I've watched JP Bouvet since the Berklee preparation/advice videos from 2,013 and it's really awesome when someone does these videos to really help us all to gain a great perspective about functioning inside a band, and concentrate on playing inside a band, thinking and feeling as musicians and not being concerned only about drumming. Thanks a lot JP and Drumeo! 🎵🎶👏🏼👏🏼
Very creative Christmas message. Also, as a 67 year old drummer that started playing four years ago, thanks Drumeo for the practice time. Six months ago, ' Lasst Band ' played its first gig and now has played twice already this month with a New Year Eve show coming up. I am living the dream.
I'm not even a drummer but I've followed all the masterclasses on Drumeo for 2 years or so. I have to say my favorite parts are always the ones about philosophy, musicality, methodology, and all this is obviously connected to drum technics, for the best. I recognize myself in these digressions being a guitarist, singer, composer and huge fan of jams. I can only thank and encourage you guys at Drumeo for the direction you're willing to take, according to the last comments before the ending song !
Hey, I got a tip for you maybe: if you like, get a drum-pad and sticks (like here: ruclips.net/video/BnrYRliu1bI/видео.html). It's a fun thing and you can jam along a bit to when you are watching the videos. I've been playing guitar + bass for 17 years myself. Had I known that this drum pad thing exists (basically gives you a similar rebound to a snare), I would have just played around with that so much! You can stick/drum along with the drumeo videos or e.g. the vocal line of any song, just on the pad. (My drummers never had that, never knew that existed)
This is some insane stuff these guys are doing. You can learn a whole lot music wise instead of just drum stuff just from watching this. Amazing content.
Wow this dude is super groovy. I like this lesson alot. Stuff thats really applicable to the band stand. Not just lick to impress your friends. Keep this style of lessons coming and great work drumeo!
I did' nt like him before but now he grow up, change his way to talk (now don' t show that hes better than all of us), and he explains aspects that i' ve never heard before, good teacher, i like him now ans as well very good drummer ! i liked that lesson, tks
This was outstanding! So much valuable material that I can use for my own writing process. Please do more of this! Benny Grebs Moving Parts is a trio Id like to hear from. :)
i've already watch it the drum lesson of brandon koo here at drumeo .... i want to watch i again but i searched many times i can't found the video....where is the video? they remove the video?
Lot's of great insights from a great drummer and great production by Drumeo as always! For more info/stories, check out my interview with JP Bouvet here: ruclips.net/video/us73Sj40nbU/видео.html
I love JP. & The video was insightful but wasn't executed very well. It was a huge "The Mercury Program" rip off which may be why JPs band didn't know where to go with this whole thing. It was stagnant at best.
Man I really really got depressed listening such a terrible lack of musicality on the first track. My ears can't listen any more of that. Wasted talents probably. Sorry, can't call that harmony or music or anything enlightening.
please get JP on as often as u can. His work on a drum kit and synergy with his band is amazing

Chris Bair Drums one of the best! Ireland.
He's such a great teacher
JP is a magician on the drums.
One of the most exciting young drummers out there!!!!!!! The gigs with Generation Axe and Periphery are the proof.
Best thing to come out of the Guitar Centre Drum-Off!
It’s so cool how the first improv jam became an actual song! My favorite one on their new record Salamander
This was one of the best Drumeo vids so far. And you've had some great ones. More band/jamming lessons please!
This is some insane stuff these guys are doing. You can learn a whole lot music wise instead of just drum stuff just from watching this. Amazing content.
This is great to hear how drums work within a band context. Great stuff to think about.
Good call on JP. He's unreal
Wow this dude is super groovy. I like this lesson alot. Stuff thats really applicable to the band stand. Not just lick to impress your friends. Keep this style of lessons coming and great work drumeo!
YESSSS! FINALLY! He's a great presenter
Such a passionate drummer, you can see it in his eyes!
I did' nt like him before but now he grow up, change his way to talk (now don' t show that hes better than all of us), and he explains aspects that i' ve never heard before, good teacher, i like him now ans as well very good drummer ! i liked that lesson, tks

I really want Matt Halpern on drumeo! Please make it happen!
starting to become one of my top drummers! Keep it up JP
I love this page, I'm in 8th grade and going for snare in the high school band, more paradiddles and tips for solo snare would be awesome
JP is a great solo drummer as well. So, hopefully next time he will be talking about the way he approaches a drum solo.
A fantastic young drummer and lovely person
Amazing lesson! Nice advices on how to look into ourselves, and let the music come out!
Richard Spaven!
Great lesson, you are a great speaker too, JP!
This is pretty awesome, a lot better than stuff about rudiments, this is something I cannot get from a book.
Outstanding lesson in Musicianship!

nice lesson, finally something more on music not only drumming :)
agreed!
I thought that was you Asher! You guys sound great, keep on rockin' -TubaSteve
challenge for you drumeo: if you can get either tyshawn sorey or ches smith. amazing drummers playing highly underrated styles of drumming.
Tyshawn might very well be one of the greatest minds in "academic music" right now. And an amazing drummer, too.
Very good! And this was the 1st time you had a band on Drumeo? About time huh? : ) More of that please
Also get JP Gaster from Clutch please))
Good lesson
Just beautiful !!!
More live bands please.
This was pretty awesome, thx
Do Mario Duplantier/Tomas Haake next...
Haake is too busy, plus he doesn't have to earn a living this way, fortunately
Jimmydrum92 ended up playing guitar with CJ, great!
Ilan Rubin would be killer on DRUMEO!!!
More metal drumming please !
holy MONKS that was fantastical
Yo guys, what are these hi hats he’s using? They sound super crisp!
I knew i heard Well Done somewhere else, i guess this is an early jam version
Very nice thoughts on creativity and writing parts. Is there wires on that rack tom?
Yessss! Soo good!!!
i've already watch it the drum lesson of brandon koo here at drumeo .... i want to watch i again but i searched many times i can't found the video....where is the video? they remove the video?
Please invite Phil Maturano
Juan Carlito Mendoza. Can u bring him to teach on soloing and fills
I would describe JP's drumming face as someone about to put food in their mouth.
hahaha!
it looks like he put the food in the mouth, but he don't know what food it is
Matt helpern or Mike Johnson Please !!
Which hihats does he use in this setup?
When you talk to the wrong camera for a whole hour
probably his I always look far away because i'm profound schtik
Can anybody point out his cymbal set up?
Can we please get Stan Bicknell on here!
marco minnemann :)
What dimensions are that kit? What does he use for muffling in the kick? Nice balance of attack and fullness...
tdrum21 looks like 22x18, 12x9, 14x12, and maybe 14x6.5 for the snare.
pacificdrumma think that might be a 13” rack
please get Mark Guiliana
I would be stoked to see Mark do a lesson on drumeo too!
25:14 'cool cool'
25:14 cool cool
somebody knows which is the reference of the hihat he is playing?
Pablo Robles they look like 14” byzance jazz thin hi hats.
Lot's of great insights from a great drummer and great production by Drumeo as always! For more info/stories, check out my interview with JP Bouvet here: ruclips.net/video/us73Sj40nbU/видео.html
Interesting
in the first song ithink that the snare needs to sound a little fatter
Some of the tom fills seemed out of place, but still sounded great
i feel like the toms were badly tuned
GET HALPERN!
Aquiles Priester in drumeo please !
Chad smith would be so cool
👍
Can you bing to the studio Alex González, drummer from maná
unreal
25:13 😂
Get Joseph Arrington
Noice
pretty damn good but I couldn't help thinking the whole time how hipsters can be quite full of it LOL
7:21 WTF did you say JP? 😂
Chad Smith?? Can you bring him???
You mean Will Ferrell?
Hey now, they are all-stars.
I love JP. & The video was insightful but wasn't executed very well. It was a huge "The Mercury Program" rip off which may be why JPs band didn't know where to go with this whole thing. It was stagnant at best.
That's what it is!!! the sound like TMP but also Barky.
Radiohead? ;)
CHAD SMITH
why the heck is this rack tom so damn loud?!
totally distracting, for me at least...
