only 3 reasons to max up everyone: the trophy, even the useless ones can have some good and interesting stories and personal, I think the ending is much more epic if everyone is in there.
Unless you're playing on Merciless, I don't find it that useful. Having that on top of Futaba's amazing Party-wide block feels a bit overkill on protection. But then again, I guess you can't have too much of a good thing.
Macin Jones The Instakill in Royal makes Mishima’s ability so useful when grinding for levels I got to LV 99 with every party member before the final boss.
I totally agree about Ohya. I didn't even come close to reaching 100 % in the palaces at anytime during my game, so her skill is useless. I get what you're saying about the party members, but some of them have good stories, so you might want to rank them up just for that. :)
@@TheRawyan What it comes down to is how difficult is it to manage palaces without raising security? cause that is what makes her pretty useless and Royal doesn't change that enough. Maxing out other Persona users grants access to more chances to increase your effectiveness in combat. Honestly, after playing through once, I'd say prioritize Hifumi, Tae, and the other Persona users along with Futaba to make combat as easy as possible for you.

No, you absolutely should max out your teammates because it makes a huge difference in battle, and also their transformed personas learn evade skills which helps them almost never get their weakness exploited
You are missing the point of confidants if all you look at is just their skills. The main reason why I try to max their links is to open up their fusion personas, which are considered the strongest personas wrt to skills. You can't get Alice to fuse without maxing Tae Takami (Death). Also maxing party member links opens up their awakened personas which are stronger versions of their initial personas which actually helps out in fighting boss battles.
Elzabar Onyx im not missing the point at all. Im only referring to their skills in this video. I never once stated that they werent useful in other aspects. I simply just stated that other confidants should be prioritized over them.

You don’t even really need to use the velvet room often. I played on hard mode initially but I only went near the end of each palace. It can be helpful but I can’t really be bothered to spend half an hour in there when I can just rush in and play well.
You can max all confidant in second playthrough easily. Party member confidant is good because they do save your ass in battle, the fan recovery is good. Futaba is also one of the best, as she can sometimes give you a turn with instant hold up. Hifumi is great for party member swap and battle escape. Most of them are good in my opinion but I agree that Ichiko is pretty useless.

akizzleghoul Yea i guess so. By the time you meet her though, i would just assume that they would have enough practice to be decent at not getting caught, but you're right, some people may just not be as skilled.
Ohya is good for farming SP battery shadows like sandmen and high pixies (ones that sleep you and then you recover your SP every turn). At some point in battle those shadows will freak out and escape, increasing security level.
The most useful confidants are Chihaya with the fortune readings to replace one outing and Kawakami's massage so that you can go out at night to level another confidant when you go to the metaverse.
Ryuji has a some what good skill called 2 insta-kill " which grants that you automaticly kill a weaker shadow if you ambush them which in turn saves you time and SP for the tougher opponents and Makoto has an ability that let´s you check what moves will be drained , nullefied or reflected back at you when you analyse an enemy so , in my opinion , those are some handy skills to have available
Ryuji's instakill is not so useful if you're going for lvl 99 though (unless you use the lame Reaper exploit), because you're unable to get any exp from enemies lategame. Even if you're at the very last map of the entire game the enemies are only somewhere around lvl 75 and will get instakilled once you hit the high 80's. Same thing applies to money farming. Unless you abused the bosses with confusion and high luck personas you're out of luck endgame because of it. This doesn't apply to Mementos of course because you can drive into them from the front without any worries since the enemies can't get the advantage on you, nor can the security level rise.
I actually hate a little Ryuji insta-kill, sometimes it made harder to farm materials for the eternal lockpic or get some extra exp so that's why i don't rank up is confidant to 7 until after futaba's palace.
Have you guys ever think that someone beat this game in just 24 hours in 1 sitting in twitch and he basically get 80% alert meter (not in calling card day) because sneaking in dungeon is so slow? It was done before and that's when the confidant ability used... It's worst in general yes but it has own use when Atlus considering someone is crazy enough to speedrun the game... You can just make resistance Persona for early dungeons and use flu-Reaper trick to level up...
on NG+ I was able to finish all palaces in allmost the first day (In game). Exception of course when a barrier was in theway, that I had to break in the real world. also yeah, the flu-reaper trick. Was amazed how over powered I suddenly. On my first game, the final boss was a pain in the ass. On NG+, I allmost laughed how easy he suddenly was, specially with Satanel as my persona. XD I think thats the first I will go trophy hunting for a jrpg. ;)
I do think that the party members are worth maxing because Protect and endure are really useful, Makoto allows you to scan enemies, Yusuke has skill cards, Haru has vegetables, Baton pass seems like it is getting powerful in P5R, and most of the confidant side plots are really cool.

Okay but the recoveries have saved my party’s asses more times than I can count, mostly Morgana and Ryuji but sometimes Makoto too. Ohya I only did for more exp with devil personas, but even so, she’s hella useless.
Considering I've been caught and thrown out of the dungeon twice already, it sounds like Devil is the first confidant I should max! I've never been good with stealth.
I love how he says not to level up your party members in confidants. Did he forgot about follow-up attacks, getting a retry in negotiation, getting more lenient costs in negotiations, etc?
You forgot to mention that when your Party Members get to Rank 10, they gain an ability that triples their evasion to the element they are weak too. That becomes very useful since the enemies have less chance of getting One More. You can max everyone if you plan everything down to, basically how many shits you have a day ;). Plan everything and you can easily max everyone. Ichiko Ohya is useless to me apart for unlocking that the ultimate Devil. And I guess keeping the Security can be useful.......never got that high though as the most I have ever got too is 50%
Ok look if you want to fuse some of the strongest personas in the game as well as get the hardest trophy in the game (that ties in with the platinum), then you have to max out these confidants
This kat doesn't know what he's talking about. Everything is necessary. Everything is important. Especially ones like the Politictian, the shogi player. Iono this video was annoying. And if the security is too high you get booted out of the palace. Must be playing on safe mode or something.
Ryan Smith lol theres a reason i made a "best confidant" video, where i mentioned the politician, shogi player, kawakami, etc. They just weren't necessary to be mentioned in this video
Who do you think is best support fuuka, rise or futaba. Futaba for me because rise just kept raising my attack even when i was dying and i have'nt play persona 3 so yeah
I agree. The devil confidant is the most useless. I disagree with the normal party member being useless, though. Still, there is a time the devil confidant can be of some use. If you have Star confidant at 7 by the time you reach futaba's palace and with the devil confidant ability to reduce the alert then you can farming 20 aluminium and 10 metal liquid in futaba palace in order to make a eternal lockpick as soon as posible by starting a fight then if there is no shadow which cand drop the materials you can escape, the shadow will reapear after you walk away a little but when fighting it diferent shadows can appear. I do this every playthrough. I think Death confidant is not really usefull but is not useless. Is nice to get a discount and a few new things, it can be important in the first playthrough in order to get the recovery sp accesories, but i can go with normal prices and few basic stuffs without trouble. Sun is more important in the first walkthroug since you can get extra money from shadows, but you can go without the rest of his confidant abilities. Still you can only raise sun's rank until november and you mostly can only raise our confidant with him only in sundays so if you want to max him out you need to put some focous on him.
I kinda agree with him I don't even use my party members and I have kawakami at level two so I screwed up there and my god I didn't know you could copy cards in the safe room with yusuke.
I think they gave her a crappy social link cus they ran out of ideas after all the good social links so they were just tired or didn't have anything that fit her profile unlike the teachers abilitys
Resume of the video: The only reason why we all get Rank 10 with Ichiro Ohya was with the objetive to get the Harem Valentine Scene. There are other not really useful like Ex-Yakusa with the weapons updates but... who actually use the gun for do damage? There is only for one-shot some Shadows with wings hahaha
There is only 1 useless one in the game and that's Ohya. Also the main reason to get your party members up is at rank 10 their Persona's become straight up better versions and you get the better version of evade whatever you're weak to. Like if you're not doing a solo run, not getting the members you are gonna use their upgraded personas isn't smart.
Makoto is generally nice do the first confidant rank cause shadow calculus is generally nice so you dont get f*cking wiped in one turn by a strong shadow in an ambush because you didnt know THEY HAD PSIODYNE AND ONE SHOTTED YOU
I was able to max out all confidants in my first playthrough. I got used to it by playing Persona 3 and 4 for hundreds of hours, EACH. I even had at least 2 and a half weeks before the Final Battle, because of that I didn't have much time to go on dates with Tae Takemi. Feels bad man T^T
I disagree with some of the party member ones to yusuke is really handy for getting skill cards and in a way helped me out with the two s baton pass with every charecter is a must I done 1 of ohiya just so I could work at cross roads and I agree I really like futaba to
I disagree. I think maxing out confidants is great because of the extra personas you can fuse and protect is more op than people think. A full party of protect plus Futabas guard ability is basically protect Joker ultimate
After Futaba joins your team, you can contuine hanging out with him. It also helps if you do some coffee from time to time, that gives some points to Sojiro as well. I also highly recommend, making use of the fortuen teller in the red light are. At least in NG+ she helped me a lot to rank up the last remaining characters, specially Sojiro and Haru
toongrowner1 I'm always making coffee if there's nothing to do. I'm also on course of starting the fortune arcana. Also, glad you replied, because I recently cleared the 4th palace.
your welcome. ^^ And yes, please do. At a certain rank, the furtune teller will get a certain skill. For a certain amount of money, she will highly increase the chance of a rank-up with you character of choice. Possible even a total rank up. So it was at least most of the time when I made use of her. And don't feel sad if you don't manage it to rank up everyone on your first game. Didn't managed it either. But totally got it done in New Game +, specially thanx to max ranking Furtune Teller and the Teacher, with Max Rank, their best abilities get transfared to new game + if you haven't done yet, Rank the teacher to max. Then you will be able to do stuff at night, even after being in mementos or a palace (with some story related exceptions)
So because you never get caught, the ability to lessen the impact of getting caught and resetting it overnight is useless. I ain't trying to grill you, but that seems like an odd circle of logic.
ChopinNuzlocke Essentially yes. Thats like having a gun with no bullets. But the point you're missing is that I said in the video that she's useless to me. It isnt an odd circle of logic, its actually quite direct. If you never "use" something, that qualifies it under the literal definition of "useless". She may very well be useful to other players but to me and the others who don't need her perk, she's useless
I probably should have put Iwai in this list, unless some people here find customizing guns that helpful, otherwise I never use him. What do you guys think??
I max Iwai towards the end of the game just for the trophy.... Once you get Satanael and put him on the electric chair to get the most powerful gun in the game, Iwai is useless...
I also ranked up Iwai mostly for the trophy and to have everyone in the ending (just makes it more epic). But yeah, except one time, I never used his customizing option. After all, most of the times I only use my guns, if they are the weakness of an enemy.
What about Kawakami? She lets us skip class, but it doesn't seem to occur that often, and plenty of chances to read. But hanging out with her is just so entertaining.
Good King Moggle Mog XII kawakami's last skill is one of the best in the game. When you go to the palace or mementos, she can give you a massage that will allow you to still do stuff in the evening without morgana making you go to sleep. And her other skill allows you slack off in every class rather than just hers

I love how he says not to level up your party members in confidants.
Did he forgot about follow-up attacks, getting a retry in negotiation, getting more lenient costs in negotiations, etc?
I was able to max them all out, it’s even easier in Royal too. I didn’t even follow a guide if you know what you’re doing you’re pretty set.
And I guess keeping the Security can be useful.......never got that high though as the most I have ever got too is 50%
Party members are really good though. Definitely rank them up, they get great skills, protecting, and other things
The way you pronounce Futaba and Confidant chaps my ass to no end.
I disagree. Upgrading your teammates Persona's is 👌.
i love the way you say futaba
Futiba
Ryuji confidant is useless!? Wtf
The main reasons you want to max the confidant with your party member is their persona can transform, becoming a stronger persona
so far I maxed out the twin wardens and I haven't even bothered with Ohya when I can craft shit that lowers security lol
In my opinion, maxing out your party members are pretty good since you can get endure or protect, protect saved me from alot of situations.
6:36 the only purpose she has is the raise your charm that's it especially if you want to romance Makoto.
well technically you would want to max all the social links for the gift that you get in New game +/
Ok look if you want to fuse some of the strongest personas in the game as well as get the hardest trophy in the game (that ties in with the platinum), then you have to max out these confidants
When should we tell him that Morgana ranks up with the story?
This kat doesn't know what he's talking about. Everything is necessary. Everything is important. Especially ones like the Politictian, the shogi player. Iono this video was annoying. And if the security is too high you get booted out of the palace. Must be playing on safe mode or something.
Ryan Smith lol theres a reason i made a "best confidant" video, where i mentioned the politician, shogi player, kawakami, etc. They just weren't necessary to be mentioned in this video
i did actually get my security level to max in kamoshidas palace on purpose
Who do you think is best support fuuka, rise or futaba. Futaba for me because rise just kept raising my attack even when i was dying and i have'nt play persona 3 so yeah
Ryuji is pretty useful as well one of his abilities lets you insta kill shadows lower level than you
Personally, I got Ryuji's insta-kill and then just left him be for the rest of the game, rlly helps out in Mementos.
I kinda agree with him I don't even use my party members and I have kawakami at level two so I screwed up there and my god I didn't know you could copy cards in the safe room with yusuke.
I Believe that Ohya isn’t useless at all, and would be a bit more useful when you’re under leveled
I just love Yusuke too much to not ditch everyone to hang out with him lol
There is only 1 useless one in the game and that's Ohya. Also the main reason to get your party members up is at rank 10 their Persona's become straight up better versions and you get the better version of evade whatever you're weak to. Like if you're not doing a solo run, not getting the members you are gonna use their upgraded personas isn't smart.
Party members are good to max out because of protect at rank 9
Me when I skip the dialogue and don't know the characters names
ohya isn't useless unless you don't want Beelzbub
ryuji rank 7 will save u at least an hour of battle time
Makoto is generally nice do the first confidant rank cause shadow calculus is generally nice so you dont get f*cking wiped in one turn by a strong shadow in an ambush because you didnt know THEY HAD PSIODYNE AND ONE SHOTTED YOU
It’s pretty easy to max out ohya, and the scoop ability is quite strong
Adam Red panda wtf does it do
Lmfao "this bitch right here" haha I'm actually working on her but that's cause I like the whole bar theme and scene
Ah yes we love foodabuh
I was able to max out all confidants in my first playthrough. I got used to it by playing Persona 3 and 4 for hundreds of hours, EACH.
I even had at least 2 and a half weeks before the Final Battle, because of that I didn't have much time to go on dates with Tae Takemi.
Feels bad man T^T
90% comments:ohya is useless
10% comments:random stuff
I'm beyond late, but there's only one reason i maxed her.
*Cough*
Beezlebub.
Also i'm trying to 100% the game.
Morgana’s confidant is automatic.
I never bothered getting Iwai past like level 5, is he worth hanging out with?
I literally used ohya’s first few ranks for free charm points
Homie I agree but I’m trying to get all the achievements for this game so I have to do the useless confidants
Also the arcana boosts are fantastic. So I say rank 10 everyone just for that
Actually I disagree with a lot more than I thought. Just max out all the confidants. It's honestly worth the time and it's not as hard as people think
Sojiro never wants to hang out with me. What am I doing wrong, we've been at Rank 3 for 3-4 in-game months now.
flapjackxl You can only progress after the 4th palace
After Futaba joins your team, you can contuine hanging out with him. It also helps if you do some coffee from time to time, that gives some points to Sojiro as well.
I also highly recommend, making use of the fortuen teller in the red light are.
At least in NG+ she helped me a lot to rank up the last remaining characters, specially Sojiro and Haru
toongrowner1 I'm always making coffee if there's nothing to do. I'm also on course of starting the fortune arcana. Also, glad you replied, because I recently cleared the 4th palace.
your welcome. ^^
And yes, please do.
But totally got it done in New Game +, specially thanx to max ranking Furtune Teller and the Teacher, with Max Rank, their best abilities get transfared to new game +
if you haven't done yet, Rank the teacher to max. Then you will be able to do stuff at night, even after being in mementos or a palace (with some story related exceptions)
Bruh if u max party members they unlock their new persona 😁
i feel like an idiot I maxed out ohyas confidant and did not even start the twins confidant untill the 6th palace
Don’t feel stupid! I maxed Strength confidant after Sae’s palace. Guess how easy it was to get Max (I was level 70 ish at the time)
@@VDenny_ But I spent all my time maxing out ohyas confidant OHYA
But maxing party members makes their personas better tho
So because you never get caught, the ability to lessen the impact of getting caught and resetting it overnight is useless. I ain't trying to grill you, but that seems like an odd circle of logic.
ChopinNuzlocke Essentially yes. Thats like having a gun with no bullets. But the point you're missing is that I said in the video that she's useless to me. It isnt an odd circle of logic, its actually quite direct. If you never "use" something, that qualifies it under the literal definition of "useless". She may very well be useful to other players but to me and the others who don't need her perk, she's useless
I'd say max out pretty much everyone
I probably should have put Iwai in this list, unless some people here find customizing guns that helpful, otherwise I never use him. What do you guys think??
I max Iwai towards the end of the game just for the trophy.... Once you get Satanael and put him on the electric chair to get the most powerful gun in the game, Iwai is useless...
I also ranked up Iwai mostly for the trophy and to have everyone in the ending (just makes it more epic).
But yeah, except one time, I never used his customizing option.
After all, most of the times I only use my guns, if they are the weakness of an enemy.
Wow everything you said is true i never get caught exept like you said am annoyed and just want to not deal with the shadows
Remember when all s links did was give you bonus xp when fusing? Yeah, all of theese s links are op compared that
Social links ("confidants") of p5 is much easier than p4 and the worst is p3 (reverse and broken sucks)
When will I unlock the strengthen persona option in the velvet room?
Geezus OTL Igor gives you that after the 2nd or 3rd palace
Luciid Dreamz thanks bro, keep up the good content 💪 already subscribed
Please God pronounce their names right I can't take it anymore
Ryuji can insta kill but you say he is bad?????
How do you get evolved personae without maxing out team confidants
Lmao I agree with this video so much but a lot of people are mad af
2 words... ultimate persona's
I only want Ichiko for her buns...
Your one hundred percent wrong about the party members
Useless no less important than others.
Wait I didn’t get it but by any chance was this just based on your opinion?
Doesn't ryuji give you some good ambush abilities?
