch it again plus it shows what E Mountain bikes can do wether it's a cheap or expensive emtb fair play guys
for sure, watching it I was like, how did they get time to take all that amazing B-roll. Especially in that local, in those weather conditions. Cinematic magicians.
Great video: music, aerial views, commentary as you’re riding… I’m a little jealous. Thanks for the adventure.
Simply epic well done lads .
Thank you for reminding me why I'm trying to get an etrike ( I need a modified trike due to disabilities). I probably won't be doing slabs like that, but I'll be getting outdoors and having adventures again. Just wow and wow again with bells on.
Amazing footage boys. Just added this to the Bucket list!
Steve, cheers for the shout at 18:42!
Cracking video you guys have made and respect to riding the slab in the wet, for sure some bits would have been deadly on the descent! My own video of the slab on my channel.
Small correction though, my 15yr old rode in on a non ebike so definitely not solely the domain of ebikes. (Though they do help :-))
Definitely go in from the Loch a Bhraoin side as opposed to Dundonnell as the ascent is 80m as opposed to 500m, so not much battery left before the hard work starts on the slab.
All the best
Ewen
Epic video. It was this type of EMBN content that inspired me to get my first EMTB a couple of years ago.
I wish I had discovered EMTBs before I was in my mid-60s.
Great job Steve!!
I am totally in awe of this ride. Steve and Ady are truly epic riders and presenters. Well done. And kudos to the film crew. Could not have done this without them.
This is why I'm emountain biking. To go where no bike has been before. Top quality video. Great footage.
Just awesome you guys.....the riding..the route .. the filming....the whole back country environment...is just wow !!!!!! One of the best mtb vids I've seen ...brilliant thank you.
And Steve just to hear and see your enthusiasm and love for this remote and spectacular part of the UK is just an absolute joy !!!!! Here's to many more to come 👍👍
Great video. It's nearly fifty years since I walked through that part of the Fisherfield Forest, through a blizzard in May. Been back more recently on the bike but coming in from the west side at Poolewe. Fabulous country, you can never get enough of it.
Brilliant …. Wild Isolated Scotland is the greatest place on earth. 😊😊😊😊
I made a loop from Loch a Bhraoin past Loch an Nid to Corrie Hallie in April on my Rise. I never even remotely considered riding the massive slab on my left! Loved the video,.total respect to you guys for taking that on!
I did the slab on my Rise in April. Sent the link from my channel to EMBN, hence the brief mention around 18:40ish.
Got to be one of my favourite videos you guys have done. Makes me all the more excited waiting for delivery of my first ever ebike. Can't wait to get out there and make my own trails. Great job guys 👏
That was the finest piece of adventure video that I have seen this year guys. Thank you for the inspiration!👍🏴
This is a beautiful piece of mountainbiking, nature, adventure. Thanks a lot EBMNfor taking us on this ride. For me it's not only one more video of EBMN it is a documentary worth of watching in cinemas. Everything is spot, the music, the "actors", the videography and for sure the nature.
Fantastic stuff guys. This was like a high end cinematography mini film.
I could watch all the EMBN epic adventure videos one after the other, go back to the start and do it all again.
This video is superb. Everything about it is just fantastic. Especially our host. The enthusiasm and love for the hobby is clear.
Ah, Steve always loves a good slab. Understament of the video at 21.47 "rocks ahead"😅. Great job guys.
Respect, that was, without doubt the best “climb” ever! Well done guys.
Everything about this is brilliant. What a place.
Steve's annotation👌 Adrian, great to have such great videos as memory of the adventure with a friend!
One of the best episodes yet. EPIC 🔥 🤘🤘🤘
AMAZING I've watched this several times!
Incredible! from riding across bogs and rivers to traversing a massive slab up in the Highlands, which I always enjoy when you guys visit Scotland and give me ideas of places to go. What's even better is showing that it can be done on an more affordable mountain ebike. Great drone footage and scenery, an outing to remember, thank you for sharing! 🚵♂😁🤙
Best feature on EBMN I’ve watched. Well done!
Brilliant! I love your emtb adventure videos. Well done!
Absolutely epic ride, and filming job, it’s amazing on my screen, but I can’t begin to imagine it in person..
Wow great post showing some truly epic places you can go on an ebike.
Beautifully done and a wonderful adventure. I really enjoyed this episode. More please Sir. - M
Simply WoW!
Legs 🦵🏽 on pins and needles 🪡 watching this segment. I was terrified 🫣! Pretty epic!
The quality of filming was excellent. The drone footage really captured the scale and grandeur of this part of the Highlands. Great piece of work, well done.
Amazing! Well done boys!
Well written, well shot, well presented. Absolutely awesome stuff
Wow what an epic ride we'll done lads and a fantastic video especially the drone shots.👏
Wonderfully crazy. Heaven and Hell blended together. Congratulations!
Wow! It's so impressive. So much effort, for a huge reward as well as administration.
Fantastic climbing. To me that is what emtb’s are for. Making that crazy climb then riding back down
What a day/weekend! One of my all-time favourite mountains from my time living in Scotland. You guys definitely did justice to the sheer scale/remoteness of that area. Likewise with your recent video riding the boiler plates below the Black Cuilin. Can't fault your determination on that unforgiving terrain. Llongyfarchiadau! Nos da :)
You two are an inspiration :)
Production quality off the chain 🤍
Excellent video to such an isolated and risky area.
Best video ever on the channel ❤❤❤
Very nice!!
That was jaw dropping! Absolutely awesome adventure, and the production of the video was also top notch!
That is the type of riding I like to do. Off grid and wild. Maybe not quite so extreme as that though, that looked Epic!
Amazing content ... I can vouch also.. that Dundonnel hotel is great 👍... stayed there many times on motorbike tours.. great food and beer
Outstanding videos!!! Thank you!!!
Fantastic content. Loved every second
Much appreciated!
Superb video and a real motivator
The previous comment took my word "Kudos". I would have been happy with the approach to the slab but then I am a month into e mountain biking but have cycled on an off for 50+ years. That took balls of steel in my opinion and thanks for sharing it. Scotland truly is wild and wonderful country built for an eMTB.
Downrigth one of the best videos you guys have made. Woow what a place.
Awesome editing. Great vid. Music great too.
Amazing
That the most spectacular scenery I've seen for a long time .
Epic. So many frameable drone shots. Now, come to Canada!
Spectacular! Really showcased what an eMTB can do with great riders.
Epic terrain, as is much of the west and north west of Scotland, or home as I call it.
Awesome 👍👍👍
Unbelievable!
Excellent video guys! I know how tough days like that can be. Brilliant effort!
Excellent effort. Very enjoyable video. I reckon navigating down would have been a bit exciting given some of the drops.
Great quality film and Steve’s commentary brilliant
R you sure your on planet earth wowser that rock face is magnificent looks like your riding on another planet ! 🚴♂️🚴💨💨👊🏻🍻💯
Excellent vid . Fantastic landscape. That Giant stance @ £3500 was it?
Well an affordable emtb that does it all.
Very tempting.
👍
Absolutely brilliant ridin and filming ⚡👍
Nice video Steve looks awesome 😮
Great video really inspiring stuff shows what can be achieved on an EMTB 😮
One of y’all’s best ever
Would absolutely love to see Steve tackle this epic style ride on a frey ex pro bafang ultra motored ebike
very nice vid and super footage guys😍😍😍
This proves rider with experience doesn't require an expensive eeb, well done guys 💪🏾
I want to see more epic rides with 30-45 min videos showing epic trall riding
How on earth did you film this… respect for the film crew. And getting up there is one thing, but getting safely back down is a whole other ball game… well done guys.
Wish I had the nerve to try that. Steve you should have bought something to mark your progress ,something that says EMBN was here would have been cool. Excellent video guys!
That was fantastic 👏🏻 🤩 and my like 👍🏻 was 666th 😁
You are crazy but I love it. Awesome film quality.
We need up behind the scenes channel, MBN camera men.
Climb of the CENTURY!
That was epic guys, this is why I got a ebike .
You should do Helvellyn in the lakes, the best thing I’ve ever done
Memorable location and video. Good thing Steve had Ady pulling him back on the first day. One more thing... Are Ady's ears at different heights?
The last time I did river crossing in New Zealand on a analogue, the bike shop told me that the bottom bracket was so full of water and bikes were not meant for submerging. As Steve does no maintenance he has no idea how much water ingress can damage motors. My brose had to be rebuilt and that was just because of gentle power washing.
Great, spectacular video guys, well done.
And this people is exactly what ebikes were ment to do, look at what they open us upto, this is one I think I'll be sharing to my ebike hater "friends" it might be the one to convert them 👍
Right I'm getting an extra battery!
❤
Steve actually forgot to mention that Cornwall also at the same latitude as Alaska as well.
one for e-mtbs!
Specialized fan bois have left the chat 🤣
Had me thinking of how humans will explore other planets ... 🤜🤛
Good video. but they both have wonky helmets...
I fret over riding through a single puddle with all the horror shit of water ingress. Guess when you have an unlimited supply of bikes it's not a concern. Would really like a vid on all things that have gone bad on bikes you've ridden, but that wouldn't be consistent with the narrative.
🫡
you could camp out with a normal bike and be recharged for the next day...can't recharge ya e-bike can ya...Ha!
I can't rode Scotland again the midges are awful...eaten alive I was... swarms of the things....never again
This does prove though that you do not need a 10k ebike!!
Ffs Steve, talk about the bike a little bit at least!
Really good watch guys. Sure ebikes are good but can you please back of the bullshit about not being possible on a real bike the truth is you versus me on a real bike you wouldnt stand a chance even with 3 batteries in your pack and all of that is rideable on a normal bike .
And yet they still shouldn’t be riding in these wild places. Not cool to ride anywhere you like. Stick to authorised trails and stop ruining the landscape
Wow amazing job guys if watching this video doesn’t make you want to get an E-bike or Evan simply think about changing to the ⚡️⚡️⚡️side nothing else will… can’t wait for mine to come now and boy I’d love to go there one day definitely on my bucket 🪣 list 👍🏻👍🏻
