Given how zombies still feel the pain, how unnatural tgeur hand movement is and how often you see zombie corpses trying to feel the hands against their face, I suspect that every fingertip signals non-stop about extreme heat, cold pain, moisture, being too dry and uncomfortably bloated at the same time, with extreme pain spikes with every strike zombie lands. The "angry" noises zombie makes is the result of attempting to breath (With breathing being compromised by factors such as pain and damaged structure, with lungs being exposed to elements and constantly rupturing from dryness, soaking blood everywhere) through gritted teeth. The "roars" are actually extreme pain moans through same teeth, with poison crab carrier rounding up the sounds they make with the whine. That, or host constantly trying to remove headcrab, fully realising what's happening and whose fault is that, with crab yanking the nerves every time host gets danger close.
The fact that there’s still a person inside haunts me. I can’t imagine what the pain is like. Just hand me a weapon and I’ll make it stop, I can’t handle hearing their screams anymore.
When the head crab has took it's host, it obviously mutates them. But the person that has been mutated by the Head Crab is still conscious. He can still feel pain. And you can imagine the pain he would feel, his ribs have been pushed out of his stomach, and has a huge hole as well. So yeah... It would be painful

Removing the crab doesn't solve the issue that their flesh is missing and they're already dead anyway. It's some hellish life-support the crab is giving them, and if they did somehow survive they'd be in irreversible agony. Always spare a bullet for the headcrab victims.
