Do you think that as productivity increases, banks will look to take on even more deals and therefore not really change the working hours? Perhaps see a combination of middle markets with the bulge brackets?
If one bank uses AI, it’s gonna beat other banks in deal flow. So in the end all banks will adopt AI and hours are same.

Hey i know this has nothing to do with the video but what’s the easiest way to convert a fiscal year to a calendar year? Is there a quick way or do you have to add the quarters
most accurate is adding the quarters. otherwise take the % of each year and multiply to each relevant line item
for ex if fiscal year is 6/30 and you’re calendarizing for 2022 then you’d take 50% x 2022 + 50% x 2023

Then there will be more work in all the industries since everybody's gaining productivity hence no change. But maybe u don't get a job if u don't know gpt, just like u don't get a decent job if u don't know how to use a computer now, or a factory machine two hundred yrs ago. Ofc it's gon be ez to pick up for the younger generation and old ppl will b retiring anyways hence not much change after all.

An interesting one. Analysts haven't exactl;y been covering themselves with glory this last earnings season. The number of reports of analysts being surprised by earnings at the nasdaq companies in particular is somewhat alarming. If you know the companies you cover reasonably well and you know their product, you should not be continuously being surprised. Would AI do any better, probably not, but just not being worse might be enough. I hope not but it would be good to see analysts raise their game a bit.
You misunderstand the banking model fundamentally.
Theyre not paid to be right. Theyre paid to produce marketing materials.

Is there any fututre for High Schoolers who just want to do M and A, investment banking sales and financial modeling. No quant, no coding and so on. Just good old fashioned sales, and still make ungodly amounts of money?
No it’s not the 80s any more. If you want to make ungodly amounts of money you need to do ungodly amounts of work
It's not ungodly amounts of money lol, those days are behind us pre 2008. Finance is a contracting industry: too much competition in the HF/PE/VC/IB space
AI is going to monopolize the tech industry into a couple of winners while cutting employees and thinning the team eventually. Arguably the most potential opportunity is in Biotech, but again risky

no because IB analysts don't have technical skills. they're even the least technical of all the finance analysts. hence chatgpt can't replace them, because their job is not technical.
?????? IB analysts are arguably more technical than ER and AM analysts, and hands down undoubtedly more technical and faster than the typical FP&A/ corpfin analyst
