Hearing you talk and share your experience is truly a treasure. It make people like me feel like is possible to be cheesy and dream about changing the world. And for people like me I mean young professionals from "undeveloped" world, Colombia South America in my case. That "if you feel in the back of your head that you are not learning enough" 6:37 totally got me. Btw sorry for the broken English, I'm still learning

After ten years of (immigration imposed?) imprisonment, a stagnating career chasing the (still) elusive GC I'm now relocating to Silicon Valley all the way from the east coast. This was part choice and part compulsion. While my thinking was similar, listening to you both was motivating and has washed away any lurking doubts. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Hi Sriram and Aarthi! Love the show and really appreciate the honest content. I am a fellow south Indian techie in FAANG (F & G, even spoken to Aarthi in Meta) in the bay area. Your journey has been a very interesting one. I often think to myself about my growth and currently I am starting to see the advantage of the geographical location slipping. What is your take on this? Moreover I am a different sort of techie, I am more into the meat of research and want to traverse by building robust and large scale systems. Its becoming more and more difficult to convince myself on growth. What advice would you have for a person like me? TIA

    (1) were there any asymmetric financial return scenarios from your “safe” jobs that gave you the financial freedom to be an angel investor
    (2) how did you get access to some of The Valley greats like Elon etc.
As a fellow South Indian who also immigrated to the US and is in a FAANG company I am very inspired by your journey.

Could you, perhaps, create a video on how you actually went about creating the great network that you've built in SF and what you actually did to land those step-change jobs and opportunities? How to connect with the powerful execs etc. and how to prepare for step-change jobs?

I have been doing my Master Thesis from Siemens for the past 4months. I have a doubt, I want to know will your career grow differently or take another shape when you work for a bigger company than a smaller one? Also, Ideally how can you make most out of it when you come to other countries and aspire to go back to india.

I get right now 300k a year in a career that seeks environmental and social impact and keeping my head down. Hopefully more young people will appreciate hard work (and luck, yes) instead of overhyped tech crypto bs

I worked for a bay area company for 6 years in order to get my greencard. That allowed me to work on my own startups. Pandemic situation kind of forced me to move permanently back to my home town - Bengaluru. Now I feel the next decade belongs to India and Bengaluru is well positioned for tech related.
