"Will you forget about Mom? My sister? Will you forget about....me?" That line....broke me....as my grandfather is actually currently going through end stages of dementia and I remember having that same exact thought....and then also the day it came true.....the day he couldn't remember me.....
Dementia is a cruel, unrelenting thing that takes so much from a person and everyone they love. 🫂 I wish you didn’t know that from experience 🫂 I hope you are well.
I sat and visited with my grandfather, had a full discussion with him seeming to know me because he knew the other people in the room. I left thinking that I was so excited to visit while he was aware of his surroundings. My Aunt and Uncle called later, letting my parents know that my grandpa gasped and asked who I was after I hugged and kissed him goodbye. He said he had no idea who I was, but I sure was the prettiest girl he's seen. I cried so hard, I really thought he knew me, but he was just being polite. His wife, my grandmother had already passed a few years earlier. She too had dementia, but I did have a last memory of her knowing who I was. She was so bad off that she was afraid people were poisoning her food. She was so hungry she was eating flowers that people sent. So it was a miracle that she was good during our last visit. Dementia sucks and cancer sucks... I'm so sorry that you were/are going through this. Sending warmth and hugs to you.
Hey everyone I wanted to give a special thank you to Brianna Ishii-McFaull and Lucas King. Brianna did such a tremendous job with this story, and Lucas King's wonderful music really brought it to life in the way I'd hoped. I spent hours searching for the right song to do Brianna's story justice, and when I found this piece by Lucas King I knew in an instant that it was meant to be. Thank you so much to you both!! -Stephen

This was such a wonderful, touching story by Brianna Ishii-McFaull. The amazingly beautiful music by Lucas King truly was the perfect accompaniment. Additionally, your narration Stephen, Lighthouse Horror, was marvelously heartfelt and couldn’t have been better! Thank you all for this special tale!
This was so incredibly beautiful. From the story alone, to the music added to it (which fit perfectly btw), and the emotion you could feel in the voice as the story was told... This was wonderfully put together, Lighthouse. To everyone involved in this one, bravo. It's made this story a favorite of mine now.
Hello again Lighthouse. I found your channel a year ago and instantly fell in love with your storytelling. I listened to every story in short order. Recently I decided to listen to them again while I’m busy cleaning and doing stuff around the house. I listened to this story again today and it is a beautiful story and the saddest in your library. Thank you for sharing your voice with us.
Such a beautiful story, brought to life not just by your wonderful narration but by the haunting piano music in the background which genuinely brought a lump to my throat! A big thankyou to the author Brianna, whether it was based on a personal memory or of something she had read it matters not. It was beautifully written & captured the essence of loving memories Thank you again for the very empathic narration you put in to this story.
I can't believe this story doesn't have more views and likes. It's such a beautiful, sad story that in some ways reflects the realities for so many people. I'd go as far to say that it's the best story I've heard of its type. So often the stories fall kind of flat and cliche, but this one actually stirs the heart as much as the titular character's music.
I think it's top 3 stories on the channel. I absolutely loved that one. I'm a huge fan of Lucas King's, and his piano piece was just perfect for this story.
