Yeah... One thing I like about Russians is their bluntness and directness in conversations. They don't like to sugar-coat things. They just say it as it is.
In Russia, people are simple and when they see exotic, they definitely want to show it to someone, believe me, without second thoughts. It's not America or even Western Europe. People here are very sincere. Most of them are just shy to approach you, not to mention talk, but there are people who are very direct, they can tell you what a beautiful black woman is and it will be sincere. Here people don't know your conventions and forbidden words. Get used to it, there is a different mentality here.
As a Russian living in Africa and dating an African woman, I can say that I sometimes encounter similar situations here. Both girls and men can get acquainted with me. Most of the time, I just politely end the conversation if I'm not in the mood to talk. Not many women met me and they were not as persistent as Russian men in relation to you, but I think that this is also because I answer politely, but practically do not smile and immediately increase the distance. It helps :) Actually my love advice me to be like that

@@danarzechula3769 the smiling thing is a cultural thing. Smiling in some countries indicates some type of openness to communicate. It’s not bad or good but just is. This is the case in the country I live in. When people smile at me now that I’ve acclimated, I wonder what they want - I don’t smile back unless they’re very clearly a tourist (we can tell in my location). Not smiling/indicating openness to communicate and someone still tries to is quite poor manners and pushy and not ok - especially in a professional setting.

My backwater town has (had ?) a constant supply of blacks from various African countries they live here in a small number. My guess is they didn't encounter much problems since it was new people each time on a regular basis.
If you visit major cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan... then it is unlikely that you will encounter similar problems, especially as a tourist, and not an idle expat sleeping areas of the city. Most tourists in various overview videos in the comments, reviews under it on the Internet call Russia one of the safest places.

You have a happy confidence, a bubbly character that in a way Russian people love. It maybe is a contrast-So it is the LA in you...which is just great...and you brought that to Russia...a great gift and everyone will love that. Being black is the immediate stand out...but it is a lot more than that. It's nice...but as we know life is not always easy for women-they have to deal with things that men never really think about...even walking down the street at the best of times. Similar thing happened to me in Germany. In Europe black women are exotic, even some parts of the US. They may have the same line "o your so pretty, I've never seen anyone like you before" because they're serious, they mostlikly never seen anyone like you in person, but only online or tv.
I’m a black Mexican so I’ve had some interesting experiences in Mexico. However, nothing creepy . Just curiosity from both men and women. For example people love to touch my hair. It used to bother me when I was little, but now I don’t really care. There was one incident when 2 guys in my city square were selling some sort of phone Plan. They came up to me and asked if I wanted to sign up. I declined, but they were staring at me super surprised and wide eyed haha 😂 because I looked different. The only thing that ever fazes or annoys me is “sneaky racism” Mexicans are not direct people, so the few that are racist will be sneaky about it which is almost worse that if they said what was on their mind 🤨. Like the director of a summer camp I went to for 2 weeks who kept “forgetting” I’m Mexican and making insinuating comments any chance she got.🙏

I have had the most weird encounters with Russians and till this day I haven’t healed from some…Now that we get to wear masks it’s a little bit better because not all my face is exposed and it’s winter..But the taxi drivers never stop talking and calling people on their phones to show that they have a black client on board 😩

My daughter taught English in Japan for 18 months. She told me she was walking to a restaurant and passed by a bar that was on the way. She told me that three drunk Japanese men came out of the bar, looked her way and said (in the best English they could manage to speak) “we like your jeans.” 🙄. I told her she inherited her mommy’s trunk space and they were really saying they like what is IN those jeans.
You should be much more direct and even rude refusing Russian men. Actually it works for anything else in Russian culture particularly comparing to American one: be more direct expressing yourself, don't smile, don't try to be polite and nice, express your displease, irritation or anger openly but don't show your fear

I can confirm, Russian guys can be persistant. Either they want a wife, and the dumb ones will equate politeness with indecisiveness because they're used to only hearing "yes" or "fuck off". Or they have low supply of female energy. My grandma once had to entertain a whole group of sailors on a train (not like that), and she was with her daughter. Another time when she visited our village, she was older, but a drunk guy at the bus stop nagged her until she had a shot of vodka and snacks with him.

I called them "PUM PUM" doctor. My American doctor called me beautiful bon my first visit. He came very close to me the entire visit. Up between my legs to just listen to my heart. I was so uncomfortable. During covid my new doctor zoom me, and saw me for the first time. He exclaimed, "you're absolutely beautiful"! I told him I was married, he told me to tell my husband that he is very lucky.

И в России нет условной дистанции между людьми, как индивидуальное пространство, люди намного проще, и не воспринимают какое либо обращение или интерес к себе как вторжение в свой мир. I'm a 40 year old Russian white man and even I have met several male older doctors during the last decade who flirted with me or said some other weird stuff complimenting my physique etc, like "You're such a stallion". Some were funny moments and some were creepy. Once I've had to go to the manager and write an application for a change of doctor, because first one even gave me his mobile number in the end of the visit and said "Call me whenever you want". Haven't experienced anything like that from female doctors or younger males ever, women are either caring and professional or just look bored to death with their job, I always try to avoid the second type btw. Funny video tho, thanks for sharing! Can't even imagine being a girl, I'd be so pissed with all this attention, I hate it when shallow people get attracted specifically to my body or face. But in a foreign county all this feels quite different, depending on a country. In Tunisia for example men were going nuts about my girl, if I was around they spoke to me like "Wow, you're a lucky man!" and stuff like that and it happened countless times, as if they've never seen a woman before. In Thailand people didn't really care about our gender, especially kids and taxi drivers were curious about us, the only problem was they couldn't speak any english hahah, so I've had to learn some Thai to communicate. In Greece it was also different, because only local Russians tried to talk and get to know us or even share their stories. And yeah, I know well that white people get crazy amount of attention in Africa, especially in remote places :)

Not all doctors are like American doctors. I went to one doctor in Guatemala and the male nurse was hitting on the female patients he was talking about their curves and telling them how beautiful they were not me because I don't have any curves by the way he told me to put on weight to become beautiful. I'm from Guatemala but had lived in the USA for 17 years so I wasn't used to this kind of doctors/nurses.

"Ty" (singular form, used to call close friends, family and kids) and "Vy" (matches with a plural form, used to call strangers and also to confirm respect). 3. Greeting "Zdravstvooy" (singular form) is used for people who would be called "Ty" (close friends, family and kids). And "ZdravstvooyTE" (plural form) - for the people who would be called "Vy" (multiple people, strangers, elderly and respected people).
Don't go to Italy because they will fall over backwards, or break their neck just to talk to you (whenever if you don'y speak Italian and they do not speak English). Let's face it, some people are just taken back when they see those with darker skin, but not everyone gets that reaction. По факту, говоря комплименты женщине в присутствии мужа, врач не только старался перебить её отрицательные эмоции от случившегося, но косвенно это было одобрение и похвала в адрес мужа. В России это допустимо, поскольку у врача более высокий ранг по отношению к пациенту (и его близким), хотя, конечно, он не должен выходить за "рамки" которые в России заметно шире, нежели в US.
In fact, when complimenting a woman in the presence of her husband, the doctor not only tried to interrupt her negative emotions from what had happened, but indirectly it was approval and praise for her husband. In Russia, this is acceptable, since the doctor has a higher rank in relation to the patient (and his relatives), although, of course, he should not go beyond the "boundaries" which in Russia are noticeably wider than in the US.
I was under the impression that black people are maybe not common in Russia but not rare either. I guess I learned something. BTW I think it is your eyes getting all that attention. Very beautiful eyes.
The only place she wouldn't be seen as exotic is around the men in her race because here in the US, I've heard different races of men call black women exotic looking, especially when they wear their natural hair out, but in Europe, she definitely would be seen as exotic because the majority of people their have white skin.

My backwater town has (had ?) a constant supply of blacks from various African countries they live here in a small number. My guess is they didn't encounter much problems since it was new people each time on a regular basis.
If you visit major cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan... then it is unlikely that you will encounter similar problems, especially as a tourist, and not an idle expat sleeping areas of the city. Most tourists in various overview videos in the comments, reviews under it on the Internet call Russia one of the safest places.

You have a happy confidence, a bubbly character that in a way Russian people love. It maybe is a contrast-So it is the LA in you...which is just great...and you brought that to Russia...a great gift and everyone will love that. Being black is the immediate stand out...but it is a lot more than that. It's nice...but as we know life is not always easy for women-they have to deal with things that men never really think about...even walking down the street at the best of times. A fascinating experience beautifully told...and useful for everyone, especially men to realize where to draw the line.

I love the stories! I've had alot of similar encounters. I've learned that you have to be direct and stick to your guns, Russians are very straight forward and men get super confused when you continue to talk to them but say that you're not interested 🤣
Similar thing happened to me in Germany. In Europe black women are exotic, even some parts of the US. They may have the same line "o your so pretty, I've never seen anyone like you before" because they're serious, they mostlikly never seen anyone like you in person, but only online or tv.

I’m a black Mexican so I’ve had some interesting experiences in Mexico. However, nothing creepy . Just curiosity from both men and women. For example people love to touch my hair. It used to bother me when I was little, but now I don’t really care. There was one incident when 2 guys in my city square were selling some sort of phone Plan. They came up to me and asked if I wanted to sign up. I declined, but they were staring at me super surprised and wide eyed haha 😂 because I looked different. The only thing that ever fazes or annoys me is “sneaky racism” Mexicans are not direct people, so the few that are racist will be sneaky about it which is almost worse that if they said what was on their mind 🤨. Like the director of a summer camp I went to for 2 weeks who kept “forgetting” I’m Mexican and making insinuating comments any chance she got.🙏

I have had the most weird encounters with Russians and till this day I haven’t healed from some…Now that we get to wear masks it’s a little bit better because not all my face is exposed and it’s winter..But the taxi drivers never stop talking and calling people on their phones to show that they have a black client on board 😩

Actually it works for anything else in Russian culture particularly comparing to American one: be more direct expressing yourself, don't smile, don't try to be polite and nice, express your displease, irritation or anger openly but don't show your fear

I can confirm, Russian guys can be persistant. Either they want a wife, and the dumb ones will equate politeness with indecisiveness because they're used to only hearing "yes" or "fuck off". Or they have low supply of female energy. My grandma once had to entertain a whole group of sailors on a train (not like that), and she was with her daughter. Another time when she visited our village, she was older, but a drunk guy at the bus stop nagged her until she had a shot of vodka and snacks with him.

I called them "PUM PUM" doctor. My American doctor called me beautiful bon my first visit. He came very close to me the entire visit. Up between my legs to just listen to my heart. I was so uncomfortable. During covid my new doctor zoom me, and saw me for the first time. He exclaimed, "you're absolutely beautiful"! I told him I was married, he told me to tell my husband that he is very lucky.

Поэтому у многих возникает желание познакомиться с тобой, но если тебе это знакомство нежелательно, не продолжай диалог, скажи "сори" и уходи. И в России нет условной дистанции между людьми, как индивидуальное пространство, люди намного проще, и не воспринимают какое либо обращение или интерес к себе как вторжение в свой мир. Но в то же самое время конечно же не нужно знакомиться на улице,пресекай сразу такие попытки.
Американцы они слишком много придают значения мелочам в общении. В россии люди более настойчивы в общении просто потому, что это норма. Это не значит, что вас хотят «закадрить» или втереться в доверие, это просто человеку хочется поговорить с вами, у него такая потребность.

I'm a 40 year old Russian white man and even I have met several male older doctors during the last decade who flirted with me or said some other weird stuff complimenting my physique etc, like "You're such a stallion". Some were funny moments and some were creepy. Once I've had to go to the manager and write an application for a change of doctor, because first one even gave me his mobile number in the end of the visit and said "Call me whenever you want". Haven't experienced anything like that from female doctors or younger males ever, women are either caring and professional or just look bored to death with their job, I always try to avoid the second type btw.
Funny video tho, thanks for sharing! Can't even imagine being a girl, I'd be so pissed with all this attention, I hate it when shallow people get attracted specifically to my body or face. But in a foreign county all this feels quite different, depending on a country. In Tunisia for example men were going nuts about my girl, if I was around they spoke to me like "Wow, you're a lucky man!" and stuff like that and it happened countless times, as if they've never seen a woman before. In Thailand people didn't really care about our gender, especially kids and taxi drivers were curious about us, the only problem was they couldn't speak any english hahah, so I've had to learn some Thai to communicate. In Greece it was also different, because only local Russians tried to talk and get to know us or even share their stories. And yeah, I know well that white people get crazy amount of attention in Africa, especially in remote places :)

I went to one doctor in Guatemala and the male nurse was hitting on the female patients he was talking about their curves and telling them how beautiful they were not me because I don't have any curves by the way he told me to put on weight to become beautiful. I'm from Guatemala but had lived in the USA for 17 years so I wasn't used to this kind of doctors/nurses.

2. Russian language has two forms of word "You". "Ty" (singular form, used to call close friends, family and kids) and "Vy" (matches with a plural form, used to call strangers and also to confirm respect).
3. Greeting "Zdravstvooy" (singular form) is used for people who would be called "Ty" (close friends, family and kids). And "ZdravstvooyTE" (plural form) - for the people who would be called "Vy" (multiple people, strangers, elderly and respected people).
