    The thing I still don't understand is: after registering a card in Google Wallet, can I use my phone to pay anywhere a contactless terminal is available, or do I need to see if the terminal they have supports Google Pay? To rephrase my question, which icon should I look for - my credit card's circuit logo (VISA, Mastercard, etc.) or the Google Pay logo?

      Once you have your credit card registered with Google Wallet you are good to go at any terminal. Remember Google wallet just provides the authentication for your credit card.

    My concern with Google wallet is safety and security. There is no second layer of protection when using it for mobile payment. if someone gets a hold of your phone unlocked, they can easily tap and purchase anything! Unlike Samsung pay or Apple pay where they ask for password, fingerprint, or face ID

    • @TechforSenior
      @TechforSenior  Год назад +16

      Thanks for watching the video and commenting. There is no difference between Apple, Google or Samsung Pay. They work exactly the same. The security required to unlock the device is device specific rather than software. All 3 will require security to be set up on your phone or watch before installing. Your options could include fingerprint, facial ID or PIN. All 3 apps will NOT work if the appropriate security is not enabled on your phone. This is also true for watches but can vary depending on brand.

    • @alexandrosdjkevingr
      @alexandrosdjkevingr Год назад +2

      I have the same concern and your answer sir is tremendously diplomatic 😅
      You dont have to say how a phone works in general. We know that. The problem here is my phone is unlocked for whatever reason (someone watching a utube video through me) he could easily purchase whatever he wants without asking password or fingerprint.
      I was actually looking all over the network if theres a possibility for that and came across ur videos!!
      Thanx anyway ✌️

    • @TechforSenior
      @TechforSenior  Год назад +2

      @@alexandrosdjkevingr The issue of security is obviously one that Apple and Google are concerned about. I have installed Google Wallet/Pay on a number of phones and the APP WILL NOT install unless adequate security features are enabled. This varies/phone and suspect Google as set security rules. You make be required to enter a PIN before each transaction but not on my Pixel 6.

      Hey there! To send your USDT to Binance from your SafePal wallet, you'll need to:
      Open SafePal and access your wallet using your seed phrase (keep it super secret!).
      Find your USDT balance.
      Start a withdrawal in SafePal.
      Get your Binance USDT deposit address from your Binance account.
      Carefully paste that Binance address into SafePal.
      Double-check that address!!!
      Enter the amount of USDT you want to send.
      Confirm everything looks good.
      Wait for the transaction to go through - you can usually track it in SafePal or on a blockchain explorer.

    Google is also confused. Gpay is only available in the US, Singapore and India now (2024). When I shifted to Aus, I couldn't use it. I had to shift to Google Wallet but couldn't download the app as my Google account wouldn't believe I was in Aus even though my profile said so. How do you use the funds from my 2 gift cards stored in google wallet online?

    • @TechforSenior
      @TechforSenior  2 месяца назад

      When making a purchase at a retailer that accepts Google Wallet, inform the cashier that you have a gift card stored in Google Wallet.
      Open the Google Wallet app and select the gift card you want to use.
      Show the barcode or QR code of the gift card to the cashier for scanning.
      If the total amount exceeds the balance of one gift card, you can ask the cashier to use multiple gift cards.
      The cashier can apply the first gift card, and then you can repeat the process with the second gift card.
      Online Purchases:
      For online purchases, go to the retailer's checkout page.
      Enter the gift card details stored in Google Wallet manually (card number and PIN) if the website does not directly support Google Wallet integration.
      Combine Balances (if allowed):
      Some retailers may allow you to combine the balances of multiple gift cards into one card. Check with the retailer's customer service to see if this option is available.

    Hi, I installed Google Pay and put 1 credit card's info in it. I tried it once at a store which accepts Google Pay, but it didn't work. I don't have unlimited data, so I usually have Mobile Network turned off, so maybe that was it? Does the phone have to have internet connection to use Google Pay at a store? Also, another video posted by Google said to turn on NFC in Connection Preferences, but my Android 10 did not have that listed as a setting possibility. What to do? Thanks :)

    • @TechforSenior
      @TechforSenior  Год назад

      Google Wallet is an APP on your phone that creates a unique transaction code for your credit card payment. It doesn't need an internet connection. It communicates with NFC to the credit card terminal and usually will not install if you don't have NFC on your phone. Assuming you have NFC I would delete the APP and try again. If you don't have NFC Google Wallet will not work.

      @@TechforSenior Thank you. There is "Nearby Share" as a setting under Connection Preferences, but it appears to be sharing with other near devices via Bluetooth. Could that possibly be NFC? If not, I don't know why NFC wouldn't be on Android 10. I don't understand. That video I mentioned was from last year, so it's not outdated. Are you saying that it's possible that my phone has NFC enabled without it being listed as an option?

    • @scottsent8120
      @scottsent8120 Год назад

      @@TechforSenior Hmmm. In thinking more on this, I'm wondering if NFC capability is something some phones don't have. I was thinking that it's merely software, but now I'm thinking it's a physical transmitter/receiver in the phone. I've watched multiple videos about using Google Pay, and no one has commented on this being an issue, so when I first saw NFC being referred to, I thought it was standard in all modern phones. I'm looking at my phone's manual for it, but it's not easy to find, and they may not even mention it. It's a Moto E that I bought 2 years ago, so I thought it would have everything needed.

It would have been nice if that were mentioned from the start of any video on using Google Pay in stores.

      The Google Wallet app has limits for how many gift cards you can add. Within 30 days, you can add up to 10 cards total and 5 cards per merchant. If you have multiple gift cards for a single merchant, you can ask the merchant to combine your gift cards into one card.

      That is easy. The sale of the stocks could be deposited into a bank account. You could use a debit card to access the money or a credit card that could be funded from that bank account.

      @@blackshadow3741 Thanks for watching my video and taking time to comment. The security is on your phone and depends on how your manufacturer sets it up. It could be a PW, Biometric Scan, finger print.. etc. The watches require a PIN. The vendor only gets a transaction code so no credit card number or PIN is scanned into the reader, Much more secure.

      Google Wallet has your existing credit cards. If the merchant refunds then the money would go from the Vendor directly to your credit card as it does now. Remember the only function of Google Wallet is to provide security to your credit card transaction by using a " Transaction Code " that doesn't give any personal information.
