The perfect French pronunciation tape. The IPA onscreen, your attention to detail; almost reading our minds/questions ("both the p and s in "temps" are silent" - was never sure about the "p" until watching this video). Best French teacher on RUclips.
Dear Cindi. I'm very impressed by your perfect teaching of French pronunciation. The speech sounds that you produced to be repeated one by one for all the given words were clear to my ears and in just a suitable speed to enable me to learn the subject well. This video reminded me of my time in the campus being a student of English language many years ago. At that time we had to go to the language laboratory to get a lecture like what you have presented in this video. Thank you so much for Frenchiizi Channel and your kind dedication in teaching your followers. God bless your work.
Hi Cindy, very helpful for me as a very mature 'novice' french student so thank you, just one thing I notice in the video at 9:02 you say the word "peu" but the text at the top of the screen say's "donner" and some of the letters in the text at the top right appears to be shown in reverse or upside down for some reason :-)
To clarify (it took me a minute to understand), Lelantos is saying, and Frencheezi confirms to Mala Obulesu, that the word showing at 8:59 should have been "peu". It is just a simple video compilation error. Easy to make when doing 100 of these.
Thank you, Cindy! As usual, very helpful! I was wondering if you could verify my translation of the following phrase? "Elle croyait qu'elle pouvait, alors elle l'a fait." It would really help me out!
It would be better to add 'le faire' at the end of the first half of your sentence, but other than that, it's great! "Elle croyait qu'elle pouvait le faire, alors elle l'a fait."
when you say stuff like Leur how do you make that sound because I can't do it and you seem good at French so could you maybe make a video on how you make that hu sound like Leur hu like how do u make that hu sound
You should be on the list of places to learn French on E fluent website. You outsmart two other people who are there listed with your channel. Make sure to be there.
Donner is pronounced the way I pronounced it in the video. However, at around 9 minutes, 'donner' appears on the screen when it should have read 'peu', as suggested by the IPA that also appears on the screen (the IPA is correct). My mistake, I must have use 'donner' as a template for 'peu' and forgot to change the word!
What's even more confusing though, is doesn't the pronunciation vary by region in France? You pronounce some of these differently from my DuoLingo app :P This is why I was originally a bit sceptical of your pronunciation when I first found your channel - cos I thought you were from London and was like "pff what does she know?!" - that until I found out you're actually French XD
There are different accents in France, but not half as many as there are in England. Which words do you feel I pronounce differently to DuoLingo? I'm genuinely curious as, although I'm originally from Brittany (North West of France), my accent is the same as that of most French people... so I'm a bit confused as to where you could hear differences, but I'm willing to check it out.
This is the first time I come across a pronunciation video like this! It is awesome! Just as an aside, is it possible that the word "quelque" is not pronounced as it is in the video? You don't pronounce the final "e" as if it is a silent "e" (which is the case of most french words ending with "e"). It seems to me that French people pronounce the final "e" for that word.
It depends on the word following it as well as whether the speaker is speaking informally or not. For example, the final 'e' in 'quelque chose' is usually pronounced, unless the speaker is speaking to family or friends, in which case they're very likely to drop the second 'e'.
Terrific - the secret to French pronunciation revealed! Great help this. Merci beaucoup, tres utile!. 🤩
Finally videos that focus on pronunciation. It's taken me years to find these. Many, many thanks from a desperate Australian.
This will help me in my middle school to impress my teacher
Merci Cindi. Tu es un professeur fantastique - des leçons sont très claires et faciles à suivre

The "eu" in "leur" sounds similar to the English word "a" in "a restaurant, a duck etc...". Hope this helps.
Merci!!!

"cette vidéo" as vidéo is a feminine noun 🙂
