Heart breaking. So grateful for the man I have. I stay home full time at 26 years old and run the house while he works and keeps us safe. Wouldn't have it any other way.
My wife is the same way, we have been married for 14 years. She keeps a clean house and makes delicious and nutritious food, keeps the kids and dogs taken care of so we both work for each other. If you do this I have some advice: Realize you both have jobs and share one wage. You both need to respect each others jobs as equally important. If you do this, then all the house work is done when he comes home so neither of you has much more than an 8 hours day. This will give you both plenty of time to talk, play games together, sneak away and be (ahem) intimate. Both need to be committed to each other first after God, then the kids, then yourself is way down the list. If you both are more focused on each other’s happiness you’ll both be happy. Read 1 Cor 13, that is what love looks like. All money goes to the family as a whole. He wants golf clubs, you talk about it and budget together. You want a new pretty coat, you talk and budget together. The kids needs Christmas presents, you talk and budget together. You are one flesh and also one bank account and one electric bill that needs paid. As the Bible says, the husband leads. You are to obey and respect him…but he also is to love you as Christ loves the church which is enough to die nailed to a board for you. So both serve each other. This is the natural way family has functioned for thousands of years. This is why you see old couples still in love. It is how couples were happy together through the worst times in history. It is Gods design and it works better than any system on the planet as long as you both follow Gods word and serve selflessly.
It's like there was this long period of time when men wouldn't approach women directly and would have to have their parents talk to her parents, then a brief period of time when men would just as the woman, and now we're moving back to some other indirect method.
We have had a system that worked well for thousands of years but all the sudden society decided to try square wheels on an egg cart and now is confused that it isn’t going well.
Richard Reeves' book, "Of Boys and Men: Why the Modern Male is Struggling, Why it Matters, and What To Do About It" is an excellent, scholarly exploration of this subject.
Got cleaned up and chose to get right with God, am just an average guy which am fine with, working and growing, when it comes to women it feels like navigating a minefield it’s too frustrating.
We got away from the Biblical model. It’s like our society was putting together furniture, looked at the instructions then threw them away and thought “nah, I can do it better with duct tape and a big hammer.”
@@paulblase3955 I used to read the Old Testament and think “what a bunch of dummies! Alas Eve was deceived and Adam failed in his husbandly duties so we will remain a stupid and fallen species until Jesus returns and have to reinvent the wheel every third generation. All mankind fell in Adam's fall, One common sin infects them all; From sire to son the bane descends, And over all the curse impends. 2. The Crisis that you speak of began in the 16th century when greedy princes and other despots found the ideas of a defrocked Augustinian monk, who wanted to make a name for himself, and wasn't particularly concerned about the consequences or repercussions, useful. While Martin may not have wanted personally to found a heretical movement that tens of thousands would use to make an easy living from, the princes that used him to break ties from Rome certainly did. All we are seeing today are those seeds bearing fruit: self-centered secularism, imperious state-centered socialism, abortion on demand, promiscuous lust and contraception, sexual confusion, the abandonment of the family, false shepherds in bed with political forces promulgating and perpetuating these vices to their personal profit and aggrandizement.
Right, because medieval Catholic priests, princes, and commoners were the epitome of morality…. I think all the kids who were calling their priests “father” in a more literal sense back then would beg to differ… The papacy was never sold or purchased either… Popes never had illegitimate sons or anything of the sort… Princes never manipulated the papacy or the church broadly to make a quick buck through selling indulgences… I think it’s rather naive to only blame Protestantism for these evil issues. They’re issues that stem from our evil hearts. Even if the reformation had never happened, these problems might still have come about. Medieval Catholic Europe had seriously depraved people too. Read Erasmus if you don’t believe me! Back when the church was all under the same roof so to speak, there were still serious moral issues. Now, that’s not to say that some of the ideas of the Protestant reformation have no relation to the issues at hand, but it is not a Protestant only issue.
@@SilentEcho4178 If you knew ANYTHING about the history of Protestantism, you'd know that protestants (like Luther who the Nazis quoted in their mass exterminations of Jews and secular rulers like Queen Elizabeth, in line with protestant proscriptions) mass-murdered their ideological opponents 100 to 1 their Catholic counterparts. (you'd also know that the separation-of-Church and state STARTED with Catholic Church) You'd also know that ONLY secular (and NEVER ecclesiastical) authority had the power to execute anyone. I think even Jordan B is educated enough on factual history to confirm this reality.
It hasn’t just fail men, it actively DESTROYS men.

Love the talk, I really enjoy your videos about things outside of theology! Always very insightful
Modern society has failed men pretty hard, but it’s also kinda failed everyone else too at the same time.

Yes. Modern society has failed men, and also women.
We got away from the Biblical model. It’s like our society was putting together furniture, looked at the instructions then threw them away and thought “nah, I can do it better with duct tape and a big hammer.”
Yes, this sermon is about men though. It's ok for it to not be about women it's not offensive.
