@@rev0lve638 depends on how you mean that, since it's a really old outro song don't think it's been in an episode in general though besides that other time
Luffy is extremely good at reading people emotionally and he saw the tiny second of hesitation on Sanjis face and realized Sanji isn't doing this because he wants too.
@Evento0 it's less that he acts dumer its just if he isn't interested he doesnt care. He just wanted to enjoy his childlike wonder but if things get serious he will drop everything to fix the issue
remember what he doing on his training on amazon lily? when luffy fighting a wild lion while he blindfolded himself and he sense that the lion is attacking him not because the lion is angry just because the lion got hurt and luffy just sense that feeling and he remove the stick on lions feet and the lion became calm. for me luffy possessed great haki that he can feel the thing or the person what they really feel
Luffy's emotional inteligence peaked in this episode. When he said "so you've been lying to me entire time" he said it calmly without any anger or suprise. And that one time when Sanji hesitated Luffy knew he is the one getting hurt. God this is the best chapter in all of one piece to me hands down. Anime has those 3 eyecatchers but at least those allow you to breathe to cry even more
At first Nami was just shocked by what Sanji was saying, but when it led to Sanji starting to hurt Luffy without him even fighting back, it became personal for her. seeing someone they both trusted treating the person who saved her and gave her a new chance to pursue her dream. I would also have acted the same when I was feeling emotional
Exactly and it is because none of them knows the reason behind why sanji's acting like that. I'd do the same as sanji if my parents and best friends threatened by one of the most dangerous terrorists in the world. We have to see from sanji's point of view you know. Like Luffy said, the one who hurt the most in this situation is Sanji. And thank God luffy is the damn captain and not anyone else.
I love the fact that a few episodes Hei was barely finding the will to get through the forest scenes and now he's completely emotional watching Sanji vs. Luffy. Every One Piece fan knows what that moment feels like which is why there's nothing else like it!!
especially in this arc the manga is better lol what they did to the first like 15 episodes of the katakuri fight is criminal. I love some of these scenes in the anime though. Sanji vs luffy in the anime with the voice acting is one of the most emotional moments ever for me in one piece for sure.
@@venori5785 highly agree I haven’t watched the full parts of the anime but the manga is something else in terms of pacing and enjoyment, especially if you read it chronologically without breaks. Still one of the reasons WCI is one of my favourite arcs although that snakeman scene in the anime is pretty unmatched even by manga standards
Super glad you caught on with Sanji after that kick. Some people hate Sanji cause of this, like he actually had selfless reasons behind it. He is doing all this for his crew.
Bro what's crazy about people hating him here is that he literally sent himself back to hell for the strawhats. His last interaction with his family is him asking his sister if he leaves will he never be able to see his father's face again. This is way more than dying for Luffy he thought for the rest of his life he was gonna be stuck with those abusers who'd beat him until the end of his days and he just firmed it. And they would've been screwed if he didn't do all this cause Luffy would defo try to fight all the Vinsmoke's (these guys would get smoked tho) and Big Mom to bring him back which would've resulted in his death plus all the crew that was with him
Those are people who think that have an IQ of a rat. Most of the people who hate that seen are zoro stans. even luffy get it Kicking him hurts sanji more than it hurts luffy
i think the poeple who hate him dont hate him for hitting luffy. But its cause he didnt put his trust and bet on luffy and the straw hats. Like if zoro was out in that position and he needed help he would turn to luffy. All the strawhats (minus zoro kinda) literally joined right after luffy saved them from almost certain death. So its just a thing of why didnt sanji trust luffy.
@@nassrnassr4215it's not that sanji didn't trust Luffy, it's that he trusts him too much to know that Luffy will definitely fight against the big mom pirate head on to save him which would just be suicide for Luffy as he's not at their level yet, the reason they succeeded in rescuing Sanji at the end was because of the mafia person's planning which is something Luffy definitely didn't have
I also think you should keep in mind luffy is very emotionally intelligent, you see it with how he reacted to vivi in alabasta and sanji here, he's far from dumb and understands people very well
I don't know why people say zoro would fight sanji Zoro has seen in thriller bark sanji was ready to die himself In moments like these luffy and zoro looks at a bigger picture
It's sad but not enough to make me cry. Sanji is my favorite character but I see it as serious moment (and internally cursing at those people that thinks Sanji is not loyal because of this scene)
When Sanji fed Jing... I was like: "That's the guy I would want as my cook." even a few seconds before Luffy said it. Sanji is not only an amazing cook. He is also kind and emphatic beyond belief. The full package. A good cook needs to be a loving person above all things. It's what they do... make people happy.
This exchange really reminded me of a few things about Sanji and Luffy's relationship that I'd not really thought about since he joined. Because Luffy LOVES food, food is his fuel, he not only eats for pleasure he eats to fight and be strong so he can achieve his goals and protect his people. Having Sanji as his cook means he trusts Sanji with his wellbeing, to make sure he can be his best, similar to Chopper. Luffy can give it his all in a fight bc he knows no matter how banged up he gets, Chopper will patch him and Sanji will feed him. And Sanji knows that with Luffy, food will never go to waste or go unappreciated. For Luffy to reject FOOD until he has Sanji back is such a major declaration of love and loyalty. Luffy is not a person who tolerates being hungry for even a moment. Luffy is so good at believing in his people even when they are being the worst version of themselves because he knows their heart. All he has to do is see it one time and he's locked in. Sanji showed Luffy his heart when he first told him about All Blue and that was that.
I remember some zoro fans were like. "if zoro was there he would teach him a lesson for disrespecting the captain". I believe these people fail to understand both sanji (for obvious reasons since there are hostages) and zoro (for thinking he wouldn't be able to understand someone like Sanji IS loyal and that all of that's an act)
It’s so dumb because zoro knows sanji is a real one let’s not forget sanji was going to sacrifice himself back in thriller bark until zoro knocked him out
Its simple. Luffy isnt the sams dude during usopps tantrum. And the situation is different. Luffy is the captain now. Not just in title. Whatd really happen if zoro was there is luffy would tell him to stand down. And that would be the end of it. And zoro would comply
Nah that's a bad justification bro...he never told Luffy the situation instead he used his strongest technique on his friend. I understand both Usopp and Sanji feelings but they need to use their words😢
This is also the hardest ive ever cried watching one piece. Theres just something that hits especially hard about someone seeing someone else trying to self sabotage a the relationship and going no. Im, not going to leave you. Your still my friend and i know this is hurting you more than me
16:0216:42 so much hard hitting deep scene. Portrays perfectly that Luffy and Sanji's dreams are exactly the same or bound to each other they just haven't realised it yet. Peak storytelling for real.
Luffy isn’t dumb he is very emotionally intelligent, he knew what Sanji was going through, what upset him was the fact that Sanji didn’t ask Luffy for help even though he knew he wanted it, it’s a very similar situation to Nami in Arlong park and Robin in enis lobby.

She didn't even try to understand its reasons "whatever the reason is, he can't do this". She literraly knew nothing of what was going on but was already blaming Sanji, even though I understand she was trying to defend her captain, it doesn't mean it blinded her ability to believe in her friend. @@mateo0123 zoro respects usopp just as much as sanji he knew usopp posed a threat to luffy and he choose not to intervene he’d do the same with sanji even tho sanji is a bigger threat than usopp. Zoro knows that this is a captain places to deal with these things
There's one layer of character traits about Sanji you need to understand. All this time, Sanji has a self-worthiness issue. From his childhood he was told that he is weak, useless, too kind, trash, bullied by his own father and siblings. Sanji sees himself as not worthy to be loved and can be replaceable. That's why in Thriller Bark he said go find a new cook. But Luffy is pretty clever to understand human emotions. That's why he did not buy Sanji's BS. That's why he told him "Without You I cannot be a Pirate King".
One of the few One Piece moments that hurts everytime, Manga, Sub or Dub. "Without you, I can't become King of the Pirates." There's no doubt Luffy loves his crew(family) but to hear him have to say it out loud, that hurts.
It's even more deep. Perfectly portrays that Luffy and Sanji's dreams are same or bound to each other. That's why the previous scene is sanji saying "do you know about all blue?" It makes so much sense. Peak storytelling for real.
There hv beren only 3 moments that have genuinely made me cry 1. Going Merry's death 2. Ace's death 3. Luffy vs Sanji These 3 moments just genuinely hit is with unlimited sadness. I cannot imagine anyone willing keeping a happy face after watching them. One piece is truly amazing.
I cried alot ngl i watched it when it came out so i had no Idea what can happen next its crazy how this show has made me cry so often theres not an anime i have cried to except one piece and ive seen alot of them
Bro you know you love the series when you just love seeing characters doing normal shit like in thriller bark I would give anything to watch straw hats just chilling and goofing for an arc
I like how when whitebeard died trying to save his son he didn't cry but in a arc when sanji got kidnapped to be married to a beautiful women he's so sad
he's not sad because sanji is kidnapped, it's sad to see Luffy and Sanji fight when there's no one in wrong, since they were together almost since start.
For me, the difference between Usopp and Sanji, is Usopp chose to fight when he didnt have to, but Sanji feels like he has no choice, but doesnt want to
This part of One Piece makes me cry more than any other. It hits so fucking hard. Also Luffy is dumb generally but emotionally he is not. He knows when people aren't being honest
Luffy KNOWS how someone feels, and he always wants to help everyone, but the way he works is that they need to ASK. They need to be honest with him and show that they actually WANT help. For example, when he wouldnt stop nami from losing herself until she showed her vulnerability to him and asked him for help, that's when he was ready Luffy isnt dumb for getting mad about what sanji said about him and the crew, he knows that somethings wrong because he knows sanji would never talk like that about his friends, luffys mad because sanji's trying to cover up how he feels by saying such unthinkable things instead of coming clean and showing that he wants help Luffy didn't fight back because he needed to see the real sanji, and he knew what to do the moment sanji had the look of hesitation on his face, he was well aware that sanji was the one hurting
Damn dat was so tuff the first time watching it didn’t make me cry but I’m balling rn 😭😭😭 fkn broke my heart to see sanjis struggle and his captain not losing faith in him
Luffy immediately knew something was up with sanji. Sanji wants the crew to leave so they can live, since he doesn’t feel like he is worth anything, but luffy knows this, and knows he cant say anything to sanji until he is able to get him to open up. Luffy is easily one of the most emotionally intelligent characters ever written.
I cried a 100 times while watching one piece but not gonna lie this is the one that got me literally bawling for an hour straight. I was barely holding it and then they played the goddamn ending "Memories".
I wonder if oda actually has a plan to include luffy facing off against every straw hat member at some point in the story. So far we got Zoro, Usopp and Now sanji. Certain circumstances would have to lead into these confrontations, like I can potentually see Robin having conflicting goals with luffy at some point on there journey to discovering the world's secrets but i can never see someone like chopper, franky, nami or brook ever fighting against luffy but who knows.
There have been many times One Piece has made me "Happy cry" The X's in Alabasta, Usopp's apology and rejoining of the crew etc. This fight was the first time I sad cried. Luffy and Sanji have been homeboys for 800 chapters/episodes and it really sucked to see that happen. Especially when neither one really wanted this. Benefit of One Piece being a long story tho. Stronger connection to the characters that really makes these hit hard.
Zoro might be more understanding about this situation than Usopp's. The main reason being that not only was Sanji taken against his will, not only would he lose his family, but I wouldn't hold it past Capone taking Pekoms' vivre card and give it to Big Mom, who would bring the whole clan.
I'll never forget this moment in time they did two episodes of One Piece and the week after two episodes of DBS or the other way around bit it was dope af because both anime had pretty big moments at the time
“Without you, I can’t become the King of the Pirates” What a fucking line, shit got me bawling

@@mateo0123 zoro respects usopp just as much as sanji he knew usopp posed a threat to luffy and he choose not to intervene he’d do the same with sanji even tho sanji is a bigger threat than usopp. Zoro knows that this is a captain places to deal with these things
@@mateo0123 Zoro isn't snowflake babygirl lile nami or you and luffy is 10x stronger than them thats so disrespectful to luffy if zoro would interfee

The voice acting from Luffy... Holy shit. That got me hard the first time I watched
Seeing this goofy as kid say "I am gonna become King of Pirates "for 800 episodes and then he says he "cant become without" man... Goda!
aside from the awful pacing I think this is one of my fav arcs, purely because of how tragic everything that happens to Sanji is
“No matter how many times you kick me, you’re the one who gets hurt” Damn right Luffy, u read him through 😔
the first time i heard it, hit me inside so much......💔💔💔💔
There's one layer of character traits about Sanji you need to understand.
"Without you, I can't become King of the Pirates."
There's no doubt Luffy loves his crew(family) but to hear him have to say it out loud, that hurts.
it hurts so much
It's even more deep. Perfectly portrays that Luffy and Sanji's dreams are same or bound to each other. That's why the previous scene is sanji saying "do you know about all blue?" It makes so much sense. Peak storytelling for real.
Your one piece reaction is the only thing that's keeping me alive so keep em coming
Even if Luffy is usually dumb, he can read people better than anyone else, so it's no surprise he caught on Sanji's act.
Sanji couldn't even look at Nami in the eyes after she slapped him because he was so ashamed.
There hv beren only 3 moments that have genuinely made me cry
1. Going Merry's death
2. Ace's death
3. Luffy vs Sanji
These 3 moments just genuinely hit is with unlimited sadness. I cannot imagine anyone willing keeping a happy face after watching them. One piece is truly amazing.
And that's why Luffy is my Best MC of all Time 💖.. He prove his word that he said in Episode 1.
I cried alot ngl i watched it when it came out so i had no Idea what can happen next its crazy how this show has made me cry so often theres not an anime i have cried to except one piece and ive seen alot of them
i honest to fuck forgot how much these episodes broke me... tears are literally streaming down my face
Bro you know you love the series when you just love seeing characters doing normal shit like in thriller bark
I would give anything to watch straw hats just chilling and goofing for an arc
Reasons like this always make me feel great about having luffy as my favorite MC
"i'd do anything to go back to thriller bark"
Heisuten in thriller bark: 😴
THERE'S NO MAN WHO HASN'T CRIED IN THIS FIGHT, BRO. ONE PIECE KNOWS HOW TO DESTROY US
when I came here, I was mentally prepared, and cut to 17 minutes later, I'm crying my "ASS OFF"
I like how when whitebeard died trying to save his son he didn't cry but in a arc when sanji got kidnapped to be married to a beautiful women he's so sad
he's not sad because sanji is kidnapped, it's sad to see Luffy and Sanji fight when there's no one in wrong, since they were together almost since start.
after the first time i watched this. i was never again able to rewatch their fight scene
For me, the difference between Usopp and Sanji, is Usopp chose to fight when he didnt have to, but Sanji feels like he has no choice, but doesnt want to
Exactly, i totally agree!!!!!
Oada made sure to make us cry with that song after the fight
This part of One Piece makes me cry more than any other. It hits so fucking hard. Also Luffy is dumb generally but emotionally he is not. He knows when people aren't being honest
To this day this is one of the best episodes in One Piece
Shi got me sobbing
You know if Luffy is swearing off eating, that shit just got serious.
the only time luffy told he couldnt become the king of the pirates
The voice crack of luffy when he Says Ore Wa
Luffy KNOWS how someone feels, and he always wants to help everyone, but the way he works is that they need to ASK. They need to be honest with him and show that they actually WANT help. For example, when he wouldnt stop nami from losing herself until she showed her vulnerability to him and asked him for help, that's when he was ready
Luffy isnt dumb for getting mad about what sanji said about him and the crew, he knows that somethings wrong because he knows sanji would never talk like that about his friends, luffys mad because sanji's trying to cover up how he feels by saying such unthinkable things instead of coming clean and showing that he wants help
Luffy didn't fight back because he needed to see the real sanji, and he knew what to do the moment sanji had the look of hesitation on his face, he was well aware that sanji was the one hurting
16:35 yes the shit pacing of thriller bark looks gold when such scenes hit and memories song starts playing
Sanji backstory hits different + this heartbroken fight 💔
Damn dat was so tuff the first time watching it didn’t make me cry but I’m balling rn 😭😭😭 fkn broke my heart to see sanjis struggle and his captain not losing faith in him
This is the one moment out of all that hit me the hardest idk why I remember watching with tears rolling down my face
I remember reading this chapter and crying non stop 😢
This and Sanji seeing pudding's real Identity really broke me
I agree this episode was tough, it left me in tears too though :(
Luffy immediately knew something was up with sanji. Sanji wants the crew to leave so they can live, since he doesn’t feel like he is worth anything, but luffy knows this, and knows he cant say anything to sanji until he is able to get him to open up. Luffy is easily one of the most emotionally intelligent characters ever written.
I fucking cried when they gave the recap with the iconic music 😢
“Luffy is so dumb” ironically YOU don’t know luffys character, luffy has amazing emotional intelligence
I cried a 100 times while watching one piece but not gonna lie this is the one that got me literally bawling for an hour straight. I was barely holding it and then they played the goddamn ending "Memories".
And when you think it can't get any worse...
Will keep saying this but whole cake is one of my favourite arcs
Hei talking about them not believing in Sanji, Hei is the one that didn't believe in Luffy 😂
This was the episode I was waiting forrrrrrr 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🙌🙌🙌🙌
I wonder if oda actually has a plan to include luffy facing off against every straw hat member at some point in the story. So far we got Zoro, Usopp and Now sanji. Certain circumstances would have to lead into these confrontations, like I can potentually see Robin having conflicting goals with luffy at some point on there journey to discovering the world's secrets but i can never see someone like chopper, franky, nami or brook ever fighting against luffy but who knows.
this is an example of when Oda can cook better than Sanji
There have been many times One Piece has made me "Happy cry" The X's in Alabasta, Usopp's apology and rejoining of the crew etc. This fight was the first time I sad cried. Luffy and Sanji have been homeboys for 800 chapters/episodes and it really sucked to see that happen. Especially when neither one really wanted this. Benefit of One Piece being a long story tho. Stronger connection to the characters that really makes these hit hard.
bruh.. this shi made me cry all over again man
Bro is speedrunning upload schedule, now with premiere
That being said, concasse is my favorite move from sanji 🔥 but this episode is pain 💔
the panel of sanji talking about all blue is one of my favorites of the whole manga, this is just too sad
ODA !!!! Just One Arc.....Where we don't have to Cry Please....!!!! Litres of Tears have left me Broken already....😢
Yea luffy says Without you i cant be the pirate king and the voice acting just hit hard
I cry to this scene everytime i rewatch goatpiece😭😭😭
Zoro might be more understanding about this situation than Usopp's. The main reason being that not only was Sanji taken against his will, not only would he lose his family, but I wouldn't hold it past Capone taking Pekoms' vivre card and give it to Big Mom, who would bring the whole clan.
When luffy said “shut up” or Nami that “Gah dayumm😖” was too zesty
I'll never forget this moment in time they did two episodes of One Piece and the week after two episodes of DBS or the other way around bit it was dope af because both anime had pretty big moments at the time
You know shit is real whenever they start playing the first ending song
luffy didn't even try to fight back, he just defends himself, shows how loyal he is to his own crew
But when you search this
Luffy punches Sanji HD 💀
@@DodongAsuncion i just searched "sanji vs luffy"
Luv you man, thx for the reactions
"No way he's diabo Jambling" 😭
i broke down too brother...
Luffy is the friend you could only wish for
Its my 100th time seeing this scene. Its my 100th time crying.
