Hey sorry guys My friend and I have been calling each other Sickboy since the 70s lol And NAMM is in Anaheim which is in Orange County Come on Mikey you’re in NP that’s Orange County too 😊
The setlist so far on the tour is not what Hagar was promising, a celebration of the legacy of Eddie and Van Halen. It’s still just a couple of Roth tunes with mostly Hagar-era stuff. And there are no deep tracks at all. Everything so far is what VH had always played on tour. That’s all well and good, I suppose, but it’s not what we were promised. And that’s a huge let down because it was either a lie or backtracking. Anyway, great interview, Anthony is awesome as always.
I disagree. They are playing like Runaround and 5150 which were usually not played, plus some Roth era songs. I’m not a biggest Van Hagar fan, but this is most Van Halen songs they have ever played.
Nostalgia tours are for shit anyway. They should have all grown up a bit and made this happen right with Dave and Eddie. I don't need Hagar pretending to be DLR or the reverse.
Agreed. They might have thrown in a couple of semi-deep cuts (more along the lines of just stuff that they haven't played in a while) and the usual 2 or 3 Roth-era tunes, but nothing unusual. Yeah, kind of a let down considering they're the only ones doing anything Van Halen that have been members of Van Halen.
The prior tour, with Roth, did not have one Sammy song. Dave could have gotten on board with Sammy. But Dave wanted it to be about him. Fthat. Many could have gotten on board. IMHO after this tribute there will not be another.
