The king of stupidly massive scenery is BACK ladies and gentlemen and today we officially kick off an absolutely massive build of the most famous location in all of Warhammer, the Imperial Palace on Terra from the grimdark universe of Warhammer 30000. This build is going to be an absolute monster, and I have actually already been working on it in disguise for well over a year. In today’s video we’re going to explore how on earth I’m going to tackle such a massive behemoth of a build, look at some of the techniques we have at our disposal and give you guys an update on all the progress so far, as well as the plan moving forwards. So without further ado let’s begin the biggest build in the history of Zorpazorp. Well for now at least.

Obsolete and inefficient street planning straight out the 20th century fits the grimdark theme of Warhammer though /j

The sheer amount of work that goes into this - I feel like the fast forward keeps getting faster as the video goes on, but there's still MORE to do and it just keeps GOING ... super impressive work!

Great stuff! I would have liked to see some more shots of the final stage.
Excellent idea to paint the roads with a blue-ish tone. In some boards it just all grey, and you loose all sense of scale or detail. This looks awesome.

One thing I just noticed in regards of why people might chose to not click on the video:
- While the photoshops look great - I have trouble seeing whats happening. I think simplyfied Thumbnails could draw a bit more attention to the eye, especially for people like me who follow each video :) does that makes sense or is it just me?

Wow, those towers look gorgeous and are absolutely epic (pun intended), I love how huge they are, would be a great centerpiece on any LI table, but they so small comparing to the walls of the palace, really showed scale of it for me

I have just an idea, wouldn't it be great also to create a series of short videos each focused just on a single technique of your building process, building from foam, adding texture, grass, rocks etc, so more details about materials and approaches

Few months back when you started this, I moaned that you'd never be able to make some of the walls to scale, with them being literally kilometers high. I fully take it back, bruv. Yer trench would make Luke Skywalker heavy breathe.

@@Zorpazorp Naah, 1/6 scale would be good for a Throne room scene, though. But not a playable surface.Many of us actually play Kill Teams or small-ish 40K games with JoyToy figurers, works really well once you figure out the bases.

little lights in some areas, and some little details on the street would be amazing. I'm just imagining playing on this with low house lights, and parts of the board are lit up more than others.

You know what you could do?? Put some cheap led lights on the floor under the bridges and cover them with a sheet of diffused acrylic, painted orange. It would look like a lava river and nicely illuminate the model from below. Just an idea 😉🍻

I think my only issue with the ruins is that every walkway being broken but still standing looks both repetitive and stretches immersion.
At least have 1-2 intact ones as well as fully collapsed bridges that folded down instead of staying upright.

Have you thought about putting a mirror at the bottom of the bridge section? Would create a much deeper effect. you can get cheap plastic mirrors that can be cut and reshaped as needed

Hey Zorpazorp, I'd love to see some of those timelapse clips as full-length videos. I like working alongside your hobby videos, having some normal footage, with minimal editing and just you gluing plastic pieces together would be nice.
You can always say when Zorpazorp does a board he doesnt make them small. Big is always better. I've only seen the Imperial Palace at Nottingham in photos but this is going to be 1,000 times better. May the God-Emperor protect Lord Zorpazorp.
And another nice one, love the high-rise buildings, that really go up.
It's coming together.
Now, if you have any Avengers, look up Tandem Winged Aircraft, I think that making them fly backwards and hus making the needed modifications, would give you some very nice looking birds.
Heck, the tail wings already have the in-caping to fit that gatling canon, when you do that, the rudders will easily fit on the big wings, just need a bit of tubing for the engine rebuild.
Cockpit will be the hardest, I think, in terms of details.
So freaking epic!!! Massive and the finished sections are awesome!! I'd consider some large blast craters from bombardment... would integrate nicely and save some plastic Crack:-)

Loving this build! Just some feedback.. for busy ppl who might only get to these once in a while, it's potentially confusing that all the vids in the series have pretty much the same name, so I often have a 2 sec look and assume I've already seen it, or I can't find where it starts to watch the whole build in order, so I just give up. It would be useful if the episodes were numbered or you did some playlists in viewing order. Keep up the great work! Loving the batreps on ZH as well!

Youre such a madman Lachy. Quick idea to conserve some pieces and interest, maybe a massive bombblast or orbital strike area being the source of devastation. Also, the only way you can get bigger from here is to make an actual building or even city... I was thinking that its too bad you're so far from miniwargaming. Maybe someday you will have the place where gamers come to use your boards.

Lovely. I don’t play warhammer or care about the story . I am really interested in the build so this comment doesn’t take account usability and canon design. While I like the expanded trench I do hope you bring back the closed in spaces. That hostile and closed in design really speaks to a hive city.
