- Welcome to day 3 of our adventure! Today is the day we go to Hawaii for the very 1st time! Aulani is a truly magical place with so much to see and do, but for the 1st day we spent some time in the lazy river, adult only hot tub, and went to Ama Ama the signature service restaurant.

Wow! Memories. I’ve been three times to San Francisco but many more to the San Francisco airport. Everything is so familiar, it makes me want to be there again! Last trip, December 2018 I had an 8 hour layover!!! But I had fun just walking around. What a wonderful experience going to Hawaii!!

Love the room decor; very Hawaiian. A lot of hotels in the islands used to have that look, but the last few decades many of them have been "upgraded" and are pretty generic. One place I love that still embraces the Hawaiian culture is the Ka'anapalli Beach Hotel on Maui.
Mark Bauer Surfjack is also really nice. It’s the only place beside Aulani I’ve stayed at. Very Hawaiian.

I got the same aloha shirt when my family and I visited Aulani last year. I also bought my wife the matching dress. We didn't have time to eat at Ama Ama so that will be a priority next time we visit the islands. Glad you and David had a fun first day!

My wife and I stayed there in July right before our 25th Anniversary Cruise!!! Watching this is bringing back so many memories. One of our tour drivers for our tour of Pearl Harbor (he didn't work for Disney) told us that we were staying at the most authentic Hawaiian hotels in all of Hawaii because Disney did so much research into the culture and incorporated it into the hotel. I hope you did one of the nightly guided tours of the resort they have in the evenings, it was very informative. Can't wait to watch more of y'all's adventure.

I LOVED the lazy river. I think most of my vacation was spent in there just floating around. What a beautiful view from Ama Ama. I had a large party so we weren't as close to the front window, but the whole restaurant has spectacular views. Glad you enjoyed it and wish David a happy birthday!!

It’s been ten years since I have been home to Hawaii and I am going December 20th I am super excited to go. And can not wait to see my family that lives on the island and see my mother as well who has moved to the islands recently.

This looks amazing guys! I'm very jealous! I really should look into Aulani particularly since I'm a DVC member. Seems dumb not to. I do hate those long flights though and that is the one reason I haven't gone yet. I would have to stop in CA for a day or two so I wouldn't have to do all that traveling at once.
