I absolutely love this version! I love how beautiful and soothing it is, and towards the end it gets fast. Just amazing! Also, does anyone else feel that the first half sounds like something from a Studio Ghibli movie? It has a similar feel to Joe Hisashi's music xx
I've got to say, i didn't really like this version at first, but after listening to it a couple times, it is legitimately fantastic. Any individual part of the song is likely really slow and boring, but when taken as a whole, the way the mood swings are done is absolutely stellar, especially where the whole song is really slow and out of nowhere it comes in with the fast piano. Very well put together piece of work.
I'm not really sure what you mean. They wanted an opening with ClariS and chose Watanabe to compose it. Kajiura could have done an opening as well. Or what do you mean with misleading?
Qonell In my opinion the makers wanted a different mood and atmosphere in the opening. They intended that the audience think "Ha! This is DoReMi and Sailor Moon kinda stuff!!" The ads in TV and public were like that either. And to achieve this, they didn't engage Yuki for the opening...and then the audience became shocked and frightened even more "efficiently"... ...Problem, and I do agree with Youtubian anime reviewer GRArkada, this opening fits worse and worse as the show grows darker and darker. So I would have prefered Yuki as musician of all the show: One concept, one atmo, no misleading! Just my opinion.
Hattakiri I agree with you that they should have changed the opening at some point like they did with the ending. But you assume, Kajiura only does music with a dark atmosphere. Sure, she does mostly dark mood, but she could have composed a light hearted opening for Madoka as well. This opening is also by Kajiura: Sora no Woto (ソ・ラ・ノ・ヲ・ト) OP/Opening "Hikari no Senritsu" - Kalafina
Hattakiri Actually, the opening is quite fitting if you look at the English lyrics... The lyrics are the very reason WHY it was the ending for episode 10. Clearly it's in Homura's perspective; kinda like Magia, except this represents hope.
Fauve Solange Sivan-Butler I can't help but agree by now! Because I realised by now...Maddy isn't the true main char, Hommy is! The Watanabe opening is prooving it (there are stronger proofs tho)
Puella Magi Madoka Magica has got to be one of the BEST series i've ever watched.

This would have played in a madoka game in end credit for a bad ending, or mostly any ending that madoka didn't ascend...
Wonderful!I almost cry.

Its like the INTRO of Kingdom Hearts 1 game XD
The channel created by a team with real talent is frozen 5 yrs ago, as a record for some young period, as expected
Shou Watanabe WTF???
So they didn't choose Kajiura for the opening only in order to mislead the audience?? This is so mean that it's ingenious oO

Tbh I luv it! But not more than Homura ;)
Why do I keep hearing motifs/motives (IDK how to write this) from "Hacking to the gate" in this...?
Do you mean “osu”?
