I swear this is the first time I've heard of this. I got recommended the 2024 championships. I don't understand the rules so I looked it up and somehow youtube is telling me I already played this video? lmao
I didn't know it was a thing!" My brothers and I "invented" this in Virginia back in the early 80's and have played for years. Our version has the opposite team having to catch and return the ball, while in the air (on a jump). If it hits the ground or goes OB, point. It's harder (and more fun) to play with a Nerf football....
Very helpful! Correct me if I'm wrong but you can also get a Ping + Over which is a 0 score since they cancel each other out. And to be valid, the throw must reach a certain height of the roof too, I think?
True on the ping-over. In terms of what we've called the "minimum line," we've always been pretty lenient about that. Since people who can't throw the ball that high consistently aren't much of a threat to win, we tend not to penalize short throws. But it's kinda sorta technically a rule that you have to throw at least up to the imaginary line where the house wall's lower edge is to the right of the pole (if that makes any visual sense).
Yes! Thank you! I recall it from some competition, where a guy just wanted to lob it low and get a catch and there was some discussion that it has to go to a certain height. Probably wouldn't come up much but good to know!
Is there an organization for the game of seining as high as you can on the swings and then kicking your shoe off at the peak and getting it over the swings and as far as you can get it behind you? I loved doing that as a kid. I got real good at it. We’d set out our backpacks as distance markers and everything. Who ever got it the farthest got the point.
Short version: Catch = 1 point Hit the target = 5 points Around the target = 10 points Over the house = -5 points Long version: ruclips.net/video/Xh8dYsfGLJ0/видео.htmlsi=bsvfJ_BHj8MHghsi
Good questions. Three players in a game, 10 throws per player, per game. Players alternate throws (i.e. Player 1 throws, then Player 2, then Player 3, then back to Player 1, etc.) until all have thrown 10 times. Highest score is the winner.
Been playing for 25 years and the roof was just inspected and got a clean bill of health. Don't even need to replace any shingles. Now, we are about to replace the vent pipe (for the very first time), but that's elective - we have a chance to put a strong pipe up there for minimal cost to us, so we jumped at that opportunity. The ol' roof must've been put together right because it can sustain knock after knock from thrown footballs!
Music louder pls
can barely hear the music over all this talking 😒
Lmfaoooooooo 😂😂😂
A kickass sport needs some kickass background music 🤙🏻
Roofball is something i never thought I'd hear in my life but i love it
I don't think we heard anything. Music was too low.
This is doing everything my parents yelled at me for as a kid. And I'm here for it!!!! Adulthood for the win!
This is something I would have made up as a kid with my friends
Guilty.
Video only counts if Derek can throw an around with the roof multiplier on the first take.
Who's here from the TikTok 😂

Fun idea, hope to find this exact house on the market somewhere
Is it always at the same house?
how many throws do you get? How many points do you play to?
That's a very good looking question
Yes because that’s where it originated from .
It's like baseketball the movie 😂
@@JohnWoodson-e1d late to answer this one. No, we’ve played at 8 venues in 6 different states, looking to go bigger in 2025z
I like how they refer to it as “the pole”. It’s a plumbing vent!

The one guy didn’t even have his parents move the car out of the driveway. Cmon!!
I wonder how many takes it took to shoot the video
Do you have to hit the pole directly?
Short version:
Catch = 1 point
Hit the target = 5 points
Around the target = 10 points
Over the house = -5 points
Long version:
ruclips.net/video/Xh8dYsfGLJ0/видео.htmlsi=bsvfJ_BHj8MHghsi
The ball can either hit the target on the fly or bounce first and then hit it. It's a ping either way.
@@rfaroofball PERFECT Thank you happy roofballing
Dying to reveal the big surprise 😁
Just learning about this. So how do you win? First one to a certain point total wins?
If someone ask you what you do how do you explain roofball?
How is this not in the olympics?
We ask our selves every 4 years
So baseketball movie was real…
How many throws do u get? Game duration?

@@rfaroofball and a throw is complete when the ball is not caught?
Wow. Just wow
Would that not be 15 points if you ping+ around the pole?
If the ball goes around you don’t get the ping points.
my body is ready
Bro had the address blocked out now but showed clips from the same house with the address on it
Dereck is drowning a little bit on the last part
Hah we were moving fast to get this created and didn't have time for a ton of takes. He's pretty good in general though!
Insurance won’t cover that roof claim. Hahaha. Turning a 30yr shingle into 5

Of course this was invented in Beaverton.

Same was it the world championship?
It’s literally the same house
This is the dumbest shit I've ever seen.. Roofers must love it and try explaining this to your insurance company when you do need a new roof 😂
Thanks for watching and commenting. 25 years in and no damage yet, but stay tuned!
Roofball, Professional Dodge Ball, Pro Freeze Tag 🤔
🤦♀️
😂😂
Footballs are wack. Baseballs would be better.
Roofball is not a sport.
