12:50 my Duuuuuuude Youre Not Lying! I even tried fixing the latency but it still feels off. I even feel like theres a delay between my Speakers and Cue buttons … any suggestons to resolve this will help!
This thang goes crazy I got the white edition and having a blast 💥 it’s about a 9.5 over all a mild filter/fx is where it’s lacking But u can’t go wrong for the price overall a solid build period/ good vid thanks for your review 💯✌️
FINALLY !!! Someone mentions Booth out volume and how it can be done. I mix with a monitor and I could not find any of these small controllers that have a way to set it up so that you can use a monitor. This is the only one with 2 master outputs. I bought today from Amazon a Mackie Big Knob Series, Passive 2x2 Studio Monitor Controller (BIG KNOB PASSIVE).. I have a small gig in a bar which I am not going to bring my 1000SRT. Too heavy for 3 hours of work.
I had my 500. I find that the jog wheels are super stiff you can barely do a quarter backspin. I’m interested to find out if that’s the same with the other owners like me.
Hi Kareem, great detailed review! I picked up on your mention of the cut in distance @ 5:00 or thereabouts. I haven't seen this mentioned in any other reviews (even by DJ's who like to scratch, like Carlo Atendido) so I wondered if you could remember (I know it's a long time now!!) whether or not you used the dedicated ASIO drivers and adjusted the buffering or just used Windows plug & play? I'm trying to work out which controller to go for and a similar thing has made me discount the 2 new Numark Mixtrack controllers. In Rekordbox I know you're able to adjust the cut-in distance (as I've seen on both Carlo Atendido and Pri yon Joni's reviews of the DDJ-400) which is great, and I know you're a fan of the 400 already - I'm just not sure whether I want to commit to being 100% Rekordbox especially when Pioneer could alter the available features. At least with the Inpulse 500 you get a choice to go with Serato Pro. Thanks again for all you do :)
Sorry for the late response... The controller itself seems to have the hardware limitation because it is a beginner product. Some other beginner products have better scratching ability in a smaller form factor such as the Mixtrack or the DDJ-SB3 or the DDJ-400. Great scratch DJ's can overlook and still sound great on gear with flaws, but for it will be much more difficult for a beginner to compensate for the shortcomings. If you want to scratch, then its best to spend a little more money than this and step up to the next level if possible or look at another cheap controller that is better at scratching.
Hello my friend thanks for this exellent video. could you help me please . When i connect my cell phone to aux to listen to music the sound does not come out What you thing it could be? thank you so much.
Both are great for beginners but I like the DDJ-400 the best honestly because its full of features. The Mixtrack is more proven, but the Impulse 500 has the bigger size. They are all great.
@@kareem_the_dream Thanx, i realy like the displays on Mixtrack and the full size Speed knobs . The only bad i think is maybe to less outputs . like the the Inpulse 500 have
It could be a number of things... you need to make sure you have the correct soundcard selected in the software settings which should be this device. Then you need to check to make sure you have all of your cue buttons on and the cue volume knob up. If all else fails, you will need to reinstall the software and the drivers and try again.
Thanks for today's lesson I have learnt a lot from you. From the unboxing till now.I want to get this controller,Am from uganda 🇺🇬 Africa 🌍. Thanks alot.
get this one, the ddj is made of plastic and its butten, the wheels and the pad are one tier below the herkules. If you want the same built quality like the herkules but from a different company like pioneer or numark etc then you have to spend at least 700 bucks. The herk is the best value you can get in the dj controller entry level.
Thanks for the review! It has few things I wished the DDJ 400 had like the aux, full kill eq, metal posts, the feet, and a few others. Easy to dent to jogwheels on the 400 😩.
Thank you! The crossfader is not easily replaceable and will probably void your warranty when you open it up. Having said that, you can still replace it if you need to.
There's no metal structure across this mixer other than the screws and underneath the controller knobs and control ports..... Commercial plastic is what you get. However, for the price, I guess that works!
With Djuced you don't need to upgrade anything to use all the features, and it's lighter than Serato.

It's just the hardware limitation... Usually this is the case with $400 or less style controllers. You can get it close, but won't ever be perfect.
@@kareem_the_dream understood, thank you 🙏🏾. I returned the model in Exchange for the Pioneer DDJFLX4. I really appreciate this review brova
@@RandomProduction89 You're welcome! Anytime!
That's odd.... I have been using it for 3 years butbi have never experienced it.... 😮
@ im happy it worked for you, Due to my time budget I had to trade it fir a DDJFLX4 by Pioneer. i tried though

If it ever quit its job, i buy another one!
Much love to Hercules!

I just ordered one yesterday, never been DJ'ing ever, so let's see.
Dosent Djuiced allow you to use all of the buttons without having to purchase serato pro?
Also would it be at all possible to sod the cross fader to bump it up just a little bit to give that perfect scratch sound?
Yes, it does.
I had my 500. I find that the jog wheels are super stiff you can barely do a quarter backspin. I’m interested to find out if that’s the same with the other owners like me.
Just use djuiced and you have all the features 👍🏻

after i got the pioneer flx4 , hercules 500 is miles away better i made the right choice hercules 500 for the win
Why would you recommend upgrading to serato pro when Djuiced is FREE?
Because Serato DJ Pro is the better software overall.
Super review as usual
Hi there, good reviews. What would you prefer for a beginner at home use. Impulse 500 or the Numark mixtrack platinum FX?
Both are great for beginners but I like the DDJ-400 the best honestly because its full of features. The Mixtrack is more proven, but the Impulse 500 has the bigger size. They are all great.

Hi brother Kareem i just got my HERCULES 500 dj controller to begin what is good dj software to start? Thank you
Start with Serato!
@@kareem_the_dream I'm from louisville ky and looking for to go dj classes
does it come with free djuice software?
Yes it does!
Cool....is the the only controller with the beat match guide arrow lights ?
Other Herculese controllers do it and some other controllers do it as well, but I can't think of them all at the moment....
on a previous critique on another video it was said that the volume output is not that loud... can you confirm or dispel this comment
I did not use this in a performance environment due to Covid so I am not so sure.
You didn't talk about Dejuced ????
Nope, I don't recommend it or use it over Serato so that's what I stayed with for the review.
Thanks for today's lesson I have learnt a lot from you.

@@RealDJblaze For sure I like to get this HERCULES,AM in need of it.
Wich one got the sharpest crossfader?
In this price category. ????
Thanks for helping
I review so many, so its hard to remember sometimes. Go check my reviews though as I say it while I am reviewing them...
@@RealDJblaze ok thank you .
What's the name of that song bro
Only hardware. Would you prefer it over the ddj400. I already have serato pro
The DDJ-400 because the jog wheels and crossfader feel better and have sharper response time.
Would u recommend the Hercules 500 or ddj sb3 or pioneer 400?? Buying as gift
Hello. Would you recommend the Hercules 500 OR the ddj SB3 OR the pioneer 400? Please help 😎🤓
The DDJ-400 is still the best for the money. The software is fully unlocked in Rekordbox DJ.
The Hércules. With Djuced you have ALL the features, and the hardware is simply better than anything else. I own the Inpulse 500 and DDJ 400.
impulse 500(if it came with serato pro) or ddj 400 for beginner?
DDJ-400... It has way too many features to ignore...
As a beginner, should i buy this with free serato pro, or the ddj400?

Why mine isn't getting recognized by serato dj pro? It's works well djuiced
Serato version is not out yet, the official release of the 500 is the 3rd July (but maybe today)

NO....MC4000 is better.
