I mean the most you get out of being having one is in the list below: - Accessory equipment from Hawaii event - A 100 SP item from the School Festival - A Christmas item that speeds up your Confidant ranking in NG+ and - A full SP item from the Valentine's Day event to use in NG+. And the only way the romance is expanded upon during the story is during an event in December when you're hangin out with everyone and Ryuji asks u if u wanna get married and if u romanced someone in the group, they react in their own to whatever u say. That's it. So yeah. Romancing is more of a fanservice thing than a story and gameplay thing and u don't NEED to do it if u don't want to.

No, I've beaten the game and I don't recall ever seeing that. I'll see a persona card above a location if there's a confidant there but that's all, it won't say who they are.
Rise, Rise, Rise! ❤ But the only difference is in P5 the Lovers arcana girl isn't simply pushing her romantic route that much as in previous Persona games. At least story-wise; soft subliminal touches still favors her much. Still, Ann is pretty much the best girl of them all in 5 ;) Persona 4 wins about the story. Persona 5 wins about the waifus ;)
