Goodell is a coward and continues to destroy the NFL. I'm not even interested in it anymore with all the rules and regulations. A 17 game season is ridiculous let alone an 18 game season. We don't need that many games.

Watch the 1970s, 1980s, even the 1990s NFL and you will realize how bad the current NFL product has become.

Why not just play like 26 games with rules closer to flag football than what we grew up with. Each team can play each other at least 1time and each division plays 2 times. With what I have heard it seems to be only a matter of time till it happens

if going 18 games, they should definitely go with a second bye week, that way if they havent totally destroyed the league with their other garbage rule changes they can add a mid season special week like how the thanksgiving and christmas games are traditional match ups

Greed. 16 games were just fine. They could have cut the preseason to 3 games to evaluate talent and then give every team have two bye weeks.
I got into a nasty wreck on way to work, day after that Patriots/Eagles Super Bowl. Didn't get enough rest that's for sure.
They have been making it start a little earlier or not making it go on for so long usually done by like 1030/11 now.

Yes players can get hurt in the preseason but how many player sit out the preseason and then come back going full speed and then get injured? The coaches could manage the preseason games better so the backups get playing time
I'd be okay with increasing the regular season (thus giving teams more opportunity to secure a playoff berth) if it came with a reduction to the pool of playoff teams back to when it was 4 division winners and 2 wildcards per conference, with the top 2 getting first round byes. They could schedule the games so that for the final week of the regular season, teams only played within their conference or division, which should result in a few games that are effectively playoff games.

They could make the season a week longer if they just added another bye week. Two bye weeks would make much more sense. Plus you could set it up so if you have a Thursday game coming up that you would have a bye the week before. Which I think would improve the Thursday games play. So you would have a bye week plus four days a game then an extra 3 days in between your next game as well.
At this rate, the NFL playoffs will be March Madness.

The Pro Bowl isn’t what it used to be, it’s basically flag football, I get players safety is 100% good, but the game is soft, just like the NBA All Star game. And don’t get me started with Taylor Swift, I’m not hating on her, but let’s be real, the NFL and Roger Goddell are kissing up to her just to get ratings like that’s gonna work, it’s a stunt the NFL is doing cause of the Ray Rice scandal and they try to get female fans to watch the product, that’s my opinion.
