Considering getting this one just for the voice box, to try and swap it or if nothing else, as spare parts for my Takara. I haven't had any of the known issues yet, but there are clearly some fragile spots that make me very nervous too handle him much.
The paint for the dino bits are different and I noticed that the robot mode eyes don't light up, instead the eyes look painted, however his dino eyes light up when you press the button. Quite the difference, but I don't mind The Takara version had issues with a loose waist and hip breakage, hopefully this KO won't suffer the same issues.
The Eyes do light up in robot mode but turn off after a few seconds. I thought I had them on the entire time and noticed they went out when I was editing. Great points! Thanks
@@tydiriumhanger1320 That would be about the same as the official. Do the dino eyes move at all? The official one's eyes can, but don't light up. I'm not sure how I feel about the paint in dino mode, but David Kaye's lines from the show coming out of this thing and for a fraction of the official one's cost (and hopefully hips and crotch that won't break) make this very tempting to not only pick up, but actually bother putting batteries in.
I'm late to the party, but thankfully I was able to get this KO. And this is pretty impressive, too!! He's pulling a bit of double duty: something I wanted/planned to get anyway, but also a sort of "consolation prize" for the complete inability to find that Kingdom Leader class Megatron. (Which I'll just try again later) And I'll be keeping the smiling face on as the default for one reason: "...yesss." Now...I just need to get either MP32 or MP38 to match...yesss. (A bloody shame that neither version of MP Optimus Primal ever got KO'd. I think that they ain't start KOing the Beast Wars peeps until MP41 Dinobot) EDIT 2021Apr25: Yeah, I'm gonna need to find Kingdom BW Megs FAST...cuz I'm starting to hate this thing. It's the camera lighting. In-person, this KO is actually a bit more accurate to his show model than the official MP, in terms of color saturation. Both MP Dinobot and MP Megatron have this faded quality to their color, whereas their show models were darker and more vibrant.
I have no connection to Beast Wars, never watched the show. But this guy DOES look cool. Slightly tempted. Might be cool just to have a display with like this guy plus one of those really awesome looking Red Dragon Megatrons. I also wonder how this guy would display up against a similarly scaled Grimlock. Maybe the mp OS KO?
Good morning Mike I received my Beast Wars Megatron ko around 2 weeks ago. I was very impressed and I liked him a lot. The only issues I had with it were some tabs not staying tab together when I put him in beast mode, and I broke his right shoulder ratchet, not sure if it was cheap plastic or I did something wrong. It's staying together it didn't totally pop off but there's a crack in it in the housing around the ratchet itself that the arm connects to. All that aside it is a very impressive figure for the price.
Hey Mike, I just got mine and I was wondering if the waist on yours tabs in? Mine doesn't at all, it looks like there is a piece missing and the top half just doesn't securely connect to the bottom half at his belly. So if you pick him up the legs just kind of flop along the hinge on his back. Is this how it is meant to be? What should be holding it together?
I have not put it back in Robot mode since the review but at 13:41 and 13:58 you can see some tabs on mine that hold the waist together. Check if those are present on yours. Did you have this issue in bot mode right out of the box or notice it after transforming it back and forth?

I am wondering if the upper body can be pushed back along the waist and that would engage the clip. I am on the east coast so it will wait until tomorrow. I am just having a hard time finding any videos that show that bit clearly. Perhaps tomorrow I will shoot a short video of it and post it to youtube and you can have a look in your spare time and let me know if I am doing something wrong. Maybe it is just one of those "push harder" solutions. Thank y ou for responding, I just preordered KO 44 from ShowZ. Now that is something I am looking forward to and the price is just fantastic. They are probably anticipating a huge volume so they are marked to move. It will probably be the best selling KO of all time

Yo! If Dino mode scales relatively well with the Grimelock is KO maybe I will get this along with the all-gold Grimlock from showZ and pit them against each other. Oh, on the other hand, if he scales better with Fans toys Grimlock, imagine displaying him with the G2 blue fans toys Grimlock? How would that look? That might be sick!
I just got Original & I have no issues with mine at all None of them I Do Uh only thing is I like the colors & texture on the original one .I think If there is a w ay only thing I would swap out is the voice chips. I would get the KO just for that & take it out.
Yeah I have a ptsd with KO toys considering I grew up in Asia with those KO's all my life that's why I stay away from them. Even with the current generation high end KO with "better" build and quality than the original, the old ptsd wounds of KO's disintegrating after 1 transformation still lingers at the back of my mind lol.
Gorgeous figure! Ive wanted Takara copy so bad but I’ve been scared off by the fragility. This might be the way to go.

I am not sure if its a lighting issue or a paint issue - The skin color doesnt look so messed up on my original mp43 even under bare light

He is bigger than the standard MP grimlock but smaller than KO OS version. Not sure about FT but they may be the same size

The US voice clips definitely make this a worthwhile purchase but I.... unfortunately.... don't get Masterpiece Transformers or get KOs.
They are still fun to look at even if you do not collect the line. That is how I am with Statues and Flame toys: Like looking but not buying. Thanks
