People who dont like the black maria moment absolutely dont understand sanji even a little bit. Its the first time he put a woman in direct danger showing his unshakable trust in his crew, AND its also the first break from his sacrificial nature, putting more worth on his own life as well.
Speaking as someone who's not a massive fan of Sanji (please note I still like him, it's just that I think the entire Straw Hat crew are fantastic, and there's always gonna be a last place in every group), this moment *fucked*. It was a genuinely wonderful character moment for him to see him actually ask Robin for help, and basically as soon as Onigashima began I got a nice reminder of all the stuff about Sanji that initially made me like him as a character so much. Thriller Bark/Sabaody to just after Fishman Island kinda took away a lot of the stuff I really liked about the guy, but basically the minute he met Viola, the dude began swinging for the fucking fences.

I think it's a question that perfectly represents how people can differently see Zoro and Sanji's relationship and their characters.
They bicker and fight, but they still respect each other and care for other's well being. That's just how some friendships are.
I personally think Zoro would be upset, but not at the fight specifically (since he also was about to fight Luffy in Whiskey Peak, due to a misunderstanding). Zoro is not stupid, he would figure out that Sanji had his reasons. I think he would be irritated at what the reasons were. Just like when he got the information in Zou, he would be mad, but still back off until he can get the whole view on the situation. He wouldn't fight or want to kill Sanji, like some like to say.

I strongly agree, I think zoro is emotionally smart enough to assess the situation before immediately fighting sanji, also if zoro seen luffy not fighting back in the first place what sense would it make for zoro to start attacking him? Luffy may be dumb at times but he can read people perfectly and I think zoro understands this, so ultimately I think he’d stay back until luffy gave him a go ahead or until he fully realized what sanji was doing it for. The take that people say zoro would immediately attack sanji for hurting his captain just sounds like the most meat head thing zoro could ever do, just attack first and ask questions later without even trying to figure out a reason in his head as to why he would be doing something so extreme to luffy in the first place. I’d like to think zoro is more intelligent than that especially knowing it’s sanji of all people.

Zoro is logical to a fault sometimes, despite the meathead allegations. I think he trusts Luffy enough to handle this.

I think before anyone asking this question, anyone who claim themselves as a One Piece fan need to recall first, why Zoro was not in Whole Cake Island.
Sanji casually Kickin away a laser from Kizaru at point blank range made me lose my shit when I first read it, also earlier in Egghead when he teleported and took Kaku off the board. What if HE fights Shiryu 👀

Sanji isn’t a perv as far as I’ve seen, he’s a simp, he’s doing everything he can to get girls to fall in love with him and the only timeshe’s ever really been pervy is in his raid suit and when he switches bodies with Nami. Other than that, he’s just treating himself like a doormat for women but he won’t ever touch them, even if his life depends on it. He is so afraid of hurting his friends that he tells Zoro to kill him if he loses control. And people still talk down on him. Also, after Usopp and Robin return after leaving the crew, Nami accepts them with no hesitation, but when she sees Sanji again after WCI, you can tell how much it affected her that he left, and the way she smiled when he caught her, shows the possibility of something in the future.
I love Sanji getting his popular with women phase. Viola liked him, Pudding liked him, let's keep it going!
15:20 Yeah, Sanji was later revealed that he was indeed trained to use weapons by Judge, so he knows how to use knives, swords, polearms and guns. He just respects his hands too much to use them that way
You didn’t mention the part about him kicking light being impossible and Sanji saying “Nothings impossible with passion” and kizaru just like, “that’s not how science works”

Sanji is my favorite one piece character. Even before I watched one piece I just liked what I had hear about him and his fighting style and drip was always so cool to me. Now that Im caught up he still remains my favorite. Yeah he has his ups and downs but I just absolutely love his character despite me sometimes wanting to deck him in the face for some of the stupid stuff he does.
He's my favorite too, but being Sanji fan is such a struggle sometimes when Toei insists on making his worst pervy moments even worse that they were in the manga 😭

I feel like Zoro would have a different reaction to Sanji fighting Luffy than Usopp, mainly because Usopp left of his own accord due to insecurity, not only that but he challenged Luffy which Zoro did not like, meanwhile in Sanji’s case he’s being blackmailed by his scumbag family, risking pissing off a yonko on her own island, imo the most dangerous yonko too
Zoro would be mad but not because Sanji beat up Luffy, but because of the Vinsmokes and Charlotte pirates trying to break up the crew and keeping Luffy from the pirate king title, plus he knows swirly brows wouldn’t just leave the crew
Both left due to insecurities, BUT Ussop's decision was purely selfish while Sanji's was just calculated "I see no better alternative, and even letting them be dragged into this might cost someone their live".
Hell, Zoro even agreed with him and said to leave him because they can't fight against two Yonkou at the same time. Zoro knows that Sanji is smart, and if he couldn't figure out some non combat way to deal with problem, Zoro wasn't willing to risk everyone to beat their way out of it.

I’m a Zoro fanboy but I’ve been around a while and I think I know what the deal is with the Sanji focus Oda has. I honestly think it’s pretty fair too.
I think Oda really noticed the huge backlash Sanji received back in the early post-timeskip. It was like Sanji then became Oda’s least favourite character and he did really very little with him for years until Wholecake.
The Four Emperors saga acted as a renaissance for Sanji, which I think was v needed.
So now that we’re in Egghead I think Oda isn’t overhyping him, only that Sanji’s old pre-time skip prominence on the crew is being normalized and we just have to adjust to it lmao

For WCI, if Zoro was there, I think he would know immediately that something is seriously wrong. Especially if Sanji didn’t respond to banter and gave him the same cold look he gave Nami.
The Luffy/Sanji fight maybe wouldn’t have happened because I think Zoro would have advised they back off and leave Sanji alone.
If Luffy insisted on a fight, then Zoro would do nothing. He’d struggle to witness it, but he’d understand.

@@getpape4126 Zoro isn’t some terminator who only cares about Luffy and no one else. He does value loyalty, but he’s still an autonomous character with his own interpersonal relationships. Not just Luffy’s guard dog.
Sanji and Zoro have a close relationship; I think he would know just by looking at Sanji that something isn’t right. Zoro would know/understand that Sanji isn’t coming back right now. It’s not a battle he can win. What would he accomplish by beating the shit out of Sanji at that moment anyway?
If you don’t believe in Sanji and Zoro’s closeness, then at very least you believe that Zoro respects Luffy’s decisions. If Luffy insisted on fighting Sanji like he did; Zoro would stand down because that’s captain’s orders. At worst, the aftermath would be Zoro punching Sanji later at their reconciliation. Threatening him to never do that again.

If he can avoid having to actually hurt his friend, why wouldn’t he? Why do you think he would purposefully disregard the struggle he sees in Sanji and/or disregard his captain to fight Sanji?
If you want to imagine a serious Zoro/Sanji fight because you think it’s cool, and more specifically it seems you’d like to see Zoro beat Sanji - fine. I generally get the appeal. But I don’t think it fits for Zoro and Sanji as characters in the WCI situation.

I'm sorry I know its part of odas writing, but can I just say that Sanji has so much more potential, than oda allows and its really frustrating, even in the current ark. He can never let the man go off so to speak. Not only as a person who doesn't appreciate the whole zorro is better than him plotpoint, but also the he never is written to do conqueror level things. I am a fan of all the big three from this show, of course sanji being my favorite, I just wish he was respected in the plot and story to stand on conquerors level business and not be plot nerfed.
To me, Sanji has some of the most brutal attacks in the series. Anti-manner kick course still lives rent free in my head.

People forget that Sanji fights a man with an invincible body who can control flames in his first fight in the series, in East Blue. Zoro takes all the way until Wano to match this feat.
