  • When Steve Jones describes a ride as "One of the best things I've done on two wheels", you know it's been a good one! Such a ride takes a special location, and also a special bike - in this case, the mighty Sgùrr Bàn slab, and the Giant Stance E+. Could Steve and his friend Ady conquer the epic ride to the peak of the slab and back, or would the inhospitable terrain, wet conditions, and untested route thwart them?

Interesting time we live in. This quality of a production, free to be viewed by anyone and everyone, yet by scale of availability only a tiny audience will ever see this mini masterpiece. Well shot, well written, well edited. The solace being it will live forever in this digital landscape.
I could easily watch hours of this.
    Kudos

Steve, cheers for the shout at 18:42!
Cracking video you guys have made and respect to riding the slab in the wet, for sure some bits would have been deadly on the descent! My own video of the slab on my channel.
Small correction though, my 15yr old rode in on a non ebike so definitely not solely the domain of ebikes. (Though they do help :-))
Definitely go in from the Loch a Bhraoin side as opposed to Dundonnell as the ascent is 80m as opposed to 500m, so not much battery left before the hard work starts on the slab.
    All the best
    Ewen

The last time I did river crossing in New Zealand on a analogue, the bike shop told me that the bottom bracket was so full of water and bikes were not meant for submerging. As Steve does no maintenance he has no idea how much water ingress can damage motors. My brose had to be rebuilt and that was just because of gentle power washing.
