Same. Every illness seems like a walk in the park compared to this Virus from hell!
There are things that i am more afraid off, i mean if a animal bites me i just go to the doctor and get a shot and everything will be fine. There are viruses that are not as deadly but very deadly as well where there is no cure, the chances off getting rabies in generell are really low in western countrys.
Yep, as an intern nurse people often complained about how worrisome covid was and i always replied thank god it's not a rabies pandemic or we would all be dead by now.
Yeah covid was so dangerous, 99,96% survival rate SUCH a dangerous virus

Tell me about it
I was in a rural area in Brazil a few years ago and got bitten by a dog. Headed to a city as fast as humanly possible to get necessary treatment even though the "wound" wasn't actually visible. The doctor told me that those cases are the worst as people don't get it treated but saliva still enters. This is the most lethal virus in the world with >99% fatality rate if not treated. People should really have the utmost respect for this virus

Dogs and cats don’t have rabies often. It’s usually wolves, coyotes, skunks, bats, raccoons, rats, and more non domesticated animals also there is only a few dogs and cats that have rabies but they’re mostly the ones that are feral and non-domesticated animals. I’ve gotten bitten and scratched by both domesticated dogs and domesticated cats many times and I can definitely confirm that I was perfectly fine after and I survived. :) Of course if I was bitten by any raccoon, rat, bat, coyote, wolf or skunk, I’d get help immediately because people don’t often know whether those animals have rabies or not whereas with dogs and cats, It’s very easy to know that they have rabies. :( Just note that domesticated animals are much more different from feral animals. So definitely always be careful out there in places with those animals especially raccoons and bats and other animals that can possibly have rabies. If possible, definitely get vaccinated for rabies beforehand to make sure that you’re vaccinated in case something happens like if you get bitten by a vicious raccoon or bat or if you get chased by a wolf or coyote and you end up getting bitten. :) I and some people that I know have experienced this and they followed all the precautions and got the vaccine and they were fine after. :) The scariest incident where I almost got bitten by an animal was when I saw a brown recluse spider and I literally screamed for my life and I was so scared I was going to get bit and get really sick from it and possibly die but luckily I didn’t and it just left through a ceiling vent. Trust me, Even though brown recluse spiders seem docile and harmless, Trust me they’re not! The same goes for wasps and hornets too and of course certain species of bees. :( I also once got stung by a wasp on my mouth on both my top lip and bottom lip and it hurted so badly and experienced a minor reaction to it. Trust me it was horrific and scary but thankfully I survived that too. Some insects can be quite very unfriendly, dangerous, venomous and/or even deadly, especially for people who are allergic to insect bites/stings. No, I am not allergic but I still did have a reaction though because of the species it was and the locations it stung me on my mouth on both my upper lip and lower lip. :( But thankfully I was okay and fine after. :)
Where I live, rabies is non existing. Scientists dropped treats with rabies vaccine from helicopters and planes straight onto the forests. This actually worked, so we didn't have ANY rabies infection since like 20 or 30 years. There are a lot of forests here, 1/3rd of a country is forest. And we have a lot of animals walking down the streets of our cities. 🤣

Please bear in mind that a bite to the arm is going to spread to the nervous system faster than a bite to the ankle. The wound can heal perfectly and it can, depending on entry site, can take up to six months to cause itching. Furthermore, keep in mind that animals can display dumb rabies. It will look miserable and seek help, but will not appear to be rabid in any way. The animal may scratch or lick a wound you may already have. Dumb or furious, lick, bite or scratch, you never ever take the chance. You go for the serum that day. No ifs, no buts, no maybes. Time is crucial. You don't wait for the itching, because once symptoms appear, it is far too late, and one of the most horrible deaths awaits.
Rabies is fatal when symptoms start to show

The internet hears my dinner table conversations. I asked my family about if they’d ever seen anything rabid and they told me stories related to that topic. And then I come back to my room to immediately have this at the top of my FYP.
I remember as a kid getting bit by my neighbor's German shepherd. My dad and brother scared me by telling me I was going to have to have a rabies shot and they said th needle was big and it was going to hurt bad. I starter panicking and crying. Later my Dad found out through the owner of the dog that it had it's vaccinations and was rabies free.
I was bitten by a bat and a dog when I was like 8-10 years old and I don't remember getting any sort of medical help/vaccine or anything at all.
But here I am now, 32 years old...still alive and breathing. 🤷🏻😪
That's because not every bat and dog has rabies you genius. People get vaccinated anyway as a precaution only.
Not all bats and dog have rabbies
Same mate bit by a squirrel and cat and dog and never had anything 😂 still breathing too mate
Pls don't be complacent and play with your luck next time. Take vaccine on time.

I'm terrified of rabies, imagine one of the effects being hydrophobia! Essentially, you can't even drink to survive! Once the rabies symptoms start showing even tho you're "normal" everywhere else, it's just a matter of days before you die. I really really hope our scientists get to develop a cure for this.

Vaccine is a prevention before thr disease actually starts to roll out its effect on the body.

There’s something off about the narrator’s jovial delivery about a subject that is so serious lol
I’m crying right now I had a dream of being bit by a rat and I thought I had rabies but I didn’t thank god I love my life godbless everyone.
This topic scares me because there is a group of 6 stray dogs near my house and they're quite aggressive and each time I go out or return home I'm scared that 1 or more of them might be infected
Always make sure to have soap and iodine in your house like the video suggested. And make sure to get home quickly every time you enter the areas they live in, don’t take unnecessary routes
Oh and please remember to tell your parents to call the local animal shelter. You could save a life
Take the vax. You have a real possibility of contacting an infected animal, so you could keep your vax updated. Last year I went to public health station update all of my vax and when I questioned abou the rabie one they told me it wasn’t needed as I have almost 0 chance to get it (I’m already vaccinated from childhood, but I reckon it’s not effects anymore)
Call animal control.
and you think dogs have rabbies and go on living for ages... interesting
Have a Damn good day!
I think once hydrophobia shows up its too late.. theres a case that she only went to the hospital when hydrophobia shows up and only 12 hours she passed away

Sounds kinda bad. I saw another video that the people called animal control and they said loose aggressive animals wasn't their problem. Shocked me. What is their problem then?
There are long rabbies incubation period 20 years or more in some cases dont think you get bite and you are fine because they dont show symtoms.

Also me:Nah I'm not gonna wash my hand 15 mins it's fine!(actually is fine😅)
It really legitimately should be fine. For one, rabies is transmitted via body fluids, so like blood or saliva. A scratch from a nail or claw is unlikely to carry it. For another, and more importantly, rabies is a virus strictly contained to mammals. Birds and reptiles do not and cannot carry it or be infected by it.

And they closed that shit down from spreading. I swear to holy shit.
Actually I don’t think it was fast acting rabies. But I did read one time that there was a form of rabies that was like hrs or days compared to the slow move through the nervous system. I used to be really curious and interested in rabies and I think there was a form where it was hella fast to turn into rabies and kill you. It wasn’t in the lab where it got airborne though. I’ve read both of the airborn and a fast acting rabies before.
