Born in Liverpool, now live in Glasgow....... get down to watch the mighty reds every now and then! love the city and people, warm and friendly with a great sense of humour ...... best city in the world.
I miss Liverppol so much. Had 6 amazing years at Uni there. Been in London, 10 years, now New Zealand. Its cool here too - but some of me will always live in Liverpool. What a beautiful, exciting, romantic, creative city. Miss you Liverpool.
I'm not a Scouser but I knocked about there in the mid/late 80s with a lovely "Judy", the great love of my life. It didn't work out. Happy memories. Liverpool has a soft place in my heart
No way was it anywhere near town ? My lovely Judy days ? As there was only one Judy I knew & know and that was my mum 😂 I hope it was and you made fond memories that would be cool bumping into you on a comment ( what years & places and I will try and update you but if it’s not you -apologies sorry ♥️💯)
Went to Liverpool last month for the first time ever. Awesome city and lovely people. Great street music and great restaurants and cafes. I was sad to leave. P.S. saw The Hummingbirds busking in Liverpool One - Awesome group (real talent).
As a Glaswegian I have spent many a great night in the wonderful City of Liverpool, in my capacity of coach driver, I have been made more than welcome in many parts of the City, and indeed have met many a Liverpudlian in Glasgow who loves my home town as much as I love theirs.
God Bless Hughie Jones. What a real star! I'm not from Liverpool, but get called a scouser wherever I go due to the Birkenhead accent I can't lose. Still one of the friendliest cities anywhere. Not many places these days where you can say "Hi!" to a stranger and not get funny looks. What a shame.
FACTS !, I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO MANCHESTER BUT A COUSIN OF MINE HAS AND SHE SAID IT WAS AN UGLY DARK BORING SHITTY CITY,AS WELL AS THEIR SHIT FOOTBALL CLUBS (AND TEAMS)😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I am here because I just watched an interview with my favorite author Brian Jacques. He mentioned how he used to be a folk singer and that this song is really popular in Britain and I had to check it out. Brian was right, this song is really nice. Does anyone know who is singing this version?
@lu4y4pants happy days, an american scouser? liverpool had big links with the usa through the cotton industry & local lads(guys to you) going away to sea, they brought back some of the early rock n roll & blues records home with them, you could say liverpool was the first city in the uk to hear the latest sounds from america in the 50's, i know buddy holly was a big influence on lennon & mccartney.
Nice images, good song, good singing from the Spinners. Pity about so many so-called scousers putting in so many stupid and foul comments. We've got enough problems here without you lot making things worse for the rest of us.
BEEN THERE 2 WEEKS AGO , I MUST COME BACK SOON TO LIVERPOOL LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THE CITY : CULTURAL SUBJECTS, NIGHTLIFE , OBVIOUSLY SCOUSERS ARE NUMBER 1 SO FRIENDLY ,SO HELPFUL ...SO BEAUTIFUL ...SCOUSE GIRLS ( WITH THEIR ACCENT )💖💥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@scouserla1 Sweet! I want to go there now! It seems like such a beautiful city. I actually taped myself playing Liverpool Lullaby on my saxophone. I guess you could say I'm a foreign Liverpool supporter. *laughs*
@lu4y4pants its the most friendly city you'll ever visit, the liverpool humour is famous throughout the uk. theres a big irish influence here too, especially in the accent, everyone recognises the "scouse accent" its much thicker & stronger than the beatles one.
I have never read such discusting comments anywhere in my life as i have here. It spoils it all for those of us that enjoy hearing the old tunes that are now being added to youtube, for us all to hear. Im proud to listen to all the old songs, as i grew up watching and listening to the spinners. Would have all their albums on vynil, if i hadn't lost them in a fire :(.
Lets be honest Liverpool is only matched by London in terms of greatness as soon as you leave Speke its a different world welcome to the indpedent scouse republic.
proud to be 100% scouse... i love my city could never live anywhere else... just a pity the media love to tarnish us with the shit brush whenever they can.. nice one Marcus for sending me here
@oneterry I've spent over three years living and working in Liverpool. Even though I'm back home now I miss the Scouseville very much plus I still av me scouse accent like :). You're right fellar, scouse is in the heart not where you live. That's why for some reason I still call meself a plasie scouser :)
hi...mick groves taught at my school and i remember him playing is guitar and practicing with the other members of the spinners in theold gregson wells pub...i have posted some new liverpool folk songs i have wrote...i hope you like them..tony flanagan
53 seconds... that view no longer exists saince three disgusting modern monstrosities have been constructed adjacent to the three graces. STOP MODERNIZING LIVERPOOL!
This is a great version by The Spinners, (Liverpool, not Detroit!) i am amazed that they are not given credit for the song on this site. The harmonica is by Cliff Hall who was born in Cuba, the vocals and music provided by Mick Groves from Salford, Tony Davis from Blackburn and Hughie Jones from Liverpool, although witha name like that, guess the origins, so why all the vitriol on this page? Don't give in to tribalism and bigotry. Please.
@Mr123bohemian Liverpool is a fantastic place! Born and raised in Liverpool! It has life and Scousers look after each other! There is nothing wrong with Liverpool, if thats how u talk about us, we will be that way with u, But get real, everyone would be. If you went round saying how horrible of a place their home is, and how horrible they are, they're bound to turn round and actually do something! Thats scousers for ya, they stick up for themselves, just cause you can't. Don't insult us!!!!!!
I lived in Liverpool for 14 years. People are generally friendly, hilarious and nice. The buildings and parks are great and the nightlife is about the finest in the UK. But compared to Shenzhen!? That place is only 30 years old and it's like New York!!! I'm moving there in one week and suddenly big old Liverpool suddenly seems like a quaint little town - which it is in the grand scheme of things.
@SLAPFACE247 yea there are bigger cities with more things going on and maybe bigger attractions but youve hit the nail on the head... this city feels like no other (i've personally visited) and we are a community! Except some scousers are just bad thieves. Fact!
sorry pal just football song meant the team not the city Liverpool great place the ascent home of the Beatles it's a great tune aswell. sorry if i offended anyone just a stupid football song.
TO ME YOU ARE SCOUSE...BUT YOU ARE ENGLISH TOO ,NEVER FORGET LIVERPOOL IS AN ENGLISH CITY TOO (...IN ENGLAND), I AM FROM LONDON AND I CONSIDER ALL ENGLISH CITIES IN ENGLAND THE SAME 🙏🙏🙏👍💖🇬🇧🇬🇬
Born in Liverpool, now live in Glasgow....... get down to watch the mighty reds every now and then! love the city and people, warm and friendly with a great sense of humour ...... best city in the world.

in me Liverpool home indeed - what a great great city. some of the warmest people in the world. Love the gaff I do.
It is a pity, that Liverpool Football Club, don't have their own song. Chelsea Have three. Liverpool's song is taken from the Musical Carousel.
