Taylor really is a fantastic lyricist. I think it's interesting that she wrote Dear John about John Mayer and used his guitar style and then the thing with Kanye where she decided to step into the arena and make a record with rap and hard edges that outsold him. (anyone willing to read the 💩I just wrote, a lot of respect to you so here's a cookie in advance, tysm! 😊🍪)
I very much agree with this comment, especially the lyricist part! I realise, from experience, that haters are usually people who are either, ignorant to a person's true self and what shes known for, or misunderstood the artist by the smallest details.
The similarity? The underestimations from the haters on what Taylor is capable of, especially her songwriting talent and skills. It is fine if they claim that her singing may be mid as I think shes more targeted towards lyricism. Not only that, it's even sad that it's hard to change the minds of haters as I think it's human for us to entirely believe a fact when it makes sense. As a result, we often dont fact-check the allegations made to anyone and we will be stubborn when anyone opposes us, only when we are humble and compliant to actually go search up the truth.
I say this from experience as this was exactly what happened when I was originally a hater of Taylor and found her annoying and stuck-up, just like the swifties. It was only when I decided to give Taylor a chance and look her up to find out the truth, that the narratives that social media set up about her were mostly untruths. Yes, she does have several controversies. But then again, that's what makes everyone human. 😊

  • @lauragintaute4587
    @lauragintaute4587 11 месяцев назад +195

these are all the easter eggs i've found!!:
    1) TS in the sky (pretty obvious but anyway)
    2) Out Of The Woods Taylor (zombie taylor - the last music video before rep) and 2014 Met Gala Taylor (buried taylor - last event she's been to before hiding for a year)
    3) Tilted stage references Kanye West's flying tilted stage while touring The Life Of Pablo album.
    4) You can see Nils Sjöberg written on one of the gravestones - it's Taylor's pseudonym which she used to co-write Calvin Harris and Rihanna's hit song "This Is What You Came For"
    5) The bathtub could be a reference to Taylor explaining how the media portrays her in the grammy museum - "She jet sets around the world, collecting men, and she can get any of them ... but she's so clingy, so they leave and she cries and then she gets another one in her web and she traps them and locks them in her mansion and then she's crying in her marble bathtub surrounded by pearls." Some speculate it references Kim Kardashian's Paris robbery.
    6) There's a single dollar in the bathtub - a nod to DJ David Mueller who groped her. He lost his job because of this and sued Taylor for 3 million dollars. Taylor counter sued for a dollar (to show that she didn't do this for money) and won the case.
    7) When Taylor says 'how you laugh when you lie' her reflection doesn't match her - the Taylor in the mirror is clapping.
    8) The throne scene shows Taylor as the queen of snakes, refferencing Kim's tweet where she calls her a snake. She embraces the image with snake jewelry.
    9) I can't realy see what's written on the columns (it mentions Brute, if someone knows, please help) but on the throne (where Taylor taps her nails) 'Et tu, Brute?' is written. Meaning: 'You too, Brute?'. Might be a nod to some of her fake friends she trusted (Zendaya, who agreed with Kim's tweet and liked similiar ones or Karlie Kloss, who is rumoured to leak information about Taylor to the media).
    10) Just before the car crash scene, 12 snakes jump out, making Taylor the 13th (13 is Taylor's lucky number)
    11) The car might be a reference to Katy Perry's "Waking Up In Vegas", Daft Punk winning the album of the year instead of Taylor's Red or to her Red album (the title track has the lyric "Loving him is like driving a new Maserati down a dead-end street".
    12) The hairdo looks a lot like Katy Perry's (as well as the animal print coat).
    13) Taylor is holding a Grammy - either saying that Red deserved a Grammy, or taking a dig at Katy for having 0 Grammys, while Taylor had 10 (at the time).
    14) The paparazzi ar played by her tour dancers.
    15) I don't know what the cheetah is doing here, but it reminds me of Blank Space (which had a white horse appearing randomly - maybe it shows that what's happening in the video isn't the real Taylor?)
    16) There's a TS on the red curtain.
    17) Taylor in a cage might reference how she feels - it's a fancy cage (with champagne and lobster), but still - she's not free to do everything she wants to.
    18) There's a snake tatoo on her leg - might reference, once again, people calling her a snake or one of the Kardashian-Jenner's magazine cover with a snake tatoo.
    19) She has 7 bodyguards behing her - if Karma existed, reputation would have been the 7th album.
    20) The bank robbing scene shows Taylor stealing money from Stream Co - this scene references people saying that she is money hungry after Taylor said that streaming companies don't pay the artists enough. Taylor pulled her full catalogue out of the streaming platforms for some time.
    21) The robbers are wearing cat masks - either references Katy Perry's fans, who are called KatyCats or just Taylor's big love for cats.
    22) "All I think about is Karma" - swifties speculate that the TS6 originally was called Karma.
    23) I really don't know anything about the first motorcycle scene, so help me out if you know anything!
    24) The next scene references the so-called "Taylor squad" - a group of Taylor's famous friends. People really hated on it and said that it was fake and you had to be really pretty to be here. Taylor was once again portrayed as an evil mastermind. Here she uses this, playing a villainous looking leader of a plastic, robot-y girl squad.
    25) You can see "U Squad" flashing.
    26) Next - Taylor has 8 dancers (assistants?) wearing 'I ❤ TS' shirts and symbolizing her 8 famous exes. There are also eight lamps in the room.
    27) You can see Taylor cutting of the wings on a plane - it might simbolize TS6 never 'airing'. Taylor spray paints reputation instead.
    28) The cross is a T, for Taylor.
    29) You can see a lot of Taylors from the past events and music video trying to climb up to the top, where reputation taylor is standing. Taylor's shaking off all of her past personas and saying that they are dead. The new Taylor is her true self and she won't play any more parts.
    30) Taylor's wearing a lot of snake rings while holding a phone - identical to the phone in the 'Our Song' music video, just yellow.
    31) Fearless and Red Taylors fighting for being the forst rerecording?
    32) Taylor rarely dances in her music videos and people made fun of her awkward-looking dancing at award shows (which caused her to write Shake It Off) - to prove them wrong she dances in this music video and it's amazing.
    33) Her walking away from an explosion might simbolize her not caring about the drama anymore.
    34) Taylor carrying two motorcycles shows that she carries her label - Big Machine Records. She has left the label and is now rerecording her old albums.
    35) There are 15 Taylors in the ending scene - reputation has 15 tracks.
    36) This scene is Taylor acknowledging and making fun of what media says about her - the surprised face she makes when she wins an award, her being offended by Kanye calling her a 'b*tch' in his song, her being the 'nice girl, America's sweetheart' and people calling her fake, media saying that Taylor's playing the victim, Kim heavily editing the call which 'calls out' Taylor. The last phrase references Taylor's response to the edited phone call - ‘I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative, one that I have never asked to be part of, since 2009.’ Other Taylors tell her to shut up, meaning that everyone - including Taylor herself - are tired of the drama.

I think the part where taylor was carrying 2 motorbikes maybe it means that shes "stronger" after this kanye incident. Actually tbh, if kanye never did this shit to taytay, she would never have experienced such drawbacks and may have never learnt to bounce back and write even better hits. Hitting it out of the park again Knox! You caught basically all of the references she put in there. There was only maybe two/three that I can think of you didn't. The tilted stage line which was a reference to a video of Kanye on tour singing Famous and the whole crowd is chanting F Taylor. The I 💙 TS shirts was a reference to a photo from one of her 4th July parties that she got mocked about because Tom Hiddleston (who was dating her at the time) was wearing a top with it on. Finally the " 'I would like to be removed from this narrative' 'shut up!' " when the song came out she released a statement with that line in it and people claimed it was her playing a perpetual victim.
Seriously though it was awful because in the original unedited video you can actually hear her tell Kanye that she thought it would be something awful like him calling her a bitch and how they had to be careful. She said that they had to be careful because she had started taking a stand as a feminist but also she was close to over exposure. So they really knew that it could really damage her.
Also I vote for This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things next.

I watch a lot of music reactions dude and i have to say, yours are one of the best. You interpret all the little details, you do your research, your respecting the artist and trying to explain what he or she wants to say to her fans or just the public. You do a good job! If you want a recommendation: all to well short film. Taylor wrote and directed the short film its like 15 minutes long. I am sure youll like it!

It’s said that the part of the song that says Taylor can’t come to the phone is in reference to Kris Jenner telling Kim, “What if you just called Taylor up”. On KUWTK show. Kris said she likes Taylor and TS mom so maybe just call her up. And if this is TS response to that episode 🤌🏼

They took her body and then they set her up and then the REAL thing came out! Yes. They owned her body and music. ❤❤❤She’s fighting Kayne on *his rap turf. They took her naked body on that tilted bed. Yet at the end, she holds herself to honesty… underrated still. Thank you.

The tea pot and tea cup is a reference to Kendall Jenner’s post “tea time” when Kim first dropped the edited video. She references this in several songs, even Anti-Hero on Midnights. EVERYTHING in a Taylor video has a purpose.

When she’s crashing the car, she is taking a stab at Katie Perry and the reason she has a Grammy in her hands is because she has won 10 and Katie Perry has none.
She drinking tea on the throne as a stab and Kendal Jenners post of her drinking tea after Kim posted the audio of Taylor

Welcome to reacting to the best TS album so far. I mean, of course, lyrically speaking Folklore/Evermore are by far her best BUT the whole aesthetic, references, this "dark Taylor" vibe this album gives off is just STUNNING. If possible you should do a whole Rep album reaction and you'll see as the album progress how there are layers of vulnerability under all those cathartic lyrics as well.
