Having been to Singapore a few times, it is no surprise that the event was well organized. This year both the Chess Olympiad and World Chess Championship were well organized. These events were polar opposites in terms of number of players participating but both were well done with Budapest taking recycling and efficiency to a whole new level. And in both these events Sagar Shah, Amruta and his Chessbase India team did an incredible job covering not just chess but also the heros behind the scenes and their work that made these events possible. Kudos Sagar, Amruta and Chessbase India team.
I was the one that wrote to you, Kevin, abt the poor audio quality, esp it was so difficult to hear what Ding was speaking. It was evident that the very next day you hv improved on it with players wearing head set and the audio engineer ensured the mic was in front of their mouth. That what exactly set Spore org apart from the rest of the org but also shld tks to me for taking the effort to write in. The recent world rapid and blitz championship hardly can hear what the journalists were asking. All these boiled down to poor org and could not be bothered. Tks for hearing feedback and implement it immediately.
Another good interview by CBI. One question however was not asked: what was the total cost of organizing the entire thing (including the ancilliary events)? Perhaps the final bill might have far exceeded the initial U$8.5 that had been the original figure? Maybe Sagar can ask Kevin in an email about this and post the figure here as a pinned comment. Thanks.
This video isn't about Gukesh. It's about the man who organized the WCC I think he deserves a video for the great job he had done for the whole event and Sagar did a wonderful job interviewing him.
Singapore's greatest resource is its PEOPLE. World-class performances by all involved. Kudos to GM Kevin and the entire team!
And the govt. Very efficient and non-corrupt.
true very nicely organized event
Kevin is a jolly person, seeing how he had that smile throughout the video
