Halo is a fantastic series...speaking of fantastic things. Are you all going to be doing a Golden Mullet Awards event? I mean, it's been pretty easy to slap a sweet Kentucky waterfall on some titles as of late.

My favorite moment was when Jobs said "Pixar could easily do better" and then Bungie said "but could they do it in real time" that is so true, and speaks to how awsome video games are and how impressive real time graphics are
I was only going to watch 5 minutes and come back to the video later but I was glued for the entire video. This is prime G4.

Indeed! You should check out Same Token a retrospective to halo series. You won't be disappointed if you love in depth documentaries. Mystic also has some interesting stuff too.
Whoever edited this - I wish you could re-edit the audio for the third chapter. Cause my left ear is feeling VERY lonely whenever Adam speaks. Honestly a simple both channel to mono workaround is all it needs. Cause as it is right now it is kind of painful to listen to for 20 minutes.

Of course it was - That much is obvious and not at all what I'm referring to.
The re-cut of all of these three videos need homogenous sound, and it's clear that the third game clips have mic recordings that are not stereo balanced at all - which is exactly - and only what I am asking for.

I do feel like the games would've been better if they had stayed with the books. The books are amazing.
Mr. Sessler, that was intense, and I think I learned a thing or two about the need for narrative in AAA-caliber game-ware - as well as the need for crunch avoidance in planning such capers.
My favorite game series of all time. It disheartening to see that Bungie struggled and lost a lot during the development of the first two games. However I think all of the development team can look back and smile knowing they created a juggernaut of a series that is still going fast
Phenomenal review series! I think you all did an amazing job capturing the grueling experiences and blissful heights the Bungie team likely went through. It took me on a more emotional rollercoaster than I was expecting from a game review. So much so I had to watch this movie after already watching the original seperate vids.

I remember a game, that had a similar bug to Myth II. Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor. When I installed it, it deleted Windows from my computer. That was fun...

Its too bad that Halo Infinite - despite all of its awesomeness and innovation (grappling hook!!) - completely broke vehicle controls on UNSC vehicles, that were already perfect all the way back in Halo CE.

I really love the Secret History series and would love for you to do more for other games. I'd love to see a Mass Effect one.
Goldeneye was so hard to aim with, and THAT'S why nobody plays as Oddjob.
Also, only one of the games that Halo gave something to that I even like is L4D. Main reason is I am not an FPS person.
I might be misremembering... but I'm pretty sure that the original Timesplitters on the PS2 was the first console FPS to implement dual analog controls before Halo?
Halo 2 will also be a favorite of mine. I was in The Marine Corps deployed to Iraq. My wife waited in line at the midnight release for Halo 2 sent it and my Xbox to me the next day. We played every minute we had free time. I had one buddy that I would always partner with, we played through the campaign on Legendary multiple times. For a few hours a day we could forget about where we were and have some type of normalcy. I lost my Halo Buddy a few years back, I haven't played Halo since.
I forget that Adam has a degree in English literature. He enriches my vocabulary with every video! I will definitely use “ordained in the stars” tomorrow at work 😂
I love Halo, but if I was a dev on it I would have loathed to ever hear the name of the game after hearing about Halo 1 & 2's complicated history. That sounded stressful as hell.

This was a fantastic video; I do wish that we could heard of the development history of bungie's last two halo games, odst and reach, but considering the more tumultuous and interesting portion of their time with the franchise was during the original trilogy, I am more than satisfied with the information that was given.
Are yall gonna do history of any other FPS besides halo?? Just seems like you guys are stuck on that one FPS title there are other innovative FPSs' out there just saying...

TIL Master Chief was a cyborg, I always though it was a dude in a suit like Doom guy
Not a cyborg. As stated in the video, the original concept for Halo was a real time strategy game with aliens, soldiers and a cyborg class. Over time, it morphed into an fps where the "cyborg" was the playable character, and no longer a cyborg at all. The Chief is "a dude in a suit like Doom guy." A genetically enhanced dude in a suit.

Bungie was so innovative back then. Seems like they're now only interested in making Destiny 2 folks grind the same missions a hundred times.

I was 31 and new to gaming when I got Halo 2. I remember - clearly - hovering my thumb over the A button to join my very first ever FPS multiplayer match and knowing this could take over my life.
I hit the plunger, got the juice in m'veins, and I was a goner. Lived in the Haloverse until I was 41.
