He's gone beyond now though - he just seems like a megalomaniac. He gets incredibly defensive when people ask legitimate questions, but then is happy to be deliberately provocative. If he got results then maybe it would be easier to live with his attitude, but he doesn't get results. He was part of what has completely squandered the potential of England's talent pool (not holding him entirely responsible for this, but he was part of that). If he had courage of his convictions, he wouldn't get so defensive. Instead he gets into these confrontational exchanges with journalists literally as the squad he is leading is getting on a plane to the World Cup. If I was a player in his squad I wouldn't respect that at all.

EJ is now a liability. His brand of rugby and his management style are toxic. 4 matches in charge, 4 losses, soon to be 5 vs France. His attack coach has just quit after what, 4 months? EJ is abrasive, and for the players, confidence-sapping. God help Australian rugby.

    • @dezmundo1251

@@shaunelsdon7963 I think desperation maybe. It reminds me a bit of how top local council Execs just shuffle around different local authorities, regardless of how incompetent they are. There’s only a certain number of candidates who would be able to slot in, understand the hierarchy, logistics and stakeholders involved and just hit the ground running enough to get the team to the pitch at least. Eddie does have an overall good record as a international head/elite coach, but he’s clearly lost his touch and doesn’t seem to be able to build a team of other coaches around him who buy into his vision or his way of doing things.

He has lost it. But the Wallabies can make the semi finals without being any better than they were in Dunedin.

Yes. I think he’s banking on this and then his brass neck to ride it out. Australia will get better for sure under him - they could even give the Lions a good go but then there’ll be the usual 2 year cycle drop off and he won’t last until the 27 World Cup imo.

Their problem is depth. Lose someone in a key position like fly half and they’re really in trouble

Goddamn, aussie journalism is embarrassing. Eddie definitely has a point about media negativity.

The journalist digging for drama is disgraceful. The horse has bolted let’s back Eddie and support the team.

Pomme here. I miss Eddie. And, our team has had a poor 6 nations and not very promising warm up matches to date. But I am not aware that our Manager has had this kind of press response. I think coz our hopes really are not high this time around.

The journalists are a joke - Eddie is right, all the questions are negative. Not one question was about the young bolters in the squad, if the team was confident, what their approach to training was, what did they get out of their camp up north etc etc
Everything was all about questioning Eddies choices in the squad a week after it was announced.
Eddie you got my support and go wallabies!

Love or hate him, Eddie is a character... I hope his antics take a lot of pressure off his young lads!!! I know he will take the Wallabies deep, expecting nothing less than a semi for him based on the draw of the RWC!!🤔
