I half expected moms voice to distort the way it does in the boss battle halfway through the ending. it didn't, which made me very unsettled for some reason.

I mean, the concept is not about hating religion per se, but about how we recontextualize religion to cope with our own traumas and how it affect us as a young age. Ita not simply "Religion=Bad" but more of a overlook of why religion is harmful

I was raised Catholic, and the amount of hatred my family felt towards protestants was insane. It's an us vs them mentality. I'm not religious anymore these days, but I see how it affects people.
