As a bug lover this puts a big smile on my face….a Hellcat is a modern car…with modern tech etc….one would expect it to be a walkover for the Hellcat….but as the video shows, it wasn’t…in fact it was quite the opposite….’skin of teeth’ springs to mind #Bugs

My grandpa used to take two crash beetles and weld what was left of them together. With the stock 4-banger he could get 10s 1/4miles consistently by just camming them and changing the rods.
Hellcat had a better ET time vw was at his neck on the 60 ft...and not far behind him after the 8th impressive for a 200+hp NA bug, a set of high flow race heads and a turbo or nitrous cranking 300hp would run right with that expensive machine...i have a 76 plan on doing the the popular rotary 13b swap easy to make 2-300hp

The bug will be around the 2 to 2.3 litre mark, naturally aspirated and around 180bhp. Hellcats are big supercharged grunt machines! But people always try harder against a beetle...
Josh Reynolds rear motor rwd and 1600lbs u put slicks on 300 hp 10s all day there’s many 10 second weekend turbo VW streetcars running around . Traction is not an issue for these cars whatsoever

Yeah it no secret vw bug have been a sleepers for a long time in fact dudes in the 80s put triple Weber carbs on them back in the day Beating most cars but today I figured a built motors with power adders for more power was needed than that to keep up with a modern car but forgot manufactures only made cars heavier over the years with power increases to which I didn’t account for.

200hp bug run 12s....150 shot of nitrous on a na 12 sec bug will put it mid 10s to high depending on the driver....this is a na bug, add forced induction 300+hp the hellcat will get gapped....nice race

@@S85B50Engine Not necessarily. You can get an air cooled engine up anywhere from 2-300 HP. With a 1600 ibs curb weight and the right tires, that's more than enough.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime :-(//

My Maxwell smarts voice... He missed it by, that much. Beetle started to smoke a bit, towards the end. He stayed on his ass though.
