I'd say purchase price was right on par for us guys in the Midwest. I picked up a '14 w/160k mi in Dec '23 for $19k. Did TSW shock exchange, exhaust leak fix, blower fan module and ended up doing the 16 spark plug replacement with wires and coil packs myself which was an adventure to say the least haha I did learn quickly that new lugs are a must. Those two piece OEM lugs were a nightmare once they start to bulge and separate. I found your channel after considering a gen 2, but the more forum posts I read it seems like a lot of guys miss their gen 1! Good stuff man, keep it up!
I recently bought a 2010 Laser Blue SCAB, and it came with newish bronze Method wheels, a K&N CAI, and 37” Toyo Open Country tires. There’s 170k on the odometer, and so far everything is solid (knock on wood)! Absolutely zero rust as the truck spent the last 15 years in CA and NV. So far I’ve only had to replace 2 fuses, the K&N cone filter, and I need to procure and replace the TPM’s all around. The last owner upgraded the stock seat skins to brand new leather/alcantara Raptor embroidered skins, with a brand new OEM leather steering wheel, and new leather on the center console and shifter. My next immediate upgrades will include LED headlight bulbs, calipers and rotors, followed by exhaust and shock rebuilds for the hell of it. I paid $19,000 cash.
Factory tires were 8 ply 315/70r17 on the Gen 1, 6 ply on the Gen 2 moving forward. Nice video just bought a 2014 with 150k miles. You’re right. They need a lot of parts. I’ve done a rebuild on the shocks through Hammer with gieser springs on bottom perch, and 37” ko2 6 ply tires and method wheels. The factory touch screen is brutally outdated and needs to be upgraded also. Great content. Keep it up!
I bought mine a few years back during the height of used truck prices, and I got it from Carmax, so I know I didn't get a great price. That said, all the ones locally to me had much rougher interiors, so I accepted the high cost to get a truck I like shipped to me cheaply. I've got a little over 100k on the clock and aside from what I suspect is a worn out idler pulley, it's been a super solid truck.
Nice. I always like when someone tries to make a clickbait video on these trucks like they’re bad or a high issue truck. It’s quite annoying actually haha
Probably should have, I got a body guy that’ll do new metal for a solid price. Just wanted to get some content out on it before I stuck it in the shop.
@@anthonyceretti5333 Their doing alright. My dads health has been on the decline, has fibrosis of the lungs pretty bad. At this point their lifer's on the southside ha.
Awesome videos Jim. Thinking about checking out a raptor with 153k on it. Never ownered anything with that many miles so on the fence. Sent u the link for the truck on instagram
If you need to replace a blower motor in your truck, not that hard I have replaced a blower motor in my 2012 F150 the motor is right under the glove box 3 bolts, and one wiring harness very simple that probably why you having that noise
@ I looked for like six months. Never saw another one other than this one within 500 miles. You are pretty spot on with the pricing. Bought it with 151K but had history with moderate damage on the front right suspension and frame rail. Texas and Tennessee truck with zero Rust. I’ll probably put about 2.5 K into it since I bought it on the shocks and brakes. Paid 17.5k.
I am looking at buying a 2022 Raptor with the 37 package. Price is $65k. First what do you think about the price? I have been searching for over a year. I want a 2021 or newer. This seams to be an okay deal. Let me know what you think...
Found a incredibly clean gen 1 13' private party sale in the greater salt lake City Utah area ( tried linking the post but my comment won't post if when I do). Guy is asking $44k but it's only got like 47k mi and choice upgrades so I wouldn't even change anything. KBB has it $38kish as the highest value. But I know clean low mi gen 1 are hard to come by. Thinking about $40k offer. Would that be a deal? It's also out of state for me I'm in California & the DMV is a pain in the ass here not not sure how hard it would be to register. If you search auto trader private party sales in salt lake area I'm sure you you'd find it. It's black with black rhino rims 🔥 I'd really appreciate your feed back. Thank you.
Hey Jim, I’ve enjoying your content, I’m considering trading my 14’ with 144000 miles for a 18 with 84000 that I found, that’s got great service records, what’s a decent price for the 18, they are offering me 22000 for mine
Thanks I appreciate the help, I’m in Omaha Nebraska and the 18 is in South Dakota about 2hrs away, I guess if I can convince my wife I’ll head up and buy that one, lead foot grey, she Purty! Thanks again

Just got a 11 SC FX4 5.0 w/ 58k miles. Digging the content. I'm gonna have to do that tesla screen.
Keep that Gen 1 content coming .
V8 ftw
I have a 2011 silver with 220k . Great trucks!
Gen 1 Raptor will be on the level of the 60s Broncos one day. Keep that thing til you die my man!
Love the truck. I’m currently looking at a Gen 2 like yours. Both Gens are a dream.
Thanks man! They’re equally fun to drive but comfort and especially road trips. Gen 2 all day long.

i was able to pick up a 12 Raptor for 11,750 with 190k, it does have some rust on 1 cab corner and need tires but I think I got a great deal
Ya definitely a good buy.
Yo! you should look into getting a Revesol steering wheel. I got it on my f-150 and it looks amazing!
I actually have, but Tesfeel is suppose to be in works on a carbon wheel for the 1st gens.
@@f1fiftyjimmy ohhh okay gotcha
Thanks for the videos. Gave me the info needed and got a 2013 with 165k miles for $14000. Needs maintenance but overall awesome truck.
Nice deal!
I like the Gen 1, I would’ve tackled the rust before the radio upgrade. Mechanical would be priority and body would be on top of my list.

Looking good. What are your plans for the old wheels? I have a 2011 XLT (not a Raptor) with KO2s that those would look nice on.
I’ll probably sell them. Not sure if I want to deal with shipping them though right now.

Late 2010s also have the 6.2 but it was an option. Source: in my garage. Love the raptors cuz, next time I am out in Iowa we should go wheeling
