Amazing content, appreciate you. Literally watched 4 to 6 other videos ranging from 2019-2021 and nothing worked but this. Others had the factory reset button instructions given incorrectly aswell. Was told to hold the two EQ button and DB button for 15 rather than the DB and Volume up. Did the factory reset properly like you said and proceed to update properly. FUCKING GODSEND! so many RUclips videos and Reddit posts later and finally something worked. For anybody having issues from other videos, I’m on PC not mac or a console. The biggest difference between this video and all the others, is they’re telling me to download Astro command center from the website and this video had me do it straight from the play store. YO!!! Many thanks for this!! This was the only fix that worked. I was at my wits end, numerous emails back and forth with Logitech, phone walkthroughs, countless youtube videos.. Logitech said the same thing, "oh well youre outside our warranty period, you have to buy a new set" . Even asked that I send them my current set, and purchase a new one at full price. I was 5 minutes away from buying new ones, as Logitech said it was the base that was the problem so I purchased a new one... ofcourse that didn't work.. wasted my money. Before purchasing a new headset, I searched one last time and found your video.. and it worked!! Man, you saved me $300!!
That's beautiful. This worked when all the other ways failed. It seems that the critical part is having the Astro command software from the MS store plus doing the reset with the headset sitting on the base. I was extremely happy to see that update finally work. Thanks kindly. Still relevant in 2024.

I was goin to take mine back to the store, just days from christmas. After i packed it all up i had a last moment check on RUclips. This video reminded me of the early 2012 when videos like this existed. Ive checked the online supports for this headset, no one is talking about a two button press reset. This worked it took 20 seconds and i didnt even do it in the dock, light changed from orange to white and it played audio, had a discord call with my best friend, she confirmed the microphone was working. Been grinding wotlk classic ever since.
two years later, 4 hours of pulling my hair out with all the bs on reddit, and other youtube, and your advice works. its absolutely insane that the astro website STILL has a corrupted download file for the command center. thankfully your video is still up as im pretty sure this is the only valid advice for anyone with these firmware update issues.

Then I bought another pair. They lasted two years, but they were never quite right (shorting or something all the time). They were refurbished. So, finally, I bought a BRAND NEW pair. It worked, you are the man. FYI Astro helpdesk is not helpful at all. Make sure you update the base station first, then hard reset the headphones while in the cradle, then update the firmware. Great video and thanks again for the assist!

It worked, thank you so much. First try it would sit at 0%. Tried it again then it got stuck at 50% and couldn't reset device. Did a factory reset like you said and it worked. It's insane how many issues there are with these headsets and the firmware updates.

Hey Kennybgh i was wondering if you have the astro a50 gen 4 and if so what is your current firmware for headset and base station. My headset is 36179.43 and base is 36799.43, my buddy has a completely different versions and alot newer version. I hope you can help.

Logitech owns astro now. Logitech is a grandfather of peripherals and somehow manages to fail in the same aspect. Sometimes if its not broke dont change it

honestly, I had this problem for a week, I clicked on the video, when you started explaining how to do the factory reset thing, I took my headset, put it back in the charging station and then it started working again, I doubt it's a valid solution but shit it worked so thanks bro XD

So as u know theirs a website version & the play store version of the software. Now if you guys follow his video step for step, where by after u do the factory reset by pressing the buttons on the headset then hit update it successfully works however after, u may notice that after the first update, the update button may still appear, DONT click, as it screwed up the headset again, what it’s asking you to do is update the base station itself now the problem is that it never gets installed, instead u have two choices, if ur headphones work n ur fine with it do nothing, if ur anal bout your base station, use the website version of the software.
Yeah, I agree. I hit the download button again because the base station wasn't "Up to Date" (but the headset was listed as 'Up To Date")....and just like you said...it bricked my headset again because it failed to download the update. I had to re-do all the steps in the video. I'm not going to bother with the Astro website version.
