Interesting video. I will be going from Brno to Ostrava and will leave the train at Ostrava Svinov as I am staying at a hotel at the technical college. Thanks for taking me with you.
In the USA Amtrak has ordered a huge fleet of new equipment from Siemens due to debut in 2026. They are calling it Airo train. Looks identical to Comfort Jet including the control car. Power will include dual mode Siemens for use on Northeast (Boston- Washington) electrified corridor.
I just recently saw some article about those Siemens trains for Amtrak. It is good that the are starting to be modernized in the USA. I also saw some new trains for California :-)

I also like classic dining cars. But unfortunately the classic dining car will only be there temporarily until the "Railjet type" bistro cars will be delivered.
Yeah but it's not going to stay like that :(. I'm gonna predict that the bistro car won't be enough for the demand. I think comfortjets could be one car longer with a classic dining car and one more second class and they would still be very profitable. Also 12 bike spaces might seem like a lot but even if there were 20 they'd be often all booked. It would be interesting if they made it so the bike racks could be easily replaced with seats if the demand was low (in winter for example). But I'm not sure if that's feasible or practical
Interesting. I saw a video by the youtuber " Eisenbahn in Österreich+Deutschland und der Schweiz". I want also to tried this new train. I wait for the new dining car. But this one is also super 👍 I don't know why there a seat reservations mandatory, your train was empty, isn't it. New friday I will take the Railjet to Praha or the Eurocity 🤔.
I also saw their video :-) As for occupancy, I deliberately chose a less busy day (Saturday afternoon from Prague). Otherwise, the route Prague - Ostrava is usually very busy, for example this train ends in Bohumín on Saturday evening and returns to Prague on Sunday, when almost all trains are full.
I also like the classic dining car. Yes, recently there has been an increase in prices even in dining cars... for example, goulash soup cost 55 CZK two years ago, now it costs 75 CZK.
Excellent video! I like the design of these new coaches. This year was the first time I travelled by a train that has Siemens Viaggio Comfort coaches (ÖBB Railjet), but in the future I'm planning to try the Czech Siemens Viaggio coaches. Very good idea that they are planning to add it to Budapest. If yes, then I will try. Many likes and subscribes! Greetings from Romania!

Confortjet a taste of Railjet!! In April 2021 Czech Railways (České dráhy - ČD) continues to modernize its fleet for national and international long-distance routes. The Siemens Mobility and Škoda Transportation consortium won the tender for 20 Viaggio Comfort units with nine traction-free cars, including control cars, different from the Railjet and designed for a maximum operating speed of 230 km/h. The cars are currently delivered from 2024 to 2026 and the order amount is around half a billion euros. The units will be equipped with the most advanced features currently available on the European market, providing passengers with the highest level of comfort. With this in mind, the Czech Republic plans to increase the speed limit on its conventional railway lines to 200 km/h and build high-speed lines that will allow trains to travel faster than the current maximum speed of 160 km/h. Here it rather depends on your preference. You can also use Pendolino trains with the carrier ČD. ComfortJet trains will probably no longer run between Prague and Ostrava, as they should move to the route Prague - Berlin.

Great trains I love them. But all the jets could really be named just railjets. It's a well recognised brand and doesn't need a new name for every new variation of the set.
The difference in the name of the trains is due to the fact that Railjet is a trademark of ÖBB, the original ČD Railjets were intended for the route Prague - Vienna - Graz in cooperation with ÖBB, so the name could be there, moreover, they were bought from the order of ÖBB. The newer Jet trains are under a different name because ČD will operate them on multiple lines, and then the distinction of InterJet (mostly for domestic routes) and ComfortJet for long-distance routes.
I thought you would record ComfortJet on IC Ostravan, are there any differences from InterJet or are they all the same? A thumbs up is obligatory and of course greetings :)
Yes, so far IC510/511 Ostravan is the first line where ComfortJet units are operated. Otherwise, the difference between InterJet and ComfortJet is only in the number of cars - InterJet 5-car set without control car, for use on domestic routes (max speed of 200 km/h).
Interjet - 5-cars set without driving cab car, for use in domestic traffic between Prague and Plzen. Comfortjet - will be 9- cars set with restaurant and driving cab car, for use in international traffic.

I really like the exterior design of this train. It's a 2024 modern train but the style is old school from the 70s. I like this look better. The modern regional trains in France look the same. They all look bland just Like most modern cars today.
I also like the edging of this train. Siemens still knows how to make classic trains that allow for some variability, which I like more than complete units like e.g. ICE :-D
Možná by to stálo v potaz, jestli by nebylo lepší relaci Praha - Budapest vést přes Vídeň, a spojení Budapešt - Szob - Bratislava - Břeclav řešit jako REx, třeba v hodinovém taktu.
Personally, I find the first class very disappointing. There is definitely a lack of a kind of compartment car/business class with comfortable seats (similar to RegioJet or Railjet). These trains are even supposed to go to Copenhagen at some point. Can you please show the bicycle parking spaces again?

The newer Jet trains are under a different name because ČD will operate them on multiple lines, and then the distinction of InterJet (mostly for domestic routes) and ComfortJet for long-distance routes.
@@PeteBrandy Yeah I know why they're doing it but I still think that the branding of Czech trains could be unified
ComfortJet will be for international routes and will have 9-cars (after delivery of dining car and control car), and have a top speed of 230 km/h.
@@PeteBrandy As for ComfortJet, I'm lucky that it runs as Ostravan, if I were in Bohumin in the near future, I might be tempted to travel there, after all, it's right close to the border with Poland :-)
Ako vždy super video. Pendolino som už na trati medzi Prahou a Olomoucom vyskúšal, tak teraz môžem niekedy skúsiť nový ComfortJet. 🙂
Nice video. Do you enjoy Hungary?
What is the difference between Interjet and Comfortjet?
Interjet - 5-cars set without driving cab car, for use in domestic traffic between Prague and Plzen.
Comfortjet - will be 9- cars set with restaurant and driving cab car, for use in international traffic.
Yes, the difference between InterJet and ComfortJet is in the number of cars: InterJet is 5-car set without control car, for use on domestic routes. ComfortJet will be for international routes and will have 9-cars (after delivery of dining car and control car), and have a top speed of 230 km/h.
Dost pěkné, už se těším až budou jezdit v plném řazení. Od noveho GVD by měly ne?
Jo, tak nějak by měly vyjet už v úplném řazení.
@@PeteBrandy Natocis?
fajnee
Děkuji :)
@@PeteBrandy you have nice videos(:
Like it, but that restaurant car looks odd
This dining car is a temporary solution as bistro cars for these units will be delivered later.
mě to zítra čeká xd
I really like the exterior design of this train. It's a 2024 modern train but the style is old school from the 70s. I like this look better.
The modern regional trains in France look the same. They all look bland just Like most modern cars today.
I also like the edging of this train. Siemens still knows how to make classic trains that allow for some variability, which I like more than complete units like e.g. ICE :-D
Try traveling by train Budapest Munich by railjet train
I travelled this train in September, but from Munich and I left the train in Vienna.
Jsou to hezké soupravy. Asi první půjdou na EC Berliner. Nevidím důvod, proč plýtvat na Metropolitany, sem můžou i přestavaný vozy z Berlinerů.
A dal si si palačinky ? 😎
Bez jídeláku
Nice train with good conditions for passengers . It's a classic train and I like it .
What felt strange in your video was the fact that the train was empty and I didn't see any
persons at the stations . On afternoon hours ?! Was that a Sunday when you made this
trip ? It looked kind of sad .
Greetings from Portugal 🇵🇹
As for occupancy, I deliberately chose a less busy day (Saturday afternoon from Prague). I was traveling in the opposite direction of the main transport stream. Otherwise, the route Prague - Ostrava is usually very busy, for example this train ends in Bohumín on Saturday evening and returns to Prague on Sunday, when almost all trains are full. Greetings from Prague :-)
@@PeteBrandy
Thanks for your explanation . Now , i understand the " ghost train " but I must tell you that I enjoy more lively and busy trains and stations.
Anyway , i sure liked your vlog but not too much Joy ...
Cheers from Portugal 🇵🇹.
Btw , do you know the River Douro Valley Train or the Little Vouga train in Portugal ? Probably, you do ... just asking ... 👍
.
@@carlosrosas7249 Some people prefer busier trains, but if I want to show more of what the interior looks like, it's better to find a less busy train with less passengers. Btw. also in this train the middle carriages were quite full but since they are all identical I showed the empty ones in the video.. and if you look at the station, I was sitting mostly on the other side of the train with the views to the next (not our) platform so if another train wasn't departing from there, there were no people :-D
I heard something about this train, thanks for the tip :-)
