I like the optical connection on the Hyperboom and the fact you can change the EQ to your liking, unlike the JBLs. I am a JBL guy (Because it’s a Harmon Kardon brand) so switching to UE, idk. Maybe... I’ll have to check em out at a store before I decide! Thanks floss!

Maybe your speaker came with the update as stock. I just got a hyperboom today after hearing it in person for the first time. I was absolutely blown away. The sound quality is difficult to even believe.
I'm watching this video using some older Dell speakers & I'm impressed with the Hyperbooms. I thought the JBLs were a little "brighter" in sound quality whereas the Hyperbooms made me feel like I was in the surrounded by the music.
Having used speakers like these you definitely want to add on and get a second. Party and outdoor use is great if your party is on the go. However if you get this for home use I'd say spend the extra $100 and get a Sonos Play Base/Bar. It's definitely a Quad Major go, all app controlled, easy set up, nice presentation alert and you can add your Play 5's and Sub as you go along to create a full 7 Point Surround Sound System. They are not cheap but they blow Bose out the water easily in all categories. That's only if you are buying for home use.
Just listened to with my Jabra 75t Elite wireless earbuds - wow - you said it right Flossy. The rich deep base of the UE Hyberboom is incredibile. The JBL BoomBox is clearer but the sound seemed flat to me. As you say, test them out live to be sure you get what you want, but I am impressed with what I could hear from your video - well done.

I couldnt pick between this and boombox 2 , so i bought both with intentions to return one. Side by side its instantly clear that the hyperboom has alot better bass and sounds more quality , Boombox 2 is a little louder but less bass , outside the boombox loses almost all its bass while the hyperboom still retains it so the boombox 2 is going back to the store ! HYPERBOOM is the better choice trust me .

They seem like they sound pretty good. Hey, have you reviewed Marshall Tufton? I was mindblown by those. I almost bought a Boombox, but the Marshall Tufton destroyed it with quality sound and strong bass..
The Boombox is goin to sound brighter because A. It has two tweeters facing you unlike the Hyperboom that has it's tweeters spaced out and firing in a 90 degree angle B. Bass on the Boombox is not as punchy and deep as the Hyperboom. The Hyperboom will definitely have better sound staging, stereo imaging and sound dispersion. It also has a higher wattage output, 90w vs 60w, and have larger tweeters, woofers and passive radiators. The only thing that has the Boombox goin is that IPX7 rating. The Hyperbass sounds way fuller, warmer and has a more 'hifi' sound between the two. Also, according to other reviews, the Hyperboom produced higher SPLs when measured, which is weird. Lets just wait for the Boombox 2 and see if that sounds better than the Hyperboom. Bout to throw my money at UE, but the Boombox 2 is holdin me back.

JBL boombox has very clear vocals compared to most portable bluetooth speakers unless you buy the B&W wedged or sound soundboks the most loudest portable bluetooth speaker for pure sound quality for size even if it's not portable devialet phantom kills them both

I have the megaboom and boom and both are great together with rich clear sound highs and mids but could use a little more low end bass with that big boy would help for sure
Ich habe 3 Megaboom, eine Boom 3, eine Megaboom 3 und eine (bald 2) Hyperboom. Der Sound von allen zusammen ist schon echt klasse. Super Raumklang innen wie außen und eigentlich absolut störungsfrei über die App. Ich kann es mit JBL oder Anderen nicht vergleichen. Möchte ich aber auch gar nicht, weil das System mit der Kopplung aller Lautsprecher einfach zu genial ist. Ich Alle meine 7 Lautsprecher und was noch dazu kommen wird. JBL ist auch sehr gut, das gesamte System von UE gefällt mir halt noch besser. Zumal ich da mittlerweile einen Wert von fast 2000€ zuhause habe. Die einfache Verbindung aller Lautsprecher habe ich so komfortabel bisher noch nicht annähernd bei irgendeinem anderen Hersteller erlebt. Das System ist für mich so gut bis fast perfekt, daß ich überhaupt gar nicht nach etwas Besserem suchen wollte. Selbst bei einer wirklich ausgedehnten Party machen die Boxen normal nicht vor dem allerletzten Gast schlapp. Ehe ich mir was Anderes kaufe, würde ich das System viel wahrscheinlich mit weiteren Lautsprechern erweitern.
I can easily add more Bass to the JBL using my PowerAmp app. It has a 10 band EQ. Flossy, I appreciate your honesty in saying a RUclips video isn't going to do it justice. That's way cool.
I've been split between the Marshall Tufton and UE Hyperboom. Wanting that Marshall classic quality experience, but then Flos had to rock 2 of these things so I'm now rocking 2 Hyperbooms and well, No FOMO with the Marshall Tufton while having these 2 bouncing my eardrums around. Sold! Left speaker SonicBoom and brother Hadoken are going hard, and ready to go anywhere.

I think in a larger room the JBL will win. I went into the St Louis Cardinals store at the stadium and music was playing from one of those JBL speakers. it filled the whole store with sound. Good video.
I bought a hypeboom and yes they have excellent bass. But for me after having it for 3 days I was dissapointed with its lack of high frequency. For me it sounded too muddy. IMO iT needs tweeters to balance out the sound Even with the EQ I t just sounded muddy. But that was my experience, I am sure there are many people out there who have a different opinion. I bought mine on the internet and it does have good reviews. Quality and build were very good. I sent mine back got refunded and I think maybe I will get a diamond box speaker. Love your reviews, man! Please help me sort out couple of these confusions. So, I'm pretty much into debate, amongst these speakers, Boombox 2 and Hyperboom. Definitely I'm looking for a clear, crispy and most natural sound but then the bass at lower frequencies shouldn't be compensated. Which one do you think can deliver better my needs? let's not bring their prices to the decision! Secondly, it seems here in India, the Hyperboom has gone out of stock, and can't expect it to arrive back, im anytime within 3 months. So, if I go with Boombox 2(owing to its availability better ) , does that seemscompensating with the sound quality in any manner? Or should I be biased enough to hold on, until the thing arrives back? Third, does the Boombox 2 really does drop the vocals and that sound signature, around higher volumes, say 80 percent? And lastly, if I were to listen, around 50 percent volume, which one would you suggest to vibe out? Do, you think if I won't make it to Hyperboom, there'd be lot regret about?
Who else had to stop saying "major" cause they were expecting at least 3 of them? Only 2 majors? Come on flossy 😁. I would get this over the boombox 1 or 2 and I'm a JBL fan! I've always been a UE fan since their first speaker but didn't really get any of their recent ones at all. Why? Because I wanted more bass. Then came all those JBL and HK speakers with a lot more bass. I'm definitely gonna pick this up but waiting for a sale though. I miss features like remote power on and battery life voice. Sony speakers are nice too tho.

I have the megaboom and boom and both are great together with rich clear sound highs and mids but could use a little more low end bass with that big boy would help for sure
Ich habe 3 Megaboom, eine Boom 3, eine Megaboom 3 und eine (bald 2) Hyperboom.
Der Sound von allen zusammen ist schon echt klasse.
Super Raumklang innen wie außen und eigentlich absolut störungsfrei über die App.
Ich kann es mit JBL oder Anderen nicht vergleichen. Möchte ich aber auch gar nicht, weil das System mit der Kopplung aller Lautsprecher einfach zu genial ist.
Ich Alle meine 7 Lautsprecher und was noch dazu kommen wird.
JBL ist auch sehr gut, das gesamte System von UE gefällt mir halt noch besser. Zumal ich da mittlerweile einen Wert von fast 2000€ zuhause habe.
Die einfache Verbindung aller Lautsprecher habe ich so komfortabel bisher noch nicht annähernd bei irgendeinem anderen Hersteller erlebt.
Das System ist für mich so gut bis fast perfekt, daß ich überhaupt gar nicht nach etwas Besserem suchen wollte.
Selbst bei einer wirklich ausgedehnten Party machen die Boxen normal nicht vor dem allerletzten Gast schlapp.
Ehe ich mir was Anderes kaufe, würde ich das System viel wahrscheinlich mit weiteren Lautsprechern erweitern.
The Hyperboom sounds just as clear as the JBL boombox 2 when adjusting the mid and Highs in the equalizer.

I can easily add more Bass to the JBL using my PowerAmp app. It has a 10 band EQ. Flossy, I appreciate your honesty in saying a RUclips video isn't going to do it justice. That's way cool.

the JBL sounds a lil tinny. id go with the hyper boom and couldn't you up the mids and treble on the hyperboom to get more of that clarity?

I've been split between the Marshall Tufton and UE Hyperboom. Wanting that Marshall classic quality experience, but then Flos had to rock 2 of these things so I'm now rocking 2 Hyperbooms and well, No FOMO with the Marshall Tufton while having these 2 bouncing my eardrums around. Sold! Left speaker SonicBoom and brother Hadoken are going hard, and ready to go anywhere.

@myfukinarmhurts One is good and plenty, but if you ever want to fill a larger space / multiple rooms you will be ready to go.

I know that JBL was on the Flossy Carter setting aka MAXED OUT!! But did you leave the Hyperboom on the stock settings? And then right after I typed this you say yes the Hyperboom is on stock settings... So put Hyperboom on MAXED OUT lol We need it on that Flossy Carter setting ASAP!!! lol :D

In my Opinion JBL is Boss...@ times you don't need all that base...JBl has nice highs and mids and clean tones the JBL base is not bad @ all..

I think in a larger room the JBL will win. I went into the St Louis Cardinals store at the stadium and music was playing from one of those JBL speakers. it filled the whole store with sound. Good video.

If I didn't already have the JBL boombox I would definitely look into getting this speaker. The bass is clean.
I compared both speakers at Best Buy, the EU Hyperboom speaker is the best by far. His video did no justice on sound quality.
I bought a hypeboom and yes they have excellent bass. But for me after having it for 3 days I was dissapointed with its lack of high frequency. For me it sounded too muddy. IMO iT needs tweeters to balance out the sound Even with the EQ I t just sounded muddy. But that was my experience, I am sure there are many people out there who have a different opinion. I bought mine on the internet and it does have good reviews. Quality and build were very good. I sent mine back got refunded and I think maybe I will get a diamond box speaker. Love your reviews, man! Please help me sort out couple of these confusions. So, I'm pretty much into debate, amongst these speakers, Boombox 2 and Hyperboom. Definitely I'm looking for a clear, crispy and most natural sound but then the bass at lower frequencies shouldn't be compensated. Which one do you think can deliver better my needs? let's not bring their prices to the decision! Secondly, it seems here in India, the Hyperboom has gone out of stock, and can't expect it to arrive back, im anytime within 3 months. So, if I go with Boombox 2(owing to its availability better ) , does that seemscompensating with the sound quality in any manner? Or should I be biased enough to hold on, until the thing arrives back? Third, does the Boombox 2 really does drop the vocals and that sound signature, around higher volumes, say 80 percent? And lastly, if I were to listen, around 50 percent volume, which one would you suggest to vibe out? Do, you think if I won't make it to Hyperboom, there'd be lot regret about?

I've always been a UE fan since their first speaker but didn't really get any of their recent ones at all. Why? Because I wanted more bass. Then came all those JBL and HK speakers with a lot more bass. I'm definitely gonna pick this up but waiting for a sale though. I miss features like remote power on and battery life voice. Sony speakers are nice too tho.
